"That's-! Isn't that (Y/n)'s paper doll?" Robin was the first to notice since she was sitting beside him. The paper doll looked at her and sent a small wave. "Where is she? Is she here too?"

Law stayed silent as he stared at nothing. As if sensing his distress, the paper doll pasted itself onto Law's cheek, giving him a hug. He sighed.

"She got captured by Doflamingo."

On with Chapter 17:

3RD PERSON POV

AT DRESSROSA

"Walk faster!" a soldier pushed the (h/c-ette) forward when she was walking too slow for his liking. For some reason, (Y/n) was told to get up from the floor and was brought out of her cell. Currently, she was on the top floors of the castle, making her way to Doflamingo's office, hands still cuffed in sea prism stone.

The moment they got the signal to enter the office, (Y/n) got shoved inside and the door closed behind her. She glanced behind her to see that she entered the room alone and looked back to the front to see Doflamingo, sitting by the window and talking on a den den mushi.

"Come here. I have something for you." with no room to argue, (Y/n) dragged her feet towards him and stopped in front of the warlord.

"This is the end for you, Vergo-san." she lit up at the familiar voice coming from the snail.

"Law-!" she exclaimed before a hand covered her mouth, "Shhh, he's not supposed to know we are listening." Doflamingo brought her face forward and whispered to her, his grin reaching the sides of his face.

"You brat, you finally remember how to speak to your superiors." Vergo's voice sent a chill down her spine.

"If that's what you want to believe. Don't think that you guys can stay on your high horses forever. I know you can hear me, Joker!"

Getting caught, Doflamingo removed his hand from (Y/n)'s face and picked up the receiver. He laughed.

"Vergo is done for, Joker. You've lost your most important subordinate, and Caesar will be taken down by Mugiwara-ya. Which means, you will lose all your SAD. It was your own overconfidence that blinded you to this possibility. Go ahead and look down on us and laugh as usual while you think of your next move. But you won't be laughing for very long... because we're going to keep on surprising you."

Doflamingo laughed, "You're acting really tough for a little shrimp. But are you sure you can back it up? I would suspect that you've upset Vergo." on cue, sounds of something hitting the ground hard was heard, "Do you remember what happened last time? Remember? Remember what happens when you push Vergo too far?" he laughed again, "It must have traumatized you. There's no way you could ever forget... the terror that Vergo put into you. Your cutting ability may be powerful... but his Haki will easily block it. You are no match for him, in either strength or position!"

"Let's go."

Sounds of fighting could be heard from the den den mushi and the two kept quiet, waiting to hear who the victor would be. After a few seconds, it suddenly became silent and it honestly was killing (Y/n).

"It's been two years since the great war." Law's voice was heard and she brightened up. It meant that he was still alive and won!

"Who set what in motion back then? All you did is protect the position you've grown comfortable in. All Whitebeard did was end an era. Navy HQ has put together a new military force... but the major players haven't made a move. It's as if they're preparing for something. Yes, that war was nothing but a prologue. You always said that an unstoppable wave is coming. One that brings a new age for the strong.

I've destroyed the gears and now, there's no turning back!"

Looking back at the shichibukai, he was frowning deeply.

" "Broke the gear"? "There's no turning back"? That's hysterical... Realize your place, Law!" Vergo's voice was still heard followed by some slashings.

"Damn. How will I eat breakfast tomorrow?" his voice as softer, "What a horrible turn of events. How dare you, Law. This is upsetting." there was no response from Law. "But I know you're going to regret it. Keep that in mind. You don't know Joker's past, and that will cost you your life. Upstarts like you who have acquired just a touch of fame can't hope to take over the world. It's filled with those who are much stronger. Tell him, Smoker." there was no response from the latter as well.

"All you squirts got is energy. But this world is much-" "Don't worry about me. Just worry about yourself." Vergo got cut off by the Death Surgeon himself, "I'll be taking this back to its rightful owner. Goodbye, Vergo the pirate."

"Ka-chak" the den den mushi was hung up and the snail went to sleep. Doflamingo and (Y/n) stared at the snail, silently processing what had just happened.

"Haha... Hahaha!" (Y/n) broke the silence by laughing. Doflamingo stared at her confusedly but got annoyed by the second. "Looks like you lost your right-hand man huh, Doffy?"

"Joker! This is Buffalo from Punk Hazard!" the den den mushi conveyed to Doflamingo, who was still on the same spot. "What's the matter?" he asked.

"Joker! We just arrived at Punk Hazard-dasuyan! We don't know what's going on but we just saw Master Caesar getting blown out of the building, injured-dasuyan!" "What?!" Doflamingo suddenly grinned, "Recover Caesar immediately and come back to Dressrosa!"

"Okay! We'll recover Caesar-dasuyan!... What about Monet and Vergo?"

"There must be a reason. Let's do as he says."

"Roger! Joker!" and he hung up. Doflamingo suddenly laughed.

