Chapter 2: Starting Out
I get off the bus and walk into St. Vivian. This is going to be a great first day. I run and hurry to homeroom. My homeroom teacher, Mrs. Noah yells to the class.
"Get your homework buddies, pick your locker, and get schedules." She hands me my schedule; before I get a chance to look at me Parker Hannah walks up to me.
"Hi Cat!" He says in a cheery tone.
"Hello Parker!" I respond.
"What classes do you have?" I look at my schedule. I have all honors. This is very surprising, because last year I was so depressed that I got behind on homework. I still got good grades, but my behavior score was very low and that affects what classes you get in by a lot.
"I have all honors classes." I tell him.
"Lucky!" I have all regular classes."
"Class, make sure your homework buddy has the same schedule as you incase you get sick so they can give the homework your class was assigned." Mrs. Noah yells.
"Ahh, that means we can't be homework buddies." I say glumly.
"Yeah, well anyway, bye!" Parker runs off to talk to Christine Lily, the new girl. She is very nice and we were even partners during drama club this summer. I walk towards Ally Baker and Ashely Martin.
"Hi Al! Hi Ashely!" I wave to them.
"Oh Hi Cat." Ashely responds.
"Hi.'' Ally says.
"What classes do you have? I have all honors." I ask.
"I have all honors except Religion and Math." Ashely tells me.
"I have all regular classes." Ally says. I feel sorta sad. Ally and I haven't been as close as we were before, but I still try to be her friend.
"Well I guess we can't be homework buddies, Bye!" I leave. I run to Olivia Talo hoping she doesn't have a homework buddy. "Olivia, do you have a homework buddy?"
"Yes, Cecile."
"Oh. Well what's your schedule?"
"All Honors, You?
"Same. Well bye, I have to pick a locker." I take my lock and pick locker #159. I put my books in and sit in my seat and read a book. Then announcements came on. We said prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
I am feeling very happy today, so I volunteer to wash tables and bring attendance to the office. I walk down to the office and I feel someone is staring at me. I look up and I see an eighth grader, Ash Hetridge look away. I feel my face get warm. I brush it off. WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT! I hurry up and finish my job. As I get back to homeroom, the bell rings. Seventh grade here I come!
