Chapter 58

A/N: Should I tell you when to play the music? Me thinks so.

~~~
I stared at Alex.
His normal calm composure was not present.
I sat up normally.
"Alex, what's going on?"
He hurried to sit up as well.
"I just want you to move in, is all. Since we're together and that,"
"Alex, tell me the tru-"
"And its efficient cause you're an adult now, its time to move-"
"Alex,"
"Plus then you can keep seeing the boys often and that,"
"Al-"
"And you can bring over Matty and George, they're alright you know?"
"A-"
"SARAH PLEASE!" he shouted.
I jumped back.
He froze and ran his hands through his hair, scooting closer to me.
He reached out and grabbed my hands.
"Sarah O'Malley, do you trust me?"
"When you act like this I d-"
"Sarah..." He begged, letting his head hang.
"Yes. I trust you."
He looked up and into my eyes.
"Thank you," he breathed, looking relieved.
He put his hands on either side of my face.
"You're beautiful."
I felt a heat fair against my cheeks.
"I have a surprise for you later." He smiled.
It felt weird that he was forcing the subject to be changed, and I was suspicious, but maybe its time I talk to Nick.
Or Jamie.
Just... Someone.
"Oh really?" I asked.
He sat back.
"Yeah. But, like I said, you have to wait until later!"
I stuck my tongue out at him.
He smiled.
His eyes went wide all of the sudden and he sat up.
"You brought me cookies!"
"That I did, that I did."
He got up and looked for where he put them.
"Where..?" He moved around the couch.
He hit his foot against the couch and fell over.
I couldn't help but laugh.
I covered my mouth as I giggled, listening to him groan.
His arm came up, in his hand was the bag of cookies.
"Found them, though."
"Get up, you goof." I laughed.
"You're not gonna help me?"
"Nope." I replied.
He groaned again and slowly picked himself up, but setting himself against the couch instead of on it.
I laid on the couch so that my head was near his.
He opened the bag, and ate a cookie, letting out a sigh of content.
A James Dean movie was on the television, so he turned it up and we watched, gladly.
I snuck a hand into his hair at some point, running my hands through his locks, scratching and massaging his head.
He leaned back into the touch of my hand.
At some point, I stopped paying attention to the boy with the thorn in his side, and stared at Alex's profile.
He was so handsome.
He was so sweet despite having gone through hell.
I wondered what he was thinking about.
I started listing things that I loved in my head.
His jaw
His eyes
His nose
His lips
His widows peak
The way his hair fell slightly into his face
How caring he was
How he was protective, though sometimes it was too much
How he spoke
He he read dictionaries for fun
How he played guitar
How he loved cookies
How tough yet soft he was
How much he loved the band
I could go on forever.
~~~

Alex was asleep now, so as quietly as I could, I got up and stepped into his backyard, pulling my phone out if my pocket and dialing Nick.

After a few rings he picked up.

"Hello?"

"Hi brother."

"Hey, Sarah! What's happenin'?" He asked.

"Nothing. I'm at Alex's... He fell asleep."

"Ah, yeah. He just got back yesterday, didn't he?"

"Yeah."

"Mm..."

There was a few seconds of silence.

"So, what's wrong?"

He always knew.

"I just, have some stuff that I need to talk to you about, but I don't want to say it over the phone."

I'm sure he nodded, but realized I couldn't see him.

"Alright, when do you want to meet?"

"Not today... Maybe tomorrow?"

"Alright."

"Thank you. I love you." I said.

"I love you, too."

"Bye."

"Bye."

I looked up to the sky and took a deep breath in.

I sighed and walked back inside, making sure to close and lock the door behind me.

~~~
"Are we there yet?" I asked.
"Not yet." He giggled, glancing over at me for a moment to offer a smile.
He stopped walking and I stopped, looking at him.
"You alright?"
He smiled.
He turned around and bent down a bit, using his hands to motion that I was to climb on his back.
I smiled and did just that, putting my hands on his shoulders as I jumped onto his back.
He jumped up a little, to get a better hold on me, and I wrapped my arms around his neck, resting my head against the side of his.
(You could play the music now I guess)
I kissed his cheek quickly and he turned his head to smile at me, a pink tint to his cheek.
Eventually we reached our destination, which turned out to be a picnic in a large park that I'd never been to before.
He had put me down gently, and not many words were spoken as we ate, looking at each other with smiles and love in our eyes.
It was like a game of tag.
I'd be watching him and he'd look up and smile, to which I'd look down and laugh.
I'd look up at him and he'd look down, letting out a breathy laugh.
We watched people walk along the trail in the distance , we watched kids run about.
I remembered the first time I'd seen Alex.
All my memories ran through my head quite often.
I smiled and moved the basket over, scooting closer to Alex, as to lean against him.
It was almost instant that he wrapped his arm around me, pressing a long kiss to my temple before backing up, and taking another bite of his sandwich.
"You didn't have to do this." I commented.
"I wanted to." He replied, playing with my hair a bit.
"Thank you."
"Its nothing."
I took my hand and placed it on the other side of his face.
I turned his head, and looked straight into his eyes.
"Thank you." I said, stressing each word.
He looked between my eyes for a moment before dropping his sandwich in the napkin and placing both of his hands on either side of my face before pressing his lips to mine passionately.
This is the Alex I loved.
This is the one I will always love.
