Hello, Hero-San
Heads up! I will be bringing up moments from the past every chapter to help you better understand the characters and their relationships. These past moments won't always be pretty- I mean, there have to be some reasons for two of the characters to be evil. The basic backstories were already brushed in the previous chapter. But these go into more detail. Also, the reason Shinso doesn't recognize Izuku's voice is thst Izuku stutters a lot and talks in a shy voice while Siren speaks with no hesitation and has an energetic tone. Amazing what a slight change in one's demeanor can do for hiding their identities.
~~~~~~~~~~~~Past~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ten-year-old Shinso was at the park, reading a book. He was up in a tree to avoid being bothered by anyone from his school. An explosion caught his attention, and he looked down to see a blond boy picking on a green-headed boy with round glasses and a beanie. He was clutching a notebook for dear life and his eyes were filled with tears.
"Leave me alone Kacchan!" He begged.
"Quirkless Deku! What did I say about wanting to become a hero?" The blond growled.
"N-not to?" the green-headed boy whimpered.
"SO WHY ARE YOU STILL CARRYING THAT DAMN NOTEBOOK!"
Shinso sighed as he jumped down from the tree and said, "Can you please go away? I'm trying to read. Do you want me to report you to the authorities for illegal quirk use?"
"Who the hell are you?!" the blond yelled back.
"I'm the guy who's going to call the police on you. So leave. NOW." Shinso said with an edge to his tone.
The blond grumbled and left. Something about not wanting to deal with an extra. Shinso turned to the greenette and asked him if he was okay.
"W-why did you s-save me?"
"Because he was a bully." Shinso deadpanned back.
"B-but I'm Quirkless. A-a freak. U-u-useless." The boy sighed as he looked down towards the ground.
Shinso smiled sadly, "No ones useless. And I'm honestly jealous of you being quirkless. Anything beats having my quirk."
Stars filled his eyes as one thought filled his head, 'OMG! I have found my hero!'
"No way! All quirks are amazing! What's yours?" he piped up.
"It's brainwashing..." Shinso replied as he looked away in fear of rejection.
"That's so... cool! You c-could do so many things with t-that quirk! Like, stop a hostage s-situation or takedown drug dealers! Or s-stop suicides! Oh, you could be the p-perfect Underground Hero! You know, l-like Eraserhead! Your quirk is so amazing... um..."
"Shinso."
"Right, I love your quirk Shinso! I'm Izuku M-midoriya! But please c-call me Izuku. I d-don't really like my family n-name much."
"Okay, Izuku. You really think I can be a hero?" Shinso laughed.
"Of course, S-shinso." Izuku beamed.
And just like that, the two ten-year-olds became best friends. When they were barely 14 Izuku suggested Shinso should clean the beach and work out so he would do well in the entrance exam for UA. It was a shame Izuku gave up on his dream to be a hero. Apparently, All Might-the bastard-told him he couldn't be a hero without a quirk! Shinso knew Izuku's analysis skills would make him the perfect Underground Hero. But Izuku insisted that he was fine with how things were and that it didn't matter because he already graduated from his online high school courses anyways. Shinso didn't know much about Izuku's home life; the boy was adopted at the young age of 4 by his "brother". They were not related by blood, but by how close they were, you'd think otherwise.
