THE NEWS

The snow was capturing the area more and more, not caring about the tiny plants which were hidden under an eternity of whiteness. Everything looked like a sketchy chalk drawing, with the pale colours of the nature.

Dexter was glad that it was finally the weekend. He could go to Hogsmeade and drink some Butterbeer, beating the sharp cold with the warmth of the drink.

He got up early on that day. Marvin Blue and James McLaughlin were still asleep, Nate was probably studying in the common room with Lucy.

He lazily grabbed a pair of socks and a pair of jeans, not changing his topwear. He was way too tired for that, plus the cold was not letting him.

He walked into the common room- he was right. Lucy and Nate were the only ones in the room, with the spund of nothing but the fire cracking as furious flames danced on the chilly day.

The room was quite warm. Sunlight wasn't leaking in but the warmth of the fire and the atmosphere was enaugh.

Dexter felt as if someone was hugging him. He was not cold anymore, the temperature was perfect.

" Mo-ornin' " Dexter said yawning. He could barely keep his eyes open, if he could just sleep a little more...

" Good morning." Lucy and Nate replied at the same time. They kept flipping pages and writing things on their parchments.

Dexter threw himself on the cozy couch and bounced with his weight. He closed his eyes, trying to rest a little. He heard someone shutting a book up.

" Dex, wake up. We need to find a place to sit." Nate said. " You know that it will be crowded there."

Dexter sighed and opened his eyes. He blinked for a few times and then sat on the couch. Nate sat next to him. He suddenly slapped Dexter.

" Ouch!" Dexter rubbed his cheeks. " What was that for?" Nate shrugged. " To wake you up. See? It worked."

Dexter rolled his eyes. " Well thanks..." he mumbled sarcastically. Lucy giggled.

" Okay, let's go and get the others." Nate said, then stood up. Dexter and Lucy also stood up.

It was hopefully going to be a good day.

Hogsmeade was so crowded, even though it was so early. Everyone was looking for some gifts for Christmas, which was making Dexter feel uncomfortable. He felt as if the time was so limited- they still had a month for christmas.

Three Brooksticks was also crowded as expected. Dexter could barely hear himself talk.

" Why's it so crowded even though it's only 8 o'clock?" Albus asked, almost shouting so that his friends could hear him. Fred, who was trying not to hit people with his big body, replied to him:

" People are crazy, that's why!"

It was actually an accurate reasoning.

" Like- who would visit a bar in the morning? Students are okay, but the only students are us." Albus continued, as he managed to find an empty place. He sat on a chair, then sighed.

The rest of the gang also sat down. Dexter uncomfortably looked around, he hated crowds.

They all ordered their drinks, and literally dived into them. Because Dexter, Nate and Albus had sensitive skin, they had scratches on all over their faces and hands, so the Butterbeer was like a medicine for them.

The warmth of the drink was capturing Dexter more and more by every sip. His mouth was full of caramel and happiness, maybe a little bit of sunlight.

" So, have you guys heard about Scor?" Albus asked. James crossed his eyebrows. " No, why? Plus, why do you care?"

Albus shrugged. " His mother has died, as I heard... No-one has seen him since then." he said. There was an awkward silence.

Fred was the first one to speak: " So, when did this happen?" Albus sighed. " Like- a week ago. I'm so worried about him, I've had seen him right after him learning about his mother's death. It was horrible."

" You know, I also think that it is horrible that he has lost his mother but it still doesn't change the fact that he's a git." James said, wiping somebutterbeer off his mouth.

Albus scowled. " You don't even know him! He's actually a really nice person, stop prejudicing because of his name!"

James laughed. " What, are you his lover?"

Albus didn't say anything, his magic spoke. James' butterbeer rose rose and rose, then suddenly it splashed on his face.

" You little-"

Before he could take his wand out, Nate casted a protection charm and the Potters were both smashed on the ground with an invisible force.

" Stop it- Nate!"

Nate didn't free them. He just stared at them until they stopped writhing.

" James, stop it." he just said. Then he freed them.

They sat on their chairs, exchanging deathly glares. Their relationship wasn't always so good, because of James teasing Albus so much and Albus getting angry easily.

" If you ever do that to me-"

" SHUT UP!" Fred cut James' words. Dexter looked into his face. He would never do that... He would never say something about someone's bussiness or yell at someone. He was sensitive about fights, he would usually sit silently.

Dexter could see his eyes go red and watery. His bottom lip was shaking, as well as his big hands.

" I'm tired... I'm tired of your nonsense..." he said, his voice cracking like thin ice. He stood up, the top of his head almost hit the wooden ceiling.

He went out, carrying the weight of the stormy mood of the bar.

Dexter wanted to go talk to him, he also tried to stand up but Nate grabbed his wrist.

" Don't." he said. " He needed that. We'll go and see him after at least ten minutes."

They all sat in silence. There was still some Butterbeer left in Dexter's bottle, but he didn't want to drink it at that moment. He kept staring at his bruised fingers which were shaking heavily, both because of the stress and the cold.

Fred came back after approximately ten minutes. The top of his head was covered with snow, which were falling on his wide shoulders as he moved.

He had the Daily Prophet with him. Dexter realised that Fred's face was worse than before, and he was stumbling as he walked.

He slowly walked towards the them. He threw the Daily Prophet on the table. Dexter leaned forward to read the article which had Graffacia's photograph on it, meanwhile his heart was pounding in fear.

Nate blocked his way with his hand, which was shaking. " Don't read it." he said with a cold voice, Dexter looked into his bright green eyes.

" I want to read it." he said with a determined tone. Nate shook his head and took the Daily Prophet away. " No."

" NATE GIVE THAT GODDAMN THING TO ME, I GUESS I HAVE THE RIGHT TO LOOK AT OT AS A MUDBLOOD!" Dexter roared. Everyone was staring at them. The word "mudblood" was hung in the air like a victim.

Nate looked broken. He clenched his eyes, forced himself to give the Daily Prophet to his best friend.

Dexter quickly grabbed it. He started to read the article as fast as he could, Nate helped him to sit down.

3) Muggle-borns can not work in the Ministry.

5) Muggle-borns can not use magic when they are alone (A pure-blood is required)

Dexter didn't read the rest. He dropped the newspaper on the ground, leaned backwards for support. He suddenly felt dizzy.

He knew what would happen next. It was going to be like-

" The Holocaust..." he mumbled dreamily. James raised a brow. " The what?"

Dexter started to take deep breaths while Nate explained the Holocaust to James.

He did not want to believe. He couldn't...

Was it real life?

Dexter glanced at Fred. He was shivering not because of the cold, but the fear that he might lose his mother.
