Yaoi.

Yaoi, yaoi, yaoi.

I read the NinjaxReader fanfiction. I read the Pixane and the Kailor and even the Jaya. (Again, everyone got me wrong.)

And then I read the Yaoi.

WOW.

You know what I said about how us ninja are kind of like Ninjago's One Direction? (Kai is Harry, Lloyd is Louis, Jay is Niall, Cole is Zayn, and Zane is Liam. I've thought about this a lot.) You know how people will ship ANYONE in One Direction with ANY OTHER band member? I've noticed that about us as well.

And some of these ships will NEVER work, but others have a root of truth.

That's right.

I probably shouldn't be telling this to the world. But let's talk about my friends' sexual orientations for a second. (You: Fun!) Let's keep this between you and me.

        Kai thinks he's straight. But everyone else KNOWS he's bi. I mean, come on. How oblivious can my brother be? The problem is, nobody has gotten the courage to tell him. So Kai keeps chasing after Skylor, and his love is unrequited. Meanwhile, he's in love with Lloyd but doesn't realize it. (Kai would do anything for Lloyd. One time I brought it up to him and he said that Lloyd is like his brother, but he says that about the rest of the ninja too, and he treats Lloyd with much more affection.)

       And Lloyd is gay. No question. He's liked Kai since he was a kid, when Kai saved him from that volcano. One time Lloyd was talking to me, asking how a crush was supposed to feel. I told him, "When you're with your crush your heart starts beating really hard, and you blush uncontrollably, and sometimes it feels like you're going to throw up."

Then he said, "Everyone says I'm supposed to feel that way around girls but I don't."

I shrugged. "Maybe you just haven't hit that point of puberty yet. After all, your hormones are all messed up from that tea."

Lloyd frowned. "I guess they are messed up. Cause I'm supposed to like girls, but I think I like boys."

Everything suddenly made perfect sense.

I said, "Lloyd, some people are attracted to members of the same gender. It's perfectly normal."

And Lloyd was unusually happy for the rest of the day.

      Jay is pansexual. He gets attracted to individual people, and the individual person he's been attracted to for a while is me. But if he didn't know me, I think things would be a lot different. I know some stuff about Jay that I doubt HE even knows. (I know Jay almost better than I know myself sometimes. I can read him like an open book.)

    Cole is the opposite. He gives no indication what he's thinking, or feeling, EVER. If Cole wants you to know something, he'll tell you, but he never tells the full truth. Cole is a mystery to me. He might be straight because of that one time when he kissed me. But we never spoke of it again. (I don't care. Obviously. Why would I care? I haven't thought about it at all! I haven't wondered about Cole and if he likes someone. I haven't even thought about Cole for a while. Yeah. Totally.)

I am over it.
SO over it.

Who needs to know anything about Cole anyway? Especially about his love life!

Grr.

And Zane, well, Zane is a robot. I think the only being he's ever showed an interest in is Pixal. I guess that means he's straight? I don't know how robot emotions work, but he and Pixal are very happy together. (I ship it!)

Lloyd: Gay

Jay: Pan?

Cole: ????????????
I don't care.

Zane: Robot

ME: Straight. I think? (Oh, come on. We've all appreciated attractive members of our own gender, even if we're straight. Don't pretend like you don't! I know some very good-looking girls!)

Skylor: (IDK why I put her in) She doesn't like boys.(Take a hint, KAI!)  Either she's lesbian or asexual.

And now that you know where everyone stands, let's talk about the ships that would never happen, the ships that might happen, and the ships I think already ARE happening.

Ships that will never happen:

I can't imagine Zane with anyone besides Pixal. He gave her half his heart, for goodness' sakes, and she was literally a PART of him for a while. I'm not against him being with one of the other ninja. Maybe Glaciershipping would work? Or Techno? I doubt it, though. It seems impossible. And never, EVER ship Kai with Zane. I'm warning you that it would end with death.

Lava Shipping. (Kai and Cole are bros. Bros don't "like" other bros.) They are best friends, but they have never been attracted to each other. I don't think. Like I said, with Cole, one can never tell. They just have more of a brotherly relationship, maybe the most so out of any of us ninja, and it would be weird if they dated.

Plasma shipping. It kind of scares me to think of Kai and Jay dating- they barely get along as friends. Both of them get riled up easily- Kai needs someone calm and Jay needs someone patient. I feel like this could only end with Jay in a hospital somewhere.

Ships that might work:

Greenwhisp: Jay and Lloyd have a lot in common, and they're both young and innocent. However, I doubt this is happening anytime soon. They both like other people.

Bruiseshipping-
Okay, I've had days where I thought it was real.
A few years ago, when I found out Cole was my perfect match, Cole and Jay started to fight a lot more. I told them maybe they belonged together, and I was serious. There's just something about those two...I don't know exactly what. Have I ever been jealous?
Just a little.
But both of them deny anything (and insist they're bitter enemies), so I have no idea.

Morryd. So technically, Morro isn't a ninja, and he's dead, but frankly I think there was something going on with between the pair. Lloyd talks about Morro an awful lot more than he needs to, I'll say that. I don't know if there's anything romantic (I hope not-Morro is evil and Lloyd is the freaking Green Ninja!) but I wouldn't be too surprised if there was.

What I think is real:

Greenflame.
Kai treats Lloyd differently. He's somehow more calm, happier, nicer. And Lloyd adores Kai, and I don't know why they're not dating yet and Kai insists on being in love with Skylor. 😒 I guess you could say I ship it hard, but that's kind of an understatement.

So Nya, who do you ship?
It's weird to ship my friends together, but Kai and Lloyd do go together. Zane and Pixal will probably always be a thing, but if Pixal hadn't met Zane, I think he and Jay or he and Cole would actually work out. And Jay and Cole and I have this weird love triangle thing going (though I have no idea what's Cole's deal, so it might be a love line again.) and I really can't pretend to understand Jay and Cole's relationship.

So, I guess this is where I leave you, with another previously unheard perspective. I'm sorry if I sunk your ship, I didn't mean to break anyone's heart. I guess you can keep shipping anyone you want; keep drawing your (sometimes disturbing and/or pornographic) fan art and writing your fluffy (and smutty) fanfics about whoever you like!