Shinso didn't realize just what he started by telling Izuku he wasn't useless. Siren was just a simple sidekick back then. He helped Present Mic annoy his favorite hero while waiting for his own hero to come along. And now, all that there was left to do was wait for his Hero to make his first appearance. But first, Shinso had to get into UA. And if anyone tried to defer Shinso from that... well then, let's just say Siren had a nice chat with them. After all, he was Shinso's number one fan, and no one was going to hurt his Hero. The League of Villains learned the hard way when they hurt Eraserhead and Shinso at the USJ. Everyone in the underground criminal world knew the rules; no one was allowed to hurt Eraserhead. If he was trying to stop you, then knock him out or try to lose him. But no excessive force. There was a reason no one tried to kill Eraserhead. Killing him would result in Present Mic on your ass, and no one wanted that. But clearly, The LOV didn't get the memo. Which is why they were all found beaten up pretty badly and tied up outside a police station with homemade quirk suppressants on. It's safe to say All For One lost all his henchman that day. But that's a story for another time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~PRESENT DAY~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tonight was Shinso's first patrol with Aizawa Sensei as the hero in training Control. He would be one step closer to his dream of being a hero! He still couldn't believe he got 3rd place in the sports festival, let alone into the hero course at all. He was about to just give up and planned to just join Gen Ed when he was old enough. But Izuku helped him believe in his dreams again. And here he was now. Eraserhead had told him to stay put on the rooftop while he went to check out a possible Present Mic situation. Shinso had taken off his voice modifier mask to get some fresh air, leaving it to hang around his neck under the capture scarf. Not like there was much to do anyway. It was a rather plain and boring night, really. No criminals were around, and the possible Present Mic situation would most likely turn out to be a false call. Still, something felt wrong. Shinso just knew something had to be going on. He could feel it in his gut. But what- and suddenly an arm wrapped around Shinso and a clothe was shoved against his face. Despite his struggles, darkness soon consumed him. The last thing he heard was a young voice.
"Found you, hero." the voice cooed near Shinso's right ear.
The voice belonged to a figure with green leather, star-shaped sunglasses, and headphones on top of his spiked up green hair. The 15-year-old was Siren, the sidekick of the voice villain, Present Mic. Siren was thrilled he had finally reached the day where he could mess with Shinso. He had spent two whole weeks planning and prepping for his introduction to his hero, and he finally had him. Now all he had to do was get the Purple-headed boy back to the base. It was a good thing he and Present Mic built a teleportation device that could teleport him to his villain room at the base. It was as small as a quarter and had a button right in the center of it. Maneuvering the limp body of Control, Siren pulled out the device from one of the pockets in his jacket, then he pushed the button. Suddenly, they were no longer on the rooftop, but in a dim room with the only light coming from computer monitors they were next to. On the other end of the room was a closed door that led out into a hallway, and the walls on either side of the room were covered in pictures and news-clippings of Shinso and a few shelves that were mostly bare with the exception of a doll that looked like Shinso.
Siren brought Control over to a metal chair that was in the middle of the room and put him on it. He then proceeded to gather his homemade quirk suppressant cuffs and a roll of duck-tape that were sitting on his computer desk so he could restrain the hero in training. He cuffed Control's arms behind the chair and used a whole roll of duck-tap to secure his legs to the chair's legs. Satisfied with the notion his hero wouldn't be able to escape when he woke up, Siren took a minute to admire his handiwork. This wasn't his first time tying up someone; he usually helped with tying up Eraserhead whenever Present Mic kidnapped him. Since Eraserhead could never get out of his bounds himself, Siren knew Control wouldn't be able to either. A few minutes later, Siren's headphones made a noise, alerting him that Present Mic was no longer on radio silence.
"Yo, Siren? You got your hero yet?" Present Mic asked.
"Yep! And his outfit makes him look like a mini Eraserhead! He looks so cool! Do you think I should take his goggles as a souvenir for our first meeting? Oh! I've got the perfect spot on my shelves for them! Has Eraserhead found you yet? Can't have him ruining my first encounter with Control, you know!" Izuku gushed.
"You know, I took Eraserhead's goggles the first time I kidnapped him. You should go ahead and do that as well with your hero! And no, Eraserhead hasn't found me yet. He still might be looking around in the old warehouse for me. I still can't believe he fell for that fake call you made of a sighting of me! I would love to see the look on his face when all he finds is a note! I already have a huge surprise for him at the radio station! Fake hostages and everything! He won't get in the way of your fun, Siren." Present Mic chirped.
