-3rd Person-

Dan knocked on his sister's bedroom door and waited for a reply but there was nothing so he opened and peeked around. Jenny had her head phones in but took them out when she saw the door opening.

"Dan? Hey." Dan walked further in and closed the door behind him. "What's up?" she wondered and He thought about how to phrase his next words.

"So I have something that I want your opinion on. I figured your the only person that's not gonna give me a lecture about it." He started off.

"Sounds interesting. What is it?" Jenny tapped her bed suggesting he come sit next to her.

"I know what I'm gonna say sounds insane but the idea of it has been driving me insane and I needed to talk it through with someone."

"Okay now you have to tell me. Spill." Jenny encouraged she knew it must have something to with Rose, only girls could get him this wound up and Rose was the first answer that came to mind. Dan struggled to get the words out.

"Dan, tell me."

"I think I want to propose to Rosie. No, I know I want to propose to her." he stated

"Oh. my. god. Dan!" Jenny squealed hugging him "Are you serious, how serious are you? Like at what stage in your head are you sure about this?" Dan dug into his pocket and handed her a small box, she took it and opened it.

"That's....that's beautiful. This must have cost a fortune."

"All my savings, you know that thrift shop where Dad spotted the ring he was going to give to Lily?" she nodded "That just came in, apparently the owner caught her husband cheating and removed it that same day. Is this insane? Is it too soon? Am I just mad buying a ring when we haven't even discussed that part of the future yet? Maybe I should take it back."

"No, no way. I will hurt you if you take it back." Lily opened the door

"Is everything okay, i heard shouting?"

"Yeah, fine." they both replied in sync causing Lily's suspicions to arouse

"Okay, now I know something's going on. I'm going to find out eventually, so you might as well tell me." Dan shakes his head but Jenny can't resist

"Close the door."

"Jenny, no." Lily does so and Jenny takes the ring box over to Lily and shows her it. Lily gasps taking the box and looks up at Dan.

"Please don't lecture me, it was...I just....I don't know."

"Are you having doubt's already?" Lily wondered

"No about actually doing it, just on the timing. i mean we've barely been dating two years and I know that it's crazy."

"Have you told your Father?"

"No, and I don't want to, not yet anyway. I just need to wrap my head around the details." Dan sighs standing up and taking the ring back, slipping it back into his pocket.

"Well, I think that the idea is marvellous. And if you are sure then don't wait. Your father and I waited 20 years. It was worth it in the end though."

"Thanks Lily, you too Jenny."
