Chapter 39

Van had later told me to invite Alex and the boys, too.

I was sitting on the couch with Alex, now.

He must have been comfortable, he was in a tank top and boxers.

"Fancy coming to Van's house warming party? It's in a few days." I offered aloud.

"Sure, why not?" He said, slouching over and laying his head in my lap.

He adjusted himself cozily on the couch and he continued to watch the television.

I stayed rather still, and after a few moments, Alex reached up, grabbing my hand and putting it on his head.

I chuckled lightly and began running my hand through his hair.

It didn't take long before he was practically asleep.

He was so peaceful.

Id felt insanely close to him over the past few days.

Closer than all of the years I've known him.

Over the past few days, especially with that kiss, I'm so amazed at how I've been able to just barely keep my calm.

On another note, I really think this is so much more than a crush.

I used to think Alex would be the apple of my eye for a long time and then he'd fall for someone else and I'd be heart broken for a while and maybe get over it. Maybe give Van a chance.

But that was not going to happen.

I was, dare I say, absolutely in love with him.

Maybe not to the point that I could be, but I was certainly at the starting point.

And, he was giving me hope.

The hugs, holds, caring, the kiss.

These had to be signs that he had feelings for me, or at least, I hoped that they were.

I leant down, pressing another soft, delicate kiss on his temple as I continued to push his hair back.

The hours went by faster than I could have imagined, and soon, he was awake again, and we were both standing up and stretching.

"I hate to leave... But I should probably stop at home for a while. I've been gone for a few days. And you look healthy now." I smiled, feeling awkward.

"Oh no, It's alright. I dont want your mum or dad to get worried like I've kidnapped you or summat." He laughed.

Deja vu.

"Alright." I smiled.

We started to walk away towards the door.

"Wait," I stopped. "Are you going to be okay? I don't want to... I don't want to intrude, but you've been zip about what happened. I just want to know that you'll be okay." I said, looking up at him.

He stared into my eyes.

"I'll be alright. I promise. And if I'm not, I'll come straight to you." He said.

I promise.

I nodded, biting my lip and looking away.

"Wait," he said, running out of the room quickly.

When he came back, he had this black sweater with him.

"It looks chilly out there." He said, pushing it into my hands.

I tried to keep my blush to myself.

"O-Oh, thank you." And he watched as I slipped it over my head.

As I pulled it, I inhaled, and it smelt so strongly of him that I could have fainted.

Once it was over me, I smiled.

"I'll see you later, then." I smiled.

"Alright." He replied.

We walked to the door and I opened it.

"Thank you, for taking care of me, god knows I couldn't do it myself," he chuckled. "And thank you for keeping me company. Even if I didn't say much I did appreciate you being here." He said, pulling me into his arms. His voice was like it usually was, but with a hint of some undertone that i couldn't quite make out.

He was a bit shaky.

We hugged tightly.

He kissed my cheek softly, and then I turned to leave.

Just as I took the first step, I felt a hand meet my wrist.

"Wait,"

I was pulled back and suddenly, my face was grabbed and lips met my own.

My eyes snapped shut and i kissed back immediately.

If I could scream, I'd do that.

When we parted, my face was probably redder than the color offered, and Alex smiled, but it wasn't a normal smile.

This smile was sad.

"B-Bye..." I mumbled, offering my best awkward smile and leaving.

I didn't hear the door shut until Id reached the side wall, and I wrapped my arms around myself.

I am wearing his sweater, and I just got kissed by the man.

A smile sat on my lips as I walked home happily.

Once I was there, I sat with mum and dad for a bit before my phone rang.

"Hello. This is Matty Timothy Healy, and George Bedford Daniel calling. We requesteth your presence in our abode." Matty's posh accent rung out in my ear.

I smiled.

"And wherest dost thou live? I must knoweth how to bring myself to your Abode, you know?" I replied.

"Don't worryeth, my fair maiden, look outward of thine tower!" He exclaimed.

"No way." I said in disbelief, a smile on my lips.

"Yes way." He replied.

"Honk two times quickly then one time."

Honk honk...honk!

"You're horrible." I laughed.

With a quick goodbye to mum and dad, I jogged outside, hopping in Matty's car.

"First of all," I started, putting on my belt.

"What would you have done if I said no?" I asked.

Matty shrugged. "Kidnapped you." He replied.

I laughed.

"Also, you don't seem like the driving type." I eyed him.

"George does the majority of the driving but I felt like it today." He shrugged.

"Speak of the devil." I said, turning in the front seat and looking at George.

"Hello!" I smiled at him.

"Hi." He smiled back, his deep voice ringing through my ears.

I turned around and Matty began driving towards their flat.

We talked the majority of the time, about random things and just catching up.

But, I told Matty and George that I'd save the serious stuff for when Matty couldn't freak out and drive us off a bridge.

I love these boys.
