Chapter 28

3RD PERSON POV

After Helene sent Asmodeus along with (Y/n), Mammon, Levi and Beelzebub, everyone looked around with surprised and shocked looks on their faces.

"Th...they're gone!" Luke shouted as he looked around.

"Oh dear. It looks as though they went inside the painting, doesn't it?" Simeon asked as he looked at the painting.

"See? They should have listened. I warned them that would happen!" Number Two spoke.

"*Sigh* One way or another, some annoying problem always has to come up doesn't it?" Lucifer asked. "Well, whatever. Let's continue the tour."

"Are you sure you should leave your brothers there inside the painting?" Diavolo asked him.

"Well, they've got Beel with them, so I'm sure they'll manage to make it out in time for dinner one way for another," Lucifer spoke without a worry in his tone as he walked away from the painting.

READER'S POV

"...(Y/n). ...(Y/n)" A voice called out to me from the darkness.

I slowly opened my eyes and Solomon's face appeared I saw by the time I came too. Raven was standing next to him and he had a worried look on his face.

"(Y/n)."

Raven whimpered before licking my face to try and wake me up. I groaned a little and I gently pushed Raven away from me.

"Raven get off..." I grumbled.

"Ah, good. You're awake..."

I sat up a little and I looked around to see where we are because the last thing I remembered was being pulling into that painting.

"Where are we?" I asked as Solomon helped me onto my feet.

"I'm not sure. I woke up and found myself here, same as you. Looks like we're the only ones here," Solomon explained as he also looked around.

"I don't like this place. It gives me the creeps," I told him as I looked around.

"Two humans alone together in an unfamiliar area of the Devildom...this isn't safe. I'd better go ahead and call Asmodeus over."

I looked at him with a confused look before I checked my D.D.D and I was right, I couldn't get phone service down here.

"How are you going to call him?"

"By summoning him. If you have a pact with a demon, you can call them to your side whenever you want. Though, I'm guessing it would be a difficult task for you, since you have almost no magical power. Here watch."

I watch as Solomon took a stance and then he started an incantation.

"...Hear me, denizens of the darkness, you who are born of shadow and you who give birth to it. Hear me and do as I command! I, Solomon, call upon you to send forth one of your number! I summon the Avatar of Lust, Asmodeus...!"

A bright light appeared and then Boom! Asmodeus appears out of thin air.

"D'AAH! Ow...that hurt..." Asmodeus complained after roughly landing onto the ground.

"...Solomon, how many times have I told you to be more gentle when summoning me? What if I had injured my face, hm? What then?" Asmo whined.

"Stop complaining, Asmo. This is your fault. ...Anyway, where are we?" Solomon asked him as he looked around.

"Don't ask me! From the looks of it, I'm guessing we're in that underground labyrinth or whatever that's supposed to be beneath the Demon Lord's Castle- the one Satan and Mammon mentioned," Asmo told us as he looked around.

"What happened to the others?" I asked.

"How should I know? But I'll tell you this much: We'd better find Beel before he gets REALLY hungry. We have to get him out of here, or we'll have a real problem on our hands. If he gets too hungry, he'll lose control and go on a rampage. He could end up destroying the entire castle, and then Lucifer would be SUPER mad!" Asmo spoke with a small frown.

"Hmm, I have to say, I'd enjoy watching Lucifer tear into your brothers for doing something like that. But yeah, I've got no interest in being involved myself. I guess we should start by finding Mammon and Leviathan, since they were sucked in as well," Solomon told us before we started walking.

"Hey Raven, can you sniff them out?" I asked Raven before taking off his leash.

"I'll try."

Raven told us before he pressed his nose to the ground and then he started sniffing. We watched Raven pace back and forth to pick Mammon or Levi or Beelzebub's scent until he finally raised his head.

"Well? anything?" I asked him.

"I'm picking up something but can't tell who's scent it belongs to, it's a bit faint," Raven told us.

"Well, it's better than nothing I suppose. Let's go."

Solomon told us as we followed Raven through the labyrinth. We walked for god-knows how long until Asmodeus started whining again.

"...Solomoooon, how far does this labyrinth go? Are you even sure we're going the right way?"

"Quiet, Asmo. You're the reason we're in this mess to begin with."

"Meee? It's not like I did anything wrong. (Y/n), you agree with me don't you?"

"Hell no! As soon as we get out of here, you're going to apologise to Helene," I spoke with a frown on my face.

"Apologise? Me? I'm sorry, but I'm not quite sure why you'd want me to do that. I mean, true, I suppose an entire country was destroyed in the end, but how could I have known that would happen, hm? It's not like I manipulated Helene, after all. I simply gave her an opportunity to have what she wanted, to unleash her inner desire. You see, everyone desires something. Everyone has lust in their heart. No matter how noble and saintly they may be, they're always keeping something locked up in there," Asmo explained himself.

"As hard as they may try to control it, deep inside they wish they could do what they want and have what they want. They're constantly fighting the urge to stop suppressing it, to set desire free," Asmo told me before he got in front of me before asking me.

"...And it's the same with you as well, isn't it, (Y/n)? I wonder...who is it you desire? What sort of decret, shameful thoughts are hidden inside that heat of yours? Why not let me help you reach inside and unleash it?" Asmo asked as he leaned closer to me.

"...Hey!" Solomon shouted as he pulled Asmo away from me. I sighed in relief and then Asmo glared at him.

"Quiet, Solomon. We're having a moment here."

"Are you sure now's the time for that?"

"Yes, things are just starting to get good..."

