Chapter 32

Arriving at the park was nice.

I was first out the car, climbing over Alex to get to the door.

He laughed at me.

I ran out and looked around the park, all the memories flooding back as warmth filled my body.

We all sat in one area, set up with blankets and such.

I got up, walking around.

I picked up twigs like I always did and tossed them about.

As I walked around the park, I looked back at the group. I then continued to walk, and went behind a few hedges, finding the field of trees.

I began to walk down the path fondly, when I spotted a man, sitting against one of the trees.

He had a lap full of white daisies.

He was intertwining them into his curly brown hair.

Some of them kept falling, so I walked over, and looked at the young man.

He looked about the boys' age.

"Hello." I greeted him.

"Hello." He said, looking up at me with curiosity.

"Do you want some help?" I asked, pointing to the flowers that had fallen from his hair.

He nodded quickly.

"What's your name?" I asked, sitting down cross legged infront of him.

I was fairly close to him but he seemed friendly. He let off good vibes.

I grabbed a flower from his hand and began working It's slender stem into his hair.

"I'm Matt Healy. Call me Matty." He said, giving me a sweet smile.

"Hello, Matty. I'm Sarah." I said.

"I like your name." He said.

"I like yours." I said back.

"You're not from around here. You from Manchester? You sound to be just outside of it." I said, working in a few more flowers.

"I am. Just from outside the city." He said.

We chatted and spoke for a few minutes.

He kept going on about this lad called George.

He said that George was here with him, but his voice fell low when he told me that George was on the phone with some girl.

"I like you. You're nice." I said, finishing my work.

"Done."

"Cheers." He looked at himself in his phone.

"You're a goddess. I hate when they don't stay and this is perfect." He said.
"No problem!" I cheered.

He was gorgeous. He really was.

His deep eyes that changed color from chocolate to hazel were deep and intricate.

His skin was perfectly toned, his hair perfectly curly.

Much curlier than mine.

They were tight curls, actual tendrils.

I noticed the few freckles that were scattered about his face. His all black apperal was endearing.

I hadn't notices that I was staring until he began to lean in.

His eyes were looking into mine, and I froze as he looked down at my lips.

He slowly pressed his perfectly pink lips to mine and kissed me.

I kissed back for a moment, then he backed up.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have..."

"It's okay." I said quickly.

He was cute. It's not like I wasn't a little blushy.

"You're gorgeous, really, I just..." He scratched the back of his head. "Lonely, I guess." He said.

"You know what I think, Matty?" I asked, grabbing his hand.

"I think you love this George fellow." I said.

From what he spoke of him, he thought very highly of him. He spoke in such a way that made it obvious that he valued George, and held him high in his heart and mind.

Matty's eyes went wide.

He gulped as he looked down.

We stayed silent for a while.

"Oh my god..." He murmured.

He covered his mouth.

He looked like he was about to cry.

"Hey," I said, scooting closer and wrapping an arm around him.

"No, Sarah... I think..." He said, closing his eyes and taking a few deep breaths.

"I think you're right." He said, opening his eyes.

I smiled at him. He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me.

"You're right... I just... I dunno how he'll react." He said as we parted and he pouted.

"Don't worry about it. If he thinks as highly of you as you do of him, I'm sure the out come will be in your favor." I said.

"You're a goddess." He repeated, pecking my lips.

I was a little surprised.

"Sorry, old habit." He shrugged.

"I'm gonna find him. Ehm, here, put in your number. I'd love to stay in contact with you." He said, handing me his phone as he stood, and then helped me up.

I entered my number, name, and even took a photo to set as the icon.

"Thank you, love." He said.

"Good luck, Matty." I smiled.

He nodded and jogged off, out of my view.

I smiled after him and took my moment of silence. I stared up at the trees, my hands hooked infront of me.

Suddenly, I heard a twig snap and before I could turn around or react, arms wrapped around me and lifted me up, spinning me around.

I yelped, extremely startled.

When I was set back down, I jumped forward and turned around to see who the perp was.

It was Alex.

"Jesus," I muttered. "Scared the living day lights out of me." I told him .

He smiled. "Sorreh'."

"It's alright, but you suck." I said, hitting his chest.

He chuckled.

"Why are you all the way out here by yourself?" He asked.

"Why are you?" I eyed him warily.

"I was looking for you, now why are you?" He asked.

I shrugged. "I know this park."

He looked down and shook his head.

"Care to show me around, then?" He asked, sniffing and stuffing his hands into his pockets.

"Sure," I smiled. "What do you want to see first?" I asked.

"Dunno. You pick." He said.

I bit my lip and looked into his eyes, mentally arguing with myself about where to go first.

He gulped and looked into my eyes.

His eyea flickered down to my lips, then back up to my eyes.

I looked down for a moment, but when I looked back up he looked away.

"How about the pond? It's my favorite part, anyway." I offered.

He brought his hand up, motioning to me. "Lead the way."

I grabbed his hand and began to lead him off.

God, I was holding his hand.

Score one for me, I suppose.
