"Laura, I told you I was going to go pick you up later." Niall hissed, looking rather unsettled, no wonder. His ex just met the girlfriend, the girlfriend who happened the be one of her employee's. Whom she thought was a friend, but she thought wrong.

"I got impatient." She whined, stamping her foot which made me roll my eyes. God woman, grow up. Niall can't be proposing to her, she's acting like a freaking kid.

"Laura, go wait in the car. I need to talk to Jenny, I'll be out in a few." Niall said to her.

"Bye bye Laurs." I childishly stuck my tongue out at her. She walked away with all the dignity she could pose, flipping her hair off her shoulder as she turned around which made me roll my eyes.

"Bye Jen." She retorted. "Niall's ex." She added.

"Bitch." I mumbled under my breath while Niall shook his head at both of us.

"Ladies, be nice to each other." He tutted.

"Bye Laura." I blew her a fake kiss. I wish Arabella was here to throw something at her, Arabella has a talent for that. I hope she's hit her before, multiples times. I would applaud her if she did.      

I looked to Niall then, who looked rather uncomfortable, shifting on his feet as he looked as though was trying to think on what to say to me. "Well, when were you going to tell me you were dating one of my workers?" I raised my eyebrows at Niall who went to say something but I cut him off, "No, actually, when were you going to tell me you were proposing to her?"

"I'm proposing to her?" Niall seemed just as shocked as I was when I heard her.

"Well, yes.." I said, a little less confidently. "She said you were.."

"Since when am I proposing to her?" He questioned.

"I don't know, since you bought her a ring?" I folded my arms, not sure if I believed him or not.

"I didn't buy her a ring.." He trailed off, looking rather befuddled. My expression soon mirrored his.

"Then how did she find a engagement ring if you didn't buy her one?" I frowned.

"Oh my God, your ring! It's upstairs, she must of found it!" He exclaimed and ran upstairs, coming back a few moments later with a box, opening it and showing me my ring. It was my ring indeed.

"You're proposing to her with my ring?" I put a hand on my hip and he rolled his eyes.

"I'm not proposing to her at all you ninny." Niall rolled his eyes. "I didn't throw this out, or sell it or anything yet and she obviously just found it and jumped to conclusions." He explained, running a hand through his hair and exhaling deeply.

"Why do you even still have it." I sighed, rubbing a hand over my face. "And why didn't you tell me you were dating Laura?" I questioned, furrowing my eyebrows.

"Cause.. you still .. you still want to be with me, don't you." Niall nibbled on his nail.

"No." I lied.

"I just didn't want to hurt you, you know, after all you've been through and that." He explained. I just bit on my lip to stop myself from crying. I wasn't upset about him dating Laura, it was the thought of Noah which brought tears to my eyes again.

"Well, it hurts more that you felt the need to keep this from me." I folded my arms and looked away from him.

"Jen, I'm really sorry, I thought this would help, I'm sorry it didn't. I'm sorry I hurt you and I'm sorry I moved on, but maybe it's time you do now too." He bit on his lip.

"I tried to move on." I started to cry. "I did, and you saw how that turned out." I balled my fists at my side. "I was hurt and now I'm scared to try again." I wiped my eyes quickly, not wanting to cry, but also, not able to stop the tears from rolling down my cheeks. "I'm scared." I whispered.

Niall bit on his lip and looked torn on what to do. He just pulled me to his chest and embraced me, rubbing my back in an effort to calm me down. It did calm me down, he always calmed me down. "Jenny, I'm so sorry." He rest his chin on top of my head.

"You were the only man in my life who ever treated me right." I whispered, burying my face in his chest. What I was speaking was the truth, he was the only man who treated me the way I should of be treated. I don't deserve to be hurt and walked all over. Niall never did that to me. He only ever made me happy.

"I'm still here for you, alright?" He sighed. "I'll always be here for you, we just won't be a couple." He looked away when he said that, as though he didn't want to say it. Maybe he just didn't want to see my reaction.

"Niall, I miss you so so much." I cried. "I miss lying in bed with you, cuddling you and just being with you." I told him, feeling as though I was reiterating myself over and over again, but there was no point hiding the truth. I do miss him in my life.

"I'm sorry Jen, but I don't think we can go back to that again. I mean, I'm with Laura, I don't mean to hurt you, but I can't hurt Laura either." He sighed deeply, running a hand through his hair.

"It's okay, I understand. You're happy with Laura, I'll back off." I sighed, biting on my lip as I pulled back from the embrace.

"Yeah.. happy." He sighed, not seeming too convincing but I didn't dwell on his tone of voice, a little too upset to really ponder on the thought.

