Chapter 28

We had spent quite a few hours in the dining hall, all just talking and enjoying one anothers company.

We then decided to go back upstairs.

Simply resting up for the show seemed like a good option, and it was one that the boys had taken to over the past month.

I'm sure in the future, they'd go out more.

As we all pushed in our chairs, I glanced over at Alex.

He stretched and then slowly began moving.

I went up behind him as we all began walking out of the room.

I placed my hands on his shoulders, then jumped up, wrapping my legs around his waist.

His hands quickly went to the back of my knees, holding me in place as I gently wrapped my arms around the front of his body.

We made it to the elevator and he leant against the wall, pressing me between it and his back.

When no one was looking, and while they were absorbed in conversation, Al planted a soft kiss on my arm.

I knew he meant to comfort me in the elevator.

It certainly worked.

I suddenly felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, against my leg, and I sat there in shock for a moment.

This couldn't be good.

Not after the way I caught him this morning.

His head seemed to go down, as if to look at his pocket.

I simply nuzzled my face into his neck, not even wanting to think about what strange person might gain his attention so greatly.

I thought that he leant his head against my own for a moment.

The doors open and he carried me all the way until we were inside.

He walked me over to the couch, and dropped me down on it softly.

"Scuse me..." He murmured as he grabbed his phone from his pocket and stepped outside.

"Whose he been talking to?" Jamie finally broke the silence after the door had been shut for quite some time.

Should I say something?

Perhaps AM could mean something... To them...

Maybe they could figure it out.

I jogged over to Nick, crawling next to him on the bed and whispering.

"I saw his collar I.D. it said AM."

When I backed up, Nicks eyes were a bit wide.

He bit his lip, looking at Me with an odd sadness in his eyes.

Pity, almost.

"What? What does that mean?" I asked.

He looked down. "Dunno." He bit his lip.

He knows something.

I sighed and fell back on the pillow.

My respect for people overpowered my curiosity, and if there was something that I shouldn't know about, or it was a private matter, Id usually stay out of it and respect it.

"My head hurts!" I sighed.

"Don't think you've been drinking enough water." Nick said, pulling me to his chest.

He ran one of his hands through the hair on the top of my head.

"I have hardly seen you drink any." He said.

I sighed, hugging my brother.

"I suppose you're right." I said.

Mostly, I thought that it was because of all that's happened to me and all that is happening currently.

Couldn't be too sure, though.

~~~
We were at the show now.
Alex hadn't left the balcony for quite a few hours.
When he finally did, he sat on the couch next to me, but only for so long before he began to fidget and left to go back to his room, claiming to be tired after eating.
We were all in the green room, and all the boys were warming up, except Alex.
He was sitting on the couch along with Van and I.
Well, he was sitting on the couch across from us.
After a while of small conversation, without the participation of Alex, he moved, laying down on it and putting his back to us as he began to take his usual nap before the show.
I looked at his stiff figure.
I bit my lip.
I was rather worried about him.
After maybe 10 minutes had gone by. Most of the boys had gone out into the corridor, chatting with the crew.
It was only Alex, Van and I in the room.
In his sleepy state, he curled up a bit.
I sighed.
We had been silent since Alex fell asleep.
I let my worry eat me up over the past few hours.
I sighed and got up from my spot on the couch.
I sat down infront of Alex's sleeping figure and brought my arm up carefully, running my fingers through his hair.
Van got up from the couch, and walked around behind Me.
He rested his hand on my shoulder for a moment before he gave me a small, understanding smile and he left the room, closing the door softly.
I exhaled softly and continued to run my hand through his hair.
"I just want you to be okay." I whispered gently aloud.
Another few minutes had gone by.
Alex rolled over, scooting his head over so that it rested closer to mine, so I rest my head a top his.
A few more minutes later, he opened his tired eyes.
"Jus' come up here already." He slurred.
Had he known my presence next to him the whole time?
He sat up a bit and pulled me over.
I sat on the couch and he laid his head in my lap as he yawned.
His breath fanned my leg and I blushed a bit.
He mumbled something that I didn't quite hear.
"What?" I asked.
He grumbled and reached up, grabbing my hand.
He placed it in his hair. "Keep doin' that."
I had to resist the urge to giggle.
I ran my hand through his hair and he fell asleep almost instantly.
~~~

After the show had ended, id gotten the boys water and we were all in the green room.

They were changing and I was chatting with Van.

"Oh! I forgot to tell you..." He said.

"Tell me what?" I asked.

"I'm moving to Sheffield." He smiled.

"Van! Oh my god! No way!" I jumped on him and hugged him half to death.

His arms wrapped around my waist as he pulled me close and tightly against him.

"Some of my mates live around there anyway, so we're thinking of getting the band back together."

I let go of him and kissed his forehead.

"Thats awesome!"

Van chuckled.

A cough sounded from behind us and I turned around to see Alex.

"Sorry." He said, as if he had interupted something.

"Don't be sorry. You haven't done anything!" I laughed.

"Feels like it..." He murmured, walking across the room as he pulled a cig from his pack.

He left the room quickly.
