"Damn you!" Harry laughed, throwing his head into the crook of his arm which rested on the wooden table.

Just moments before the curse, Harry and I had been strategically placing domino's to form the outline of a dog. That was, until I sneezed and the dominos seemed to jump in fright, by themselves mind you, then toppled over.

"Forgive me!", I cry, resting my forehead into the palm of my hand, "My body seems to betray me this evening."

"This evening? I should've known not to play such a nimble game with you, you've been rubbish ever since grade school!" Harry prods, beginning to swipe his hand across the table and bulldoze the pieces back into the tin box.

"You're finished?" I question, feeling quite guilty. Damn my sinuses.

"Indeed, I have a nap I need to attend to." He yawns to further prove his point.

With the pieces all back in the box, he exits the table and walks towards a chest that held all the activities and games he had. The brown, polished wood stood out from the pattered lemon paper that was glued onto the walls.

His tacky taste in decoration baffled me at first, but I grew accustomed to it a couple weeks after living here.

I was evicted from my prior house, and Harry was so kind as to welcome me in. I barely have to do any work around the house, besides tend to the dishes and the floors.

Harry scratched his head, shuffling the curls that sprang from his scalp. He arched his back as if to stretch, and began exiting the entertainment room.

"Wait, before you go," I hesitate, wondering about how he will take the news of my new job, "Its Imperative that we have a chat."

"Love, if its about the washroom and the toilet again, I assure you-"

"No! N-not about that," I rush, letting my embarrassment get the best of my tongue, "Please take a seat, this is good and bad news."

A confused yet curios look forms on his face, and he joins me back at the table. He waits for me speak, placing his arms on the table and intertwining his fingers.

"Before I continue, I just want to thank you for all that you've done for me. I cannot fathom how much I owe you." I pause and look at his face which displayed furrowed brows and a smirk, accompanied by the wave of his hand.

"I love it here, I honestly do. However I'm scheduled to leave quite soon. The ninth of this month, actually." I reveal, biting the inside of my cheek as a nervous habit.

The look of heartbreak on his face crushes me, making me regret the words I let escape my mouth.

He does a good job at masking his emotions, yet his eyes tell all.

"Is my cooking that horrendous?," He awkwardly laughs, "I told you, lettuce and mustard was a one time thing."

"Oh golly, my plan has been soiled," I lightly chuckle, "But I actually got a new job."

His eyes nearly pop out of their sockets and his lips curl into a giant grin. "Niall, what splendid news! I'm so proud of you."

"Thank you, Harry. I'm just as eager as you, but I'm going to miss you very much. My position requires me to move into the facility, working all day. I'm hoping to work off the debt that Greg has accumulated for me." I explain, pouring my plans out to Harry.

He tilts his head slightly at the fact of living in the facility, but a small smile replaces it when I mention working off my debt.

"Wise, I'm very happy for you! While you're away, we must keep in contact. I have a collection of old stamps I can use, I wish to hear from you each week. We shall visit whenever possible," He rambles, planning quickly but losing steam towards the end, "May I ask, what place requires their employees to stay overnight?"

"Oakdale.", I inform, "I had a brief discussion with a representative the previous Monday."

"Oakdale as in Oakdale Mental Asylum?" The tall man questions, rasing a brow. His arms recoil from the wood and rest back on his lap, and his back sits perpendicular to the ground.

"Indeed." I nod, not liking his body language.

"I'm not sure, Niall.", He faulters, avoiding my gaze, "I'm glad you've found a new job, but I'm not sure that work environment is suitable for you."

"Really?", Now its my turn to tilt my head, "What've you heard about it?"

"Just...the practices they perform on their patients, the conditions the whole place is in, plus multiple people die each day from some form of sickness. I'm sure its unhygienic with so many people and the bodies cant be transported away very quickly. I'm not sure, I just think you should find another job. You're welcome to stay here as long as you want." He finishes, a regretful look on his face.

Its hard to breath when your heart is in your stomach, awful conditions? Dead bodies? What kind of place was this?

Stupid, Niall. You should've done more research on this place, you could've rented a book from the library or read the recent postings in the paper.

I nod, thanking Harry for his knowledge and kind words, but I cant bring myself to tell him that I've already agreed to working there.
