I stepped through the doors of the Triskelion, aka S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters. It felt strange to be in the building of the people I hated most, even if Hydra had been slowly infiltrating the organisation from the late forties to early fifties. It still felt... wrong somehow. I shrugged internally and continued my purposeful strides, looking into offices and rooms as I went.

I walked through the mess of halls until I found the room I was looking for. Inside, many people were huddled around as Agent Sitwell talked at them from the front. Computers and monitors littered the room with flashing screens and beeping monitors. I sighed, leaning against the doorway, listening as he droned on at them. If I had to listen to Sitwell go on and on for more than five minutes I would probably have to either kill him, or rip out his tongue. Or both possibly.

"Shut down all runways. All security cameras in the city go through this monitor right here," he pointed to the screen behind him. Several eyes looked to the board and then back to him. "Scan all open sources, phones, computers, PDAs. Whatever. If someone even tweets about this guy, I want to know about it," he said authoritatively. He looked at the people gathered in front of him. I saw one of the woman near the front, a girl with blonde hair and a seemingly annoyed face bite her lip.

"With all due respect, if S.H.I.E.L.D. is conducting a man-hunt for Captain America, I think we have the right to know why," she said, much to the agreement of the other people around her. I sighed and stepped off the wall, taking small but intimidating strides toward them.

"Why you're conducting a man-hunt for Captain America is none of your concern. That's the job of your superiors," I said, waving my hand around and moving to the front of the group. "Your job is to-"

"Now, now, Miles. No need to be rude," said Alexander. He stepped out from the shadows. He smiled briefly at the people standing around before continuing. I could see the calculating gaze in his eyes and I set my lips in a thin line, not trusting myself to say or do something stupid. How long had he been here for? Obviously long enough. I had a feeling that the only reason he interrupted me mid-sentence was because he knows that I hate it.

"You're hunting down Rogers because he lied to us," he started. I narrowed my eyes at him. "The Captain has information regarding the death of Director Fury. He refused to share, and refused to come quietly," he walked around one of the desks and I watched him carefully. That meant that he knew that Hydra was inside S.H.I.E.L.D.... or was close to knowing. God only knows what he would do with that information.

"And as difficult as it is to accept, Captain America is a fugitive. Now, we need to find him and get that information. Agent Miles," he pointed to me and waved his arm carelessly in my direction. "Is in charge. Do as she says."

"Thank you sir," I said with a smile. I looked at the group of people who were now looking at me expectantly. I could feel Sitwell's glare piercing the side of my head. "Okay, guys! Let's get to work! I want eyes everywhere. ATMs, stores, carparks. Hell, lets put eyes in children's playgrounds. If there's even a hint of Rogers' whereabouts, get some of our men on it," I ordered, sitting down on a spare chair. Alexander had left once I started talking, disappearing back to his office no doubt and everyone else quickly got to work, not wanting to anger the woman with the blonde hair. This wig was awfully itchy. I had to force myself not to scratch at it every few seconds. As soon as I got out of here, it was coming off and I was burning it.

"Rumlow," I said in greeting to the man who had just entered the room. He looked over at me and grimaced. I could see that he was contemplating talking to me or not. He lost his inner battle and walked towards me.

"Miles," he said with an obviously fake, honeyed tone. "Why are you here?"

"Our good old boss, Alexander, has given me the reigns. I'm leading the sleigh here," I joked, setting my feet up on the desk for good measure. He groaned, hating that I had more power than he did. You know, now that I thought about it, there wasn't really anyone in Hydra that liked me. There wasn't really many people at all that liked me. Although I didn't exactly know that many people for them to dislike me in the first place.

"Go make sure everyone is doing their job," I said, waving a hand at him. He clenched his jaw but did so anyway, yelling at anyone in his way. I let out a breath, taking my phone out and bringing up a game. There wasn't really much I could do without being told a lead... and even then the Task Force would be sent to deal with it. Not me. Subconsciously, I wondered where the Soldier was. Stuck in his cell most likely. I didn't think we had any other missions for him at the moment. Either way, it must be better than this.

I played the game over and over. It was quite addicting actually. Because I was practically busy all the time, I never really had any spare time to play games on my phone. That didn't stop me from downloading them though. I really needed to get a life outside of work.

"Excuse me, Agent Miles," I heard a feminine voice say. I looked up to see a young woman with dark black hair pulled back into a bun looking at me nervously. I nodded at her, switching my phone off and shoving it in my pocket roughly, looking expectantly at her.

"Captain Rogers activated a USB that holds the information Mr Pierce was after. I've sent Agent Rumlow and his men to get him," she spoke timidly. I smiled and thanked her, telling her she could go back to her desk. She complied, scurrying off, a lock of hair falling from her bun. I shook my head. I knew I was intimidating, but not that much.

"Rumlow," I spoke into my Comm. There was a crackle, signalling he was listening and I rolled my eyes at his silence.

"Yes, Miles?" He asked. He sounded irritated. Probably because I was talking to him. To be honest I didn't blame him. I hated being talked to while on the job. I preferred to get it done and give the report later.

"Keep me updated. Pierce wants Rogers today, and I'd rather not disappoint him."

"Yes, Ms," he growled out. I laughed at his annoyed tone.

I looked up at the people sitting at their desks attentively. They had no idea what was growing right under their noses. For such a prestigious organisation made up of spies, they were really quite clueless. Some people were making idle chatter as they went about their jobs and I felt a pang of jealously. I wanted friends. It sounds like such a juvenile desire but it was true. I'd put my entire adult life into Hydra and I was only just beginning to realise what the effect of this was. My social life was practically non existent. The only people I regularly talked to was my boss or other members of Hydra. And even then, it was only for job related discussions.

I sighed, hating the fact that I couldn't really do anything from a desk. I was a field agent, not a pencil pusher. I sat back down and sighed again, rubbing at my forehead. We'd get Rogers. We had to. If we didn't, then I really wasn't sure what was going to happen.
