Afterword

Had someone told me that on the 5th of December 2024 after nearly 2 years and 4 months I would finish the first draft of this story I would have honestly laughed it off, hurting deep down as I fell into another writer's block bound to stop me another 4 months at least.

But it happened, it actually happened. I was in the library of the city where I study when I finished it. I couldn't say a word, I couldn't cry - you know, people don't like it when you're loud in a library. So I got up, gathered all my things, went to the car and cried my heart out for a good 10 minutes straight. Thank god it was dark and nobody saw me, otherwise it would have seen as if I was having a mental breakdown (which idk in a way it actually was?) or maybe it looked like a girl crying after a breakup.

I started over 10 stories, most of them still here on Wattpad between unpublished drafts, fanfictions on old accounts and others on fanfiction.net (the memories I have of that site? Golden), but Oath of Steel is the first one. Hopefully from now on the first of many.

Is it the final draft? no. Will the ending change? probably? Will it become a completely new book when/if I ever start editing it? 100%

But the satisfaction of marking it complete? Nobody will ever take that feeling away from me.

Now that the first half of this boring monologue has ended I would like to take my time in thanking a few people here.

First of all. It's you Anna.

@AnnamitaMuscaria was the first that believed it in project, someone I met by pure chance while member of the book club Hunt of dreamland. In a way. OoS wouldn't have ended if she hadn't given it a chance. Anna, I will never have enough words to thank you for everything, for all the kind words on encouragement you gave me in the last 2 years. All those times where your reading easily made my day so much better. But you were never only a reader who gave me hope, you were a friend, a friend that was able to help me pull through all the times I wanted to quit this damned book. And you always will be that: a friend I know will always be in my heart. Thank you, Anna. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Next, of course, we have Alex.

@MiniMoxx Alex. Alex, Alex, Alex. You along with Anna were that made both me and the book see the ending of this long first journey. You always seemed to possess the knowledge that I was going to finish this book, even when I repetitively told you it was impossible and I always thought between myself and I that you were only giving false hope. You should know that you're one of the most inspiring people I've ever met, and like Anna I have no idea how it happened, but I'm both proud and honored of calling you my friend. By the way can't wait to start your book close to Christmas, and I already have prepared a good 2 boxes of tissues - yes, I know I'll need them if I daresay I know what you're capable of.

Now, one of my favorite humans.

@oxviola You have no idea how much I adore you, you amazing human. How much your comments, your kind words, your happy energy made me get up from bed and go back to continue writing this stupid all because of your super duper amazing words and cheer. I thank the Dreamland Community everyday for giving me the chance to met and bond with you. Like Anna and Alex you were always there, basically since day one. And if I was able to finish this book, be assured, it's even because of you. Thank you Ox, for being such an amazing friend to lean upon.

To you three, my most sincere thanks. If I'll ever go back to the Uk be assured, I'll try and find a way to met and hug each and every single one of you until you beg me to stop before I break a bone or two.

Thank you.

And of course thank you, to every single reader that ever gave this book a chance, I am forever in debt.

Well then, for now Rosa's tale has come to an end.

See you soon in book 2.