"Okay! Let me quickly send him in the direction of your message you left for him and he'll be on his way to you!" Siren chuckled.
Siren grabbed his Villain phone from his desk to take a quick selfie with his hero. Then he smiled as he snatched the purple goggles off of Control's face and sat down at his computer. Might as well make things even harder for Eraserhead while he was waiting for his hero to wake up. He quickly pocketed the goggles before reaching for his keyboard. With a devious grin and a few commands typed in, he now had control over Eraserhead's commlink as well as assess to the cameras in the warehouse he was in.
"Hello, Eraserhead!" He cheekily drawled.
In the camera feed, Siren could see Eraserhead stop in his tracks.
"Siren. How did you get into my commlink?" Eraserhead growled.
"Oh Eraserhead, you didn't really think you're tech was safe from my tech skills, did you? And you seem to be heading in the wrong direction. You'll find Present Mic's message taped to the fuse box to your right." Siren quipped.
"You've hacked into the cameras, haven't you?" Eraserhead inquired as he glared up at a camera.
"Tick tock Eraserhead. You might want to find that message before Present Mic gets bored waiting for you." Siren prodded.
With an annoyed sigh, Eraserhead headed off to find the note. After about ten minutes of walking through a maze of shelves and boxes, he finally found it. The typed note read:
Eraserhead,
The Celestial Radio station seemed to be a little out of tune with our current modern jazz, ya dig? So I made it my responsibility to direct them on how to properly DJ a station! I mean, who plays Pop and Reggae on the same station? You've got to stick to one genre or you're bound to mess up people's tempo. Perhaps I should just adjust their tempo, you hear? I find it lovely when my listeners scream for me. Don't take too long to show up to the party Eraser! I wouldn't want you to miss out on all the fun. Be there by 10:30 or else. Remember to come alone. Wouldn't want anyone to get caught in the crossfire, now would we?
~Present Mic 🎤
Eraserhead pocketed the note with a frustrated sigh.
"I don't know how long Present Mic gave you to get there, but you better know it's already 10:05. The station is a block down the road. You can see it from outside the warehouse. Get moving Hero." Siren noted.
"Fine." Eraserhead snapped.
With a smile, he disconnected from the commlink and cameras. His knock out serum he made usually only lasts about 30 minutes, and it's been about 29 minutes since he knocked out Control. The hero in training should be waking up any moment now.
Control groaned as he slowly came to consciousness. He tried to move his arms, only to conclude he was restrained. Just great. As his vision slowly cleared, leaving him with a pounding headache, he glanced around the room he was in. The wall to his left was covered in news clippings and pictures of him. There were a few shelves as well, with a miniature doll of him on one of them. The right wall was also covered in photos of him and news clippings. 'Creepy' Shinso thought with a grimace. Then he looked forward to see computers illuminating the otherwise dark room. His attention slowly focusing on the computer chair in front of the computers.
"Hello, Control." The chair spins so the speaker in facing him. "I'm your biggest fan!"
Control immediately recognized the boy in front of him- why wouldn't he when Siren makes the news just as much as his leader or partner Present Mic does. Control considered trying to use his quirk.
"Siren?! What do you want?" Shinso demanded.
"I just wanted to say hello to my favorite hero in training." Siren grinned as he got up. His grin only grew wider when he saw Shinso's face of confusion.
Siren walked over and slowly started to circle him, exulting "Sorry Senpai, but I couldn't have you using that amazing quirk of yours!" Siren stopped when he got behind the chair, putting his hands on Control's shoulders. "Those cuffs on your wrists are my homemade quirk suppressants!"
"How do you even know me?!" Shinso growled.
Siren took his hands off Control's shoulders and stepped in front of Control with a wild grin on his face.
"I've been watching you for quite some time Control-Kun." Siren giggled. "You're so cool! I love your goggles by the way!" Siren waved the goggles in Control's face before pocketing them.
