I woke up in a small room about the width of a bus. I could hear voices faintly speaking.

"There's something weird going on" an old woman's voice was saying.

"What is it", a young voice said. She couldn't be any older than 19

"His bones that he shattered are almost done healing in only two weeks" she looked around the room "that's not possible" she sat down on a desk and put her face in her hands with a sigh.

The young woman started walking towards me. I tried to play unconscious but that failed when she asked me "so... why is this?"

I looked at her slightly confused at the question. "I don't know" I said quietly. "I've always been careful about where I go because I don't have the money for things like this"

The woman turn away and walked back to the Dr. "see Dr. May it's just the drugs"

Dr May lifted up her head "there is no other explanation" she wrote something down on a clipboard and walked out of the room, leavening me with the young woman. She had long black hair and she wore a Jean jacket she was shorter that me but not by much.

She watched as the door closed and the Dr left. She swiftly turned towards us with concern. I looked at her and she took some steps towards me, keeping a slight distance. She looked around then looked at me. "Look I know you don't know me, but we need to leave now!"

I looked around "but—"

She cut me off "no buts, we leave now for both your safety and mine"

I thought for a second contemplating the results of me leaving before I was healed.

A scratchy voice echoed over a speaker "she said leaving isn't allowed... not until you have been tested"

the girl looked around startled at the voice. Then she looked back at me "We leave now"

I didn't know what to think or say but I looked at her and nodded. as I stood up from then Bed I felt a sharp pain in my chest.

She looked at me and quickly grabbed a bottle of pain pills off the table.

"Once we get somewhere safe" then she grabbed my arm and we quickly went out the window. Good thing we were on the ground floor.

We took a few steps through the black parking lot with grey lines hopped into a black Jeep.

"Don't worry it's mine" she said while turning on the booster engine we hovered in the sky for less than a second before she flipped the booster switch. And we flew off, most people in oblivion had hover cars but only the rich had the new models.

The one we were flying in was an old fashioned car that must have a stolen hover beam inside it.

As we went down the streets trying to look normal the girl looked at me.

"Sorry about that" then she looked back at the street "my name's Melody"

I looked at her then back at the street "my names Cole"

She shifted one hand off the week and into her pocket and lifted out the black bottle and handed it to me.

I looked at them and said thank you, I grabbed a pain pill and swallowed it dry because I still wasn't sure about asking for water.

I turned and looked at all of the buildings going by. I never really left my "house" besides to go look for food. So I hadn't seen much of the city.

As we drove on the buildings started to get smaller and they added more grey and less black. We stopped the car in front of a small store.

Melody looked at me "wanna come in,"

I looked at the store and hesitated before I said "sure"

As we went through the door there was a bell that started me a little, I followed Melody as she grabbed a few bags of black chips and four waters. She also grabbed something else in a solid black container most likely beef jerky.

We walked up to the crash register where there was a young man who scanned the food and water then grabbed the crisp 20$ bill from Melody's hand.

"So Melody what have you been up to recently"

She looked at the man "oh nothing much, I left my job at the studio, and I'm going job searching tomorrow."

She got all of the food in a small black bag and said bye to the cashier, we walked out of the store. As we walked to the car she looked at me and said "that's Spencer he has lived in oblivion for a while"

"Oh" I said, we drove for another 10 minutes in complete silence then stopped in front of a small dark grey house. And hoped out of the car I followed Melody into the building where there was a small kitchen, a working Tv, and lights. I was amazed.

I looked at her "do you think the people followed us?"

She turned around "nothing is forever, enjoy the moments that you have" then she walked up the set of stairs.

A few minutes later she came down with some pillows and blankets, she tossed them to me,

"You can sleep here" just don't go snooping

Things were starting to glow as I settled my things down on the black couch, once I was under the blankets I immediately fell into a mindless sleep.
