Alexandra Hamilton looked over the bow of the ship heading to New York City. She let out small sigh, buttoning up her jacket. New life. New me. She told herself over and over again. This was New York where dreams were made. She could start a new life and she'd never have to look back. As she thought the ship got closer to the harbor, wind blowing through her hair. Some of her hair flapped in her face so she put it up in a pony tail. " here we go" she said as the ship pulled up to the dock. "New life. New me. Here we go" she repeated, nervous for what was to come. New York would be...different than Nevis. Her boots clicked as she walked off the boat and on to the dock, wood creaking beneath her feet. She looked at her tiny notebook and then around to the big city, people in carriages, people walking around. It was overwhelming but for some reason she felt like de belonged for once. She bit her lip and walked up to a random person, clearing her throat and tapping them on the shoulder " ex-excuse me. Can you pint me to kings college ..?" She looked up hopefully. They took one look at her and scoffed " its that way" they pointed at a big building far in the distance. She narrowed er eyes in that direction, wind blowing dust and her baby hair into her face. She nodded once she made it out. " Thank you!" She smiled, before rushing off. The person gave one last look before continuing in with their life. She weaves through a crowd of people, racing down the blocks to the college. She hopped up the stairs excitedly, preparing herself to make her argument and get into college! It would be that simple right? Alex asked around till she got to the bursar's office, knocking on the door. A snooty proper looking man answered the door, rose a brow but let her come in. "So...miss..?" He asked, standing in front of her. " Hamilton. Alexandra Hamilton" she smiled, eyes bright with dreams, hopes, and ambitions. " I'd like to go to college here and I'd prefer the fast track" she said confidently, fingers crossed behind her back. The bursar started laughing and once he was finished he scoffed. " you do know college is for men right?" Her face got red with anger " yes but-" he cut her off. "That's absurd that you'd want to go to one of the finest colleges. You don't even look like you could get in even if you were a man" he started. She twitched a little, clenching her jaw. It was definitely different then Nevis. She'd had about enough of him. " and the only person who has ever down the fast track has been Arron Burr" he gave her look that made Alex's blood boil. She took a deep breath in, trying to calm her self. No need to result to violen- her thoughts got interrupted by his stupid mouth " scurry along, little girl" she punched him as hard as she could in the mouth, immediately taking her fist back and holding it. That hurt like fuck but she didn't care. She was too mad to care. She stomped out of the bursars office and out of the college. She had an idea. She'd go to Arron burr and get him to show her how to get into the college. As she looked around in an anger that would scare the devil. Her eyes passed over two fliers. One trying to get people to join the army and the other about the Schuyler's winter ball. She didn't care. She needed to find Burr. She heard someone say his name and headed that way, pushing through the crowds before she saw a handsome tall man talking to someone else. She watched from a distance till the man left, punching on her chance to talk to Burr. She ran through the crowd, seeing his bald shiny head disappear. She pushed past some ladies and gentlemen who gave her looks. One for being dressed like a man and the other for shoving them. She quickly grabbed onto burrs sleeve, panting. She took a breath in before speaking again " pardon me, are you Arron burr, sir ?"
