Doflamingo dodging another stone wall turned to her, "I'll let you follow Law in death shortly. Let's bring an end to this game!"

On with Chapter 40:

3RD PERSON POV

"Mingo!" Luffy shouted but suddenly fell silent. This confused (Y/n) but she continued fighting against Doflamingo and Trebol.

At one point, her focus was broken thanks to Trebol's distraction. Doflamingo decided to use this opportunity to paralyze the witch with his strings.

note: she did not burn the strings off because they are wrapped around the body and will burn her greatly. she decided that is not the best option right now.

"Everybody will die. Sooner or later. (Y/n), Mugiwara, did you notice? The plot of the game has been changed." his strings tightened and drew drops of blood from (Y/n)'s body.

"The game?!" Luffy exclaimed, "What are you saying after all this time?!"

"Well, just listen." Doflamingo said calmly, "The birdcage that is surrounding the town started shrinking little by little." 'What?'

"It's like an umbrella closing slowly." Luffy and (Y/n) looked up to the center of the birdcage and saw that it was in fact contracting slowly. "It'll cut up everything in this country, within an hour or so." he laughed, "Wherever you run, it's no use."

He laughed even more, "I'm not willing to save anybody. What's the advantage of letting people who learned the secret of the country survive?" he rhetorically asked, "Towns, people, animals...and your allies... and you! Everything!" his laughter got louder and Trebol joined in too.

"So your friends died a little before..right, Mugiwara-ya? That's what he used to call you." Doflamingo turned towards (Y/n)'s still paralyzed figure and brought her closer.

To make it worse, he grabbed her by the chin to make her look at him, "(N/n). He calls you that, doesn't he?" and as if she wasn't already, (Y/n) was seething with rage. Doflamingo of all people called her that.

Without caring anymore, (Y/n) emitted flames that burnt the strings, including her skin. Anything to get away from that man. Shortly after, she joined Luffy's side.

"He died so miserably. Oh Law, he shouldn't have messed with us." Trebol said with fake sympathy before laughing.

"Today, Dressrosa will perish." Doffy took a step closer, "Oh, you don't have to worry. I'll build a country again."

Luffy's patience ran out and he started shouting, "Mingo! If I kick your ass, everything will be okay!" Meanwhile (Y/n) quietly went to Law's side to heal him. Doflamingo and Trebol didn't give her much thought except that she's healing him as a last resort despite him being dead.

"I was trying to suggest that you can't do that!" Doflamingo shot strings at Luffy who dodged. Luffy punched back but his attack missed as well.

This went on as they traded blows and dodged each other.

"Fallbright!" Doflamingo shot strings that went past Luffy before it shot the latter from behind. This caught Luffy off guard but he managed to catch himself.

"You never learn! Bullet strings!" he shot more string and Luffy dodged once again.

'Gomu gomu no-" "Go to hell! Together with Law!" but both of them got interrupted by-

"Shambles!"

Law swapped places with Luffy so that he would be the one in front of Doflamingo instead.

"Law!" Doffy was of course surprised.

"You're the one that'll perish, Doflamingo!"

Meanwhile, Luffy didn't really expect the swap and fell to the ground right beside (Y/n).

"Gamma Knife!" Law stabbed Doflamingo in the heart with one of his attacks. "This operation will destroy you from the inside of your body!" The latter actually spat out blood.

"Doffy!" Trebol cried, "Law! How are you still alive?! How did you make an Ope Ope attack without creating a Room?!"

"No, we are in a Room now!" they couldn't tell but Law was actually right. The size of the Room was so big, the occupants couldn't even tell they were in it!

"It'll shorten my life somewhat, but I've put up a room which is so big you can't even see it!" 'WHAT?!' "What?!" (Y/n) ans Trebol were shocked, probably for 2 different reasons.

"For this moment and for this attack!"

A few minutes ago...

When (Y/n) first saw Law's dead body, her first reaction was to confirm that his soul was not present. What she found out though, was that it was still there.