"I really am sorry." I whispered. "For putting this all on you now and just being a - a bitch." I sighed.

"Oh Jen, you're not being a bitch." He cooed, taking my hand in his and squeezing it. "You're only telling me how you feel and you should do that, you should vent." He assured me. I just sighed once again and shrugged, not feeling as though this 'venting' had helped me very much. In fact, it may have just made me feel worse than I did to begin with.

"I know but it was just pointless." I shrugged as Niall wiped under my eyes gently, smiling at me softly. "I'll just leave now." I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "I wish you and Laura both the best." i sniffled quietly.

"Wait," He stopped me. "I promised Laura a surprise. She thinks the surprise is a proposal when in reality I have fuck all planned." He bit on his lip. I shrugged, looking up at him as though asking what he wanted me to do about that.

"And? What am I meant to do about that?" I sniffled, wiping my nose.

"Well what the fuck am I mean to do?" He asked me, looking rather worked up. i just shrugged and stared at him blankly.

"This is not my problem." I simply said.

"I know, but I'm panicking here and-"

"Just don't propose to her and her surprise can be like a balloon or something when you get back from your meal, I don't freaking know." I shrugged just as the front door opened and Laura came in.

"Oh for Gods sake Niall, what are you doing still talking to her?" She rolled her eyes.

"Don't be so rude." I snapped, not in the mood to deal with her now. God help me at work, I have to work with this bitch, everyday now.

"Niall is my boyfriend now, we are going out for dinner and he has a surprise for me, so come on Niall." She held her hand out to him.

"Yeah, a surprise." I snorted which made Niall glare at me, giving me a warning look. I put my hands up in defence while Laura just stared between the two of us.

"Laura, for Gods sake just go wait in the car, I told you I'd be out." Niall sighed deeply, running a hand over his face.

"No, I think I'd rather stay here." She folded her arms and looked to me. I just rolled my eyes and sighed deeply.

"Laura, I was trying to talk to Jenny on her own. You just told her something I should have told her." Niall looked over at her.

"What's the big deal?" She shrugged.

"For Gods sake, I should have told her that. She didn't want to hear you were dating me from you, the right thing would have been me tell her." He ran a hand through his hair and then rubbed the back of his neck. I just had to stop myself from smiling, he was giving out to her, of course I was going to enjoy this.

"I didn't know she was eavesdropping on my conversation." She shrugged, raising her eyebrows at me which made me roll my eyes.

"I was not eavesdropping, you knew fine well I was there." I retorted, which may or may not have been true.

"Oh my God, will you just leave already, Niall and I have a meal to get to, he doesn't even want you here." She sighed deeply, looking over at me. I can still make her cry in ten seconds.. Niall and I made out. If she steps any further I'm telling her and I will give zero shits.

"Laura, if Niall didn't want me here, he would have told me to leave already." I rolled my eyes.

"Girls, stop fighting, there is no need." Niall sighed deeply.

"Well she's being a bitch." Laura sighed. I was just about to tell her Niall and I made out, but then I realised something. Why would I do that to Niall? If he's happy, why should I sabotage that? I don't want to hurt Niall, but I will if I tell her.. I shouldn't sink to Laura's level.

"I'll just go get Arabella and we'll go home." I said, going upstairs to Bella's room and picking her up. She was sleepy, so she just rested her head on my shoulder. Either way, I handed her her dummy, she could throw this at Laura if she wants.. but I'm not encouraging her, just giving her the ammunition if she pleases.

When I arrived back downstairs, Niall and Laura were whispering to each other. I couldn't quite hear what it was, but I assumed it was about me.

"We're just going to go." I said, adjusting Arabella on my hip, in the hopes of waking her up a little so she would throw that pacifier in Laura's face. As you can tell, I'm very mature about the situation.

"Good." Laura snapped. "Niall and I were just talking and he was just saying how he wants you to leave already." Laura smiled sweetly.

My mind wasn't caught up with my mouth, because before I even knew it I'd said it. "Well, he didn't want me to leave twenty minutes ago when he made out with me." I said but instantly regretted it. Fuck, why did I just say that? That's just going to hurt Niall. Fuck sake Jenny. Think before you speak.

"What did you just say, you bitch?" Laura glared at me, while Niall glared at me too but his was out of anger.

Oh Jenny, why did you just do that?

A/N Hi guys !! I'm back haha ! It was nice to have a week off, but I'm glad to be back in action ! I missed writing !! But I had a good week, I cut my hair up short (which was a big deal for me considering it was down at me bum aha) and I even won an award at my school's award ceremony! I got an academic excellence award, no idea how, they called my name and I was like, right there must be another Amy Coll in my year lmao !