"Why me?" Shinso puzzled.
Siren stepped back a few feet and turned to face his computer screens with his hands behind his back, before saying "Well, you see, when I first saw you, you were standing up for this kid. All the other kids would tease him for his lack of a quirk. I would occasionally pay those bullies a visit to stop them, but they never really stopped. Yet there you were, standing up for someone no one else cared for. It was rather amazing. Your quick action to defend the minority was so cool!" Siren let out a content sigh. "Then with how you defended your classmates at the USJ? Amazing! You don't need to worry about the League messing with you anymore though. Great job getting 3rd place in the sports festival! And love the hero name! Much better than what most of your classmates chose."
"So you're a stalker?" Control deadpans.
Siren spun around and stalked up to Control, leaning into his face with a feral grin. "Consider me your version of Present Mic dear! And you ain't getting rid of me!" Siren backed off and radioed Present Mic.
"Present Mic, has Eraserhead shown up yet?"
"He's just arriving right now." Present Mic responded.
"Right. Well, if you want to, you can play the hostage card. I kind of want to see how he'd react to his poor innocent student being in danger." Siren mused as he sent a mischievous smile towards Control. "Just let me know so I can move to your location."
"Great idea, Siren! Will do once he gets past my surprise." Present Mic laughed.
"Well then, let's chat Hero-San." Siren smirked as he got up into Control's face again.
Control just glared as he tried to head-butt him. Siren just leaned back with a laugh, before he pulled on Control's hair rather hard. While he held Control's head up by his hair, he studied his face as if looking for any more tricks or ideas he might have. The whole time Control remained frozen, fear-stricken by that sinister aura Siren put off.
With a smile, he let go and backed off. "Like I said, let's chat."
"About what?" Control hissed.
"There we go! Cooperation! Finally. You learn faster than Eraserhead does. It took him five whole kidnappings to cooperate! Anyway, you really should be careful on future patrols. Taking your mask off like that was your downfall. But that's not important right now. You really should lock your window, Shinso. Don't think that you're safe behind that security at the orphanage. Also, don't think for a moment you can outsmart me. I know you. I've been studying you for years. You better get your license too. Can't be a hero without one. And you really should try to stop sleeping in class. It's not good for your grades. But what concerns me is that you're sticking your nose into things that involve All For One. I understand your friend's problem, but you really should stop where you are. I've already had to take out twelve men who were after you because of your snooping. What exactly did you discover?"
"H-how do you know so much about me? And why should I tell you anything?" Control managed to get out while still freaked out over Siren knowing his name and where he lives.
Siren smiled the most fake smile Control had ever seen. "Like I said, I know you, hero. And whether you tell me what you know or not, I will find out. I have my ways."
Control looked down as if to avoid him. Siren only chuckled as he circled the hero in training once more. "Oh, how I'm going to enjoy our future conversations."
"Who said there's going to be a next time?" Control snarked.
Siren just cackled. Like full-blown cackled at Control's response. He then leaned close into his face and grabbed his chin to make him look at him.
"Funny. You actually think you have a choice. Eraserhead said the same thing you know, and yet he still gets kidnapped every week. If it makes you feel any better, I'll try to avoid days near testing. Can't have you failing school because of me now." Siren quipped before letting go of Control and bopping him on the nose.
Present Mic sounded off that he was ready for Siren to bring Control over.
Siren knelt down and pulled out a zip tie and a pocket knife from a pocket in his jacket. "Anyways, I think it's about time we go say hi to your mentor. Don't even think of trying anything. You dig?"
Control gulped, once again feeling that aura, and nodded. As much as his instincts were screaming that now was the chance to escape, he knew a few things. One, pissing off Siren was probably the equivalent of signing your death warrant. And two, even if he escaped, he had no idea how to get out of there before Siren caught up to him. What if there were traps outside the room? Not to mention he had no idea if the cuffs could shock him. And kicking Siren was definitely a no go since that might piss him off. Control would have to stay still for now.
