Twelve Hours Later

Ayato's P.O.V

I went into Chiyo's room to wake her up only to see her not there. Which had not been unusual but when it had been this early, something was wrong. I went back in the hall and continued to look around for her.

Flashback

Ten Years Ago

Her eyes were like giant saucers. Saucers full of pain and betrayal that watered. Her cheeks had a faint red blush underneath them which she tried to hide but failed. I said something that hurt her. I always did but she had been crying because of it.

"Lucy...I....I'm-"

She turned her head, looking away from me. "You always say that......but when do you actually mean it?" She looked at me in my eyes with such hatred and anger. "How many times will you apologize? How many times will you tell me that you do not love me and then say that you do?"

My heart began to ache, causing me to hold onto it. It hurt to think of her. It hurt to think of that day. Lucy...Chiyo...I realized that if I were to find Chiyo, I had to look for the places I once found her Lucy.

The thing was, that could have been anywhere. I went back upstairs and went into the room I caught her in and looked inside the box of old pictures I had of Lucy. The one family picture I had of the three of us was gone. Meaning that my worst fear had been coming to life. I stared at the box, trembling as I realized that Chiyo had most likely left home. "Chiyo....I'm so sorry."

Chiyo's P.O.V

It was wrong...I knew it but at times I could have sworn I heard her voice, smelt her, she was near. I just couldn't figure it where she had been. The hunch I felt was a strong one and I had no choice but to follow it. "Don't worry mama, I will find you soon, I promise."