"What are you laughing about?" he paused from his laughter to glance down at the now injured witch lying on the floor. After her last comment, he took out his rage onto her and left her lying on the floor of his office.

In response, with his grin still present on his face, he placed the sole of his foot on her head and applied pressure, squishing her face against the floor.

"I hope your captain knows what he's doing, because he's entering some dangerous territory right here." he dug his foot into her cheek, "When I destroy him, you have no other choice but to join my family, Witch." he spat.

The den den mushi rang and Doflamingo answered it.

"Joker... can you hear me?" the person on th line panted, "This... is Monet."

"Monet, I'm glad you're alive. Vergo was defeated, as was Caesar. But Baby5 and Buffalo should be able to recover Caeser." "I see. That's good."

"This is all a mistake on my part. I apologize for putting you in this position. But I'd like to make the most of this situation. I want you to kill all those youngsters now." he paused to glance at (Y/n), "Laboratory three holds a weapon that's identical to the one that destroyed the island four years ago. If you just press the self-destruct button... then only one person will be left alive. The only person who can survive the lethal gas... will be Caesar."

"The button is located-" "Say no more, Joker. That was my plan all along. I'm right in front of the self-destruct button. The explosion will even reach the tanker they're planning to escape with. One of our ships will go to waste. Is that alright?"

"Forgive me. Please, die for me, and take them all with you."

When Monet placed the receiver down, it was assumed that she was preparing to press the button and kill everyone on the island with it. It was silent for the most part and Doflamingo smiled through the pain. When the silence lingered for a little too long, he got worried.

"Why isn't the connection to her den den mushi getting cut?" he thought out loud and called out to her, "Monet?" there was no response.

"What's wrong, Monet?" he asked again but there was still no response.

"Hmph, guess you lost another one of your family members." (Y/n) seemed to have a death wish since she provoked the warlord once again.

...

"Young master! Young master!" Sugar's voice echoed through the castle as she tried to find Doflamingo. She couldn't find him anywhere on the bottom floors and the last place she went to was his office.

Upon opening the door, she was met with the sight of the opened window and a barely conscious and injured figure on the ground. "Young master?" she called.

She walked up to the figure and asked, "Hey, where's young master?"

(Y/n) turned her head weakly to look at the little girl, "He... left..."

"Where did he go?" before she could answer her, (Y/n) passed out.

...

Meanwhile, in the middle of the ocean, Doflamingo had found Baby5's and Buffalo's head floating on a raft with a ticking time bomb on it.

"Young Master!" Buffalo called when the man landed on the raft.

"Dammit! That bastard Law really betrayed us!" Baby5 cried and tears were pooling in her eyes.

"I'm sorry-dasuyan! I want to pay for it with death!" "You needed me but I couldn't please you!"

While the two were crying, their boss was inspecting the raft they were floating on. "This is a life raft that was on our tanker." he said when he noticed his Jolly Roger on the raft.

"I'm so ashamed-dasuyan! After I hung up..." "It's okay. You don't have to explain." Doflamingo cut off the younger male, "You two were just following my orders." he destroyed the bomb, leaving it in pieces.

"What a surprise. I didn't expect the boss himself to show up!" Looking down,, Doflamingo found a familiar looking den den mushi sitting on a smaller crate. "Is that Law? I haven't seen you for a while. It's a shame that you're not here."

"If you're looking for Caesar, he's with me." "J-Joker! Help me!" cried Caesar.

"Where are Baby5 and Buffalo's bodies?" he asked.

"I don't know. Don't ask me about such frivolous things. Let's negotiate."

Doflamingo laughed, "Hey Law, come to your senses. A squirt like you shouldn't imitate what grown-ups do. Where are you now? Don't make me mad."

"Make you mad? Your most important business partner is one of the Four Emperors. The big-time pirate - Kaido, the king of beasts. And I know you can't make him mad at any cost. What would happen if he finds out you can't produce SMILE anymore? Since he's not the negotiating type, there'll probably be a fierce battle."

"Young master, you're turning blue." Buffalo pointed out when Doflamingo started sweating.

"And he'll destroy you." "Hey, you carried the joke too far, Law. What do you want in exchange for Caesar? Name your price." it was surprising to see the man this nervous as sweat continued sliding down his face.

"I have two conditions. The first one is simple - I want (Y/n) back." the warlord clicked his tongue, "The second, resign from the Seven Warlords."

"I can't believe this squirt-dasuyan!" "Then he can no longer stay in Dressrosa!"

Law ignored his two former acquaintances and continued talking, "All I want is for you to abandon everything that you spent a decade to attain and go back to being a common pirate again. In that case, however, the admirals from the Navy HQ will hunt you down. I'm expecting to see it in the newspaper tomorrow morning. If your resignation from the Warlords is in the paper, I will call you. If I don't see it, the negotiation is off and (Y/n) knows what to do. Goodbye."
