Ninja are independent. Unstoppable. We don't need anyone to take care of us. Usually.

But everyone has parents. Whether they be alive or dead, biological or not, you need to be "made" somehow. And that's where parents come in. Us on the ninja team have a broad variety of guardians.... So today I'll be telling you about my opinions on the parents of the ninja.

Jay's Parents (Ed and Edna Walker)

    I actually really like Ed and Edna. Sure, they talk a lot. And they're loud. And sometimes they make assumptions about things that they shouldn't...

But they are very nice people. I get along with them well, and they seem to adore me. Ed is very quirky and forgetful, he always asks me random questions about whatever is on his mind, usually the same ones. "You're the red one's sister, right?" "You made that Samurai suit all by yourself? You have to show me how you did it!" "Has Jay gotten the guts to kiss you yet?"  Whenever Ed and Edna visit, Jay and Ed compare new inventions. They have matching blue notebooks that they write down test runs in. It's kind of cute, actually.

   Edna seems to delight in embarassing Jay. She always brings pictures from when he was a little kid,  mememtos (like his blue baby blanket), and cookies frosted with our elemental symbols (which are surprisingly awesome).  Although Jay pretends to dislike her coddling, I can tell he actually loves it. Edna can always make everyone smile. She can be slightly annoying when she gets started talking for a long time, but she really is a sweet lady.

     Unlike their son, both of the older Walkers are usually more levelheaded than you might think in stressful situations. They go with the flow, something I definitely respect. In this way, they are great parents for a ninja, because anything could happen and they would basically shake it off and continue with their lives. It's good to know that if anything horrible were to happen to, for example, sensei, we'd have other adults we can trust.

Cole's Dad (Lou Brookstone)

I have met Cole's dad only a few times. I went to the Ninjago Talent show and saw him there but we didn't officially meet until later, on Cole's birthday. This is kind of how THAT conversation went.
Cole: Dad, you've already met those people! Oh, that's Lloyd. No, I haven't told him he has the perfect bone structure for ballet! And over here there's someone I want you to meet...
Lou: Oh, hello. Has anyone ever told you you're a good singer? Your mouth is the right shape.
Me: Hi Mr. Brookstone, it's nice to meet you. I'm-
Cole: This is Nya, JAY'S GIRLFRIEND, dad!
Lou: Yes, your voice has the right tone, mezzo, I'd say...You would make a good duet partner for my Cole. He hasn't plunged back into the wonderful world of duets since his last partner tragically broke his heart-
Cole: Too much information, Dad!!
Me: As much as I appreciate your opinion, Mr. Brookstone, I don't really sing.
Lou: Nonsense! Why don't you sing now? I'll get the karaoke machine from my car!
Cole: You brought the karaoke machine?
Lou: I always bring the karaoke machine.
Me: I have to-
Lou: Even better, the accompanist!
Me: Wha-
Lou: Endless Love, e flat.
Cole: Oh no!
I had to sing, in front of everyone. A love ballad with Cole! Jay was furious! It was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life!
Afterwards...
Lou: I was right. I want you two to come to my dance studio next week. We'll work on choreography.

    Needless to say, I have a strained opinion of Cole's dad. He's nice to me and he seems to think I'm a good singer, but I cannot deal with him all the time!
I don't know what happened to Cole's mom. She might have died. But I have never met her, so she's not around.
Lou Brookstone also seems to think Cole and I are dating all the time. (face palm)
Zane's Dad (Dr. Julien)
I met Dr. Julien when we were trying to save the world from the overlord. I knew Zane must have a creator but I didn't really know about him. So when I met Dr.Julien, a lot about Zane was explained. They were both kind, caring and always putting others before themselves.
   I heard about what Julien did while I was evil (rescuing the ninja) and that gave me an everlasting respect for him. I was sad when he died, because he was a really interesting person. Although, when Zane died, I was glad he wasn't around to see it.
Garmadon and Misako
Ok, what can I say here? I used to hate Lord Garmadon cause he was evil. When he turned good I didn't hate him anymore. I think he was a really good Sensei. I never got to know him very well, but the few conversations we had were really interesting. However, he seemed to have a strong dislike of my brother...which could make things awkward sometimes. I cried when he died, of course. And I felt horrible for Lloyd.
   Misako has become kind of a mother figure to me. I feel like I can tell her anything and not worry about her letting it slip. She understands my situation with Jay and Cole and she's the one to help me if I'm having any problems that only a girl could understand. I used to dislike her for abandoning Lloyd but now I understand her motives. And she is also REALLY smart.
Skylor's Dad (Chen)
Must I say anything? He's evil, ok? What do you think I think of him?
My parents
     I don't like to talk about my parents. Anytime I do it brings back painful memories I do not want to dredge up. Maybe I'll say more about them later. But for now I don't feel up to it.

These have been my thoughts on the parents of us ninja. Sorry for not updating in awhile- it turns out Kai was yelling about a mission and I've been gone for a few days. Also Lloyd sprained his arm and Cole (accidentally) broke one of Jay's ribs. But now I'm back!