Law felt the gaze and opened one eye slowly to make eye contact with his beloved, before closing it the moment Luffy got close. That was when (Y/n) looked at the Straw Hat man with fake worry.

When she ran back to his body to heal him "as a last resort", she used more magic to heal him , hence, making her more tired than usual.

"What about your arm?" she asked after Law had told her the plan.

"Later." he said before swapping places with Luffy.

Back to the present, Doflamingo fell to his knees with Law still stabbing him. Impressive for someone who is half the Warlord's height.

"Doffy! You're a king! Don't fall on your knees anymore!" Trebol cried again from the side.

Doflamingo grabbed Law by the face, "You'd better know what you have done!" he threatened.

"It's no use! Even if you kill me, it's too late for you too.." Law responded.

"I won't let you get away with this, Law!"

Luffy suddenly ran towards Doflamingo in his Gear 2 form, "Gomu gomu no Jet Stamp!" he kicked the Warlord in the stomach.

Trebol tried to attack the rubber man but his slime got burnt by none other than (Y/n). This didn't stop Luffy from kicking.

"Doffy!" Trebol cried again and tried once more to attack, but failed again.

The "King" ended up crashing into debris.

"Doffy! Are you alright?!" but there was no response. "This can't be happening! Our king has been brought down by such small fry pirates likes them!"

Said king brought a hand onto his head and Luffy was ready to fight again.

"Wait, Mugiwara-ya!" Law called and he was on his knees now, he had probably used too much energy. That didn't stop him from dragging himself across the ground though. "That bastard..." he said whilst limping.

"Hey, can you even move?!" Luffy asked, concerned.

"That bastard is my responsibility!" was what Law replied with as he continued dragging.

(Y/n) wanted to assist him and heal him, but Trebol caught on to her intentions and blocked her with this large stature.

"Room." Law seems to have reached the Warlord. He began having a one-sided conversation with Doflamingo who was still suffering from the pain.

Trebol couldn't take it anymore, "Law! You fool! What did you do to Doffy?!" he cried before charging towards them. Luffy was preparing to push the executive back but (Y/n) surprisingly got to him first.

"Don't get in his way!" she used a stone wall to block his path and threatened him with fire at the end of her staff.

<ANIME: Fairy Tail>

A few seconds later, Doflamingo started laughing. He's still fine enough to laugh..?

Something must have tipped Law over because he did another attack on Doflamingo's torso. "Counter shock!" electricity ran through the latter's body before he fell limp. And soon enough, Law too fell over backwards from fatigue.

"Law!" "Tra-o!" they ran to his side and (Y/n) immediately healed him.

Law's eyes opened to see the both of them, "(Y/n).. Mugiwara-ya..." he pants, "You don't have to worry about me. More importantly, how's Doflamingo..?"

But speak of the devil and he shall come.

He got up from the ground and towered the trio. "That's our King!" Trebol started laughing.

Despite being weak at the moment, Law still managed to vocalize his fear, "H-How is it possible?"

"If I have enough time, I can apply first aid to myself. Inside my body now, strings are repairing my internal organs." whatever that meant, it seemed to be working seeing how he was still moving well. "How smartly you can use your ability is important. It's a bit different from recovery, though." he walked towards them and (Y/n) stood up, preparing to fight, "Thank you for your suicide atack."

Suddenly in a blink of an eye, Trebol's snot extended to Straw Hat and the Witch and wrapped around them.

"Sticky-sticky chain!" like a whip, the snot went up with them still in its grasp.

"Stick-stickem!" and it went down and smacked them onto the ground.

Ouch.

Coming back to their senses, (Y/n) saw Doflamingo already at Law's body. She quickly casted a quick healing spell onto Luffy before launching him forwards, "Go, Luffy!" she trailed off at the end and had to take a breather. The heal used more of her magic at once and made her tired quickly.

"Dammit!" she heard Law shout whilst she rested.