Suddenly, Raven started barking in the opposite direction before I asked him.

"What's wrong Raven?"

"Mammon, Leviathan and Beelzebub are being chased by a giant snake right now," Solomon told me before pointing in the direction where they were being chased.

"Wait what?" I asked before turning to look in the direction where the others were coming from.

"AAAAAH!"

"H-HEEEELP!"

"So hungry...can't...run..."

Levi, Mammon and Beelzebub shouted as they ran for their lives.

"D'AAAAAH!!" Levi Screamed

"OH MAN! OH MAN! OH MAN! OH MAN! IT'S GONNA EAT US! LIKE, FOR REAL!" Mammon shouted as a sapphire blue scaled snake chased after them.

"Wait. What's that thing chasing them?" Asmo asked.

"It's a snake, and a really big one at that," Solomon spoke up.

"Gah...it's giant. And disgusting! Ugh, I hate having to look at unattractive things," Asmo complained.

"Hey, now 'bout you stop talkin' and HEEEEEEELP!" Mammon shouted as he picked up the pace.

"I am a fan of eating, but I'm not interested in being eaten."

"As of we didn't already have enough problems as it is, they had to go and bring another one. Well we'd better get out of here."

"Get out of here and go where, exactly?!"

"Just shut up and follow me."

Solomon shouted as we made a run for it. We ran and ran through the labyrinth until we found a spot to hide from that snake. I shut the door behind us after running for our lives.

"...Looks like we managed to lose it somehow..." Asmo panted.

"Man...that is one persistent snake..." I panted before sliding down against the wall before sitting down on the ground with Raven next to me.

"Yeah, but what're we s'posed to do now, huh? You expect us to hide here forever?" Mammon asked after catching his breath.

"You're the one who woke that snake up, Mammon. You don't get to complain," Beelzebub told him with a frown.

"Hey, I didn't wake it up! I just saw a snakeskin lyin' on the ground and figured I'd sell it for a pretty sum! But when I tried to grab it to take it with me, it turned out there was still a snake inside! That's when that monster suddenly came after us, all mad'n stuff...!" Mammon explained to us.

"He's NOT a monster. He's Henry 1.0."

"What?" Asmodeus looked at Levi with a confused look.

"Henry...? Wait, you mean THAT Henry?!" Mammon asked with a surprised look on her face.

"Are you sure?" Beel asked him.

"I know Henry when I see him. And that is Henry, no doubt about it. I can't believe I'd find him down here of all places..."

"Henry? what are you talking about? I thought you already own a pet called Henry?" I asked Levi.

"He's talking about the pet snake he used to have. Every time Levi gets a new pet, he names it Henry."

"Umm...I want to say you're on your fourth Henry at this point, right?"

Beel and Asmo told me as they looked at Levi who started to explain to us.

"No you're WAY off. I'm currently keeping Henry 2.0. I kept Henry 1.0 in his glass case and took really good care of him, but one day he disappeared. How many years has it been at this point, I wonder...? He was in his case in my room that day, and the door and windows were all shout, yet he still managed to vanish without a trace. I looked all over for him. Later, when I moved rooms, I expected to find his bones. Every time I picked up something to move it, I was scared. But I never did find the remains of Henry 1.0. I don't believe it. I never thought I'd see him again...!" Levi explained to us before grinning like a child on Christmas.

"But here he is, alive and well - and he's gotten so BIG! Oh, it's such a relief. I'm so glad he's all right."

"Well I sure ain't!" Mammon spoke with a frown on his face.

"That makes two of us," I agreed with him.

"Anyway, I at least managed to snap a selfie with him as we were running away. Here, check it out!" Levi showed us the picture he took.

"You actually had time to take a SELFIE?!" Mammon asked with a shocked expression on his face.

"If he used to be your pet, do you think there's some way to pacify him?" Solomon asked Levi.

"Nope, no way. He looked like he'd forgotten me completely."

'I could try and stop him but, I don't think my skill to calm demons is going to work on a snake that big.'

I thought to myself before Asmo spoke up, "Well yes, I'd say so, considering he just tried to eat you..."

"We should attack it. We should take that thing down, then grill it up and eat it. I'm hungry," Beel suggested.

"No! I won't let you hurt Henry 1.0! And he's NOT FOOD!" Levi shouted with a frown on his face.

"Okay then, what SHOULD we do? If we don't do somethin' about that snake, we're never gonna get outta here," Mammon told us with a frown.

"We shouldn't use violence on an animal like that anyway. Big or small, I won't tolerate animal cruelty," I spoke with a frown.

"Thank you. (Y/n) is the only person making sense right now," Levi spoke with a grin.

"We didn't necessarily need to hurt Henry to get out of here. There's another strategy we could try," Solomon suggested.

"...Really? There is?!" Levi spoke with a smile.

"Oh Solomon, I knew you'd come up with something! Not only are you good-looking, you're smart, too," Asmo spoke with a grin.

"Thanks. All right, I'll be counting on you to make this work, Asmodeus."

"Huh? ...Me?" Asmo asked with a confused look.

"Ah, I see what he's thinkin! While that snake is chewin' on Asmo, the rest of us can make our escape!"

"Uh, no. That should be YOUR job, Mammon. As the stupidest one among us, it's only right."

"Oh no, nuh-uh! No feeding Mammon to Henry 1.0! He'll get a tummy ache!" Levi panicked.

"HEY! You guys are bein' REAL RUDE, ya know that?!" Mammon complained before Solomon told us his plan.
