The Next Morning

Chiyo's P.O.V

I knocked on uncle Subaru's door and waited for a response. Instead, the door opened and he glared at me.

"You annoy me you know." He said before he walked away from the door and sat on his coffin.

"But you still love me." I smiled before I walked in and closed his door. I sat in the chair across from him.

"Shouldn't you be asleep?"

"I should be but I heard a story and needed some answers." He arched a brow.

"You woke me up for that?" I nodded causing him to suck his teeth. "You are definitely like your mother." He muttered before he looked at me. "I will only answer your questions if you promise to go to sleep right after." I nodded and stuck out my pinky.

"Only if you promise to answer my questions." He nodded and wrapped his pinky around mine.

"So what do you want to know?"

"My mom, where did she go?" His eyes widened before he looked away from me.

"That is the question I can't answer. "

"But you promised-"

"Chiyo, your mother is someone who I do not speak of for a reason." My eyes widened as I realized something.

"Nobuo" I whispered.

"What?"

"You are Nobuo's brother. You were the one who fell for her." His eyes widened. "You fell for my...mom and my mom loved you back but you decided to give her to my father."

"Who told you that?"

"Your mom did"  His eyebrows furrowed.

"She is not alive you know?" I nodded.

"Her spirit told me, now can you tell me where mama went?" He stared at me for a while before he sighed.

"I guess you are telling the truth. I don't know where Lucy went. The only person who knows is your grandfather and he hasn't been around here in years." I nodded.

"Oh okay, thanks anyway. I guess I am going to keep my promise and go back to sleep." I said before I left.

Subaru's P.O.V

Its been a while since I had last thought about her. The thing was that she was not so easy to forget and the fact that my mother had told Chiyo things would only make her want to know more. Something she was not ready for.
