Chapter 51

"He's not yours."

The words were there, clear as day infront of me.

"He's not yours."

My hand began to tremble, so I threw my phone across my bed, and pressed myself against the wall, as if the phone would kill me.

Thoughts and ideas, theories, suspicions, they ran loose in my head of what this could mean, who it was by, who they were talking about.

Van, what if it were Van?

Matty? Could this be George?

Jamie? Could it be Christine?

No, they... They wouldn't do that.

What if it was Van?

Who would he be talking about?

Who would anyone be talking about? They all know how much I love...

Alex.

It had to be about him.

Or, was it from him?

Was he talking about Van?

Alex wouldn't do this, though!

But he knew that Van had a crush on me.

Maybe he did send it?

But... Why would he?

I'm already his!

It... God, he just wouldn't.

I squeezed my eyes shut and put my hands in my hair.

It was 4 in the morning.

Who could I call?

I didn't want to call Matty on the off chance that he was sleeping at this hour for once, though the likely hood was that he was laying in George's arms, or sitting in the asleep boys lap while he smoked.

Nick would most definitely be asleep.

So would Jamie and Matt.

Van would probably be asleep.

But, he might be my best bet, despite not wanting to wake him if he was.

Now came another problem.

I didn't want to touch my phone.

I was-despite how simple this seemed-scared.

The text was from a blocked number, so I wouldn't even be able to ask anyone if they knew the number.

I squeezed my eyes shut, and took a shaky breath.

When I opened my eyes, small tears fell down my cheeks.

I touched my phone, and clicked away from the text as fast as possible, then I dialed Van's number.

I held the phone up to my ear and was literally scared by each ring that I heard.

I didn't like talking on the phone.

No answer.

I got no answer.

I hung up quickly and threw my phone again, curling up against the wall as I sniffled.

"Get ahold of yourself!" I whispered to myself.

Just then, my phone rang and I jumped, letting out a short scream before I covered my mouth.

Incoming Call; Van

I grabbed my phone, accepting the call and pressing it to my ear.

"Sarah?" His groggy voice rang out.

"Did I wake you?" I asked, my voice wavering.

"Sort of, I wasn't really asleep but I wasn't particularly awake. What's wrong?" He asked, a yawn following his words.

"Van, I'm scared." I said, my voice cracking.

"Are you okay?" He asked after a moment, voice much more attentive and awake.

"I got a text." I started.

"It says 'He's not yours.' The number is blocked and I don't know what it means or who It's about and I'm just scared-"

"Sarah!" Van interupted.

"It's just a text..." He said.

Though, I could feel the regret in his words already.

"That's not the point, Van. I don't know who this is about. I do not know who sent it. I dont know how this person got my number. I don't know, what will happen if I ignore this." I replied.

"Sarah..." He seemed at a loss for words.

"Are you sitting in the dark?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Turn on your lights."

I slowly moved, and turned on my lamp that illuminated the room.

"Is your window open?"

"Yes."

"Close your window, draw the curtains shut.

With trembling hands and legs, I moved to the window, and closed it.

"It's shut."

"Go to your bed."

I walked back to my bed.

"Okay."

"Under the covers." He instructed.

I got under the covers, getting as comfortable as I could.

"You're safe, alright?" He said, his voice soft and low.

I nodded, despite the fact that he couldn't see me.

"You're safe, and I won't let anything happen to you. Neither will anyone else. You have me, Matty, George, Adam, Ross, John, Jamie, Matt, Nick, you have the girls, you have Alex, you have your parents... You're safe." He said.

At this point in time I was much calmer.

It was around 5ish now, and Van had done one hell of a job in calming my nerves.

"Are you going to tell Alex?" He asked.

"I should, shouldn't I?" I wondered.

"Yes, you should. I'd tell Nick, too."

"Yeah... I don't Want to go around telling everyone... I don't know whose done it."

"You should at least tell Nick and Alex, and even Jamie. You should yell the boys, and I'm sure you could tell Matty as well. He seems supportive."

I nodded, biting my lip.

"Yeah, you're right... Who should I tell first? And where?" I asked.

"Id say start close. Nick and Alex. Just do it when you see them next." He said, yawning at the end of his sentence.

"I'm sorry, I've kept you up. Thank you." I said.

"It's no problem... Stay safe, yeah?" He said.

"I will. Bye."

"Love you."

"Love you, too." I reply.

Then he hung up.

I reached over and turned off my lamp.

I'd like to try and get a bit more sleep.

I'll probably go to Alex's house today, and talk to him about it, and maybe call Nick over.

I thought it over a bit in my head.

I wonder if this person will send anymore?

If they do, well... This is going to be interesting.

First thing is first I need to tell Alex and Nick... Who knows, maybe they can help me figure it out?

It seems unlikely but I suppose the positivity would do me well.

I stared at my phone for a moment longer, and it vibrated, signaling that I had another text.

I simply set it screen down on my dressed, rolled over, and closed my eyes.

I have a bad feeling about this.