Siren smiled and swiftly cut the duck-tap before pulling off Control's boots to zip-tie his ankles together.
Patting Control's right leg with a smile, Siren beamed, "there we go! All ready for the show!"
Siren picked up the boots and took off the capture scarf and mask that hung around Control's neck; he then put them in a small, cheap backpack which he put on afterwards. Siren walked back over to Control and picked him up.
"Do you seriously have to hold me bridal style?" Control groaned.
"I could always drag you like a sack of potatoes." Siren remarked.
"No thanks." Control grimaced. He had heard tales from Sensei on how much it sucked to be dragged like a sack of potatoes by Present Mic. He did not need to experience it himself.
Siren managed to open the door and stalked down the hall. The hall led to a huge room full of technology and machines as well as computers. Control noted that this must be the main lair. Siren made his way over to a small circular platform (there were two of them and each was wide enough for two people to stand back to back on them) and stepped on it.
"Teleport to Present Mic." Siren stated.
"Teleportation request granted." a robotic voice responded.
Instantly, after being covered in a beam of white light, they appeared next to Present Mic (on Present Mic's right). Siren put Control down into a standing position but kept a firm hold on his cuffed wrists.
"Let him go, Present Mic!" Eraserhead growled.
"You can have him back, Eraserhead. I just wanted to get to know my favorite hero when I heard he was finally starting his internships. Just remember, you can't catch us and get him back at the same time." Siren cheekily informed Eraserhead.
Siren swiftly unlocked the cuffs with a fingerprint scan before shoving Control, who's legs were still zip-tied, towards Eraserhead who immediately moved forward to catch him. Siren then tossed the backpack filled with Control's gear towards Eraserhead before grabbing Present Mic and pulling out the teleportation button he used earlier.
"See you later, Shinso." Siren cooed before he teleported Present Mic and himself away.
"So... I now have my very own version of Present Mic." Control causally stated as Eraserhead helped him sit down so he could undo the zip-tie around his ankles. "My boots, mask, and scarf are in the backpack. I don't know why he didn't just keep them like he did with my goggles. What a creep. He had this whole room just covered in pictures and news articles of me. He even had a doll. He knows where I live. He knows my name. It's like he knew my every move. He even knows what I do at UA. I had a slight chance to escape, but he had this aura that scared me from even attempting to do so. On the bright side, I don't think he means to harm me. He seemed to be possessive of me if him stopping others from going after me means anything. Is this what you have to go through every day with Present Mic?"
Finally getting the zip-tie off, Eraserhead sighed, "you get used to it. Sure, it's annoying and a major inconvenience, but you just get to the point where you just expect a kidnapping to happen. The agency has a code for when I'm kidnapped. It's called Code Mic and it's basically released when I'm on radio silence for more than an hour or don't check in within a time limit. You wouldn't believe how many times I've been nabbed straight from my home. Hell, half of the time I'm already sleeping! The worst part is that they're too smart to actually be caught and arrested. So no matter how hard we try, they will always be there to mess with us. And the creepy collection will only grow. Just be glad you don't have a killer obsessed over you."
~~~~next day at cat cafe~~~~
Shinso finds himself in the comforts of being surrounded by cats. Aizawa-Sensei decided they should go visit the cafe to relax after his first kidnapping. Though, it seemed Aizawa came here to complain to some blond that worked here about how bad his patrol was last night. The blond actually looked familiar... oh yeah! He's Izuku's big brother! Shinso has only seen him like three times when they were younger, so he didn't really remember what the guy looked like. Anyways, Shinso is laying on the ground while cats surround him. He was so caught up in the comfort of the cats, he didn't see the green-headed boy that was walking over to him. Well, he didn't see him till he cast a shadow over him.
"H-hey, Toshi."
"Oh, hey Izuku! When did you get here?" Shinso asked.
"J-just now. Are y-you okay? You l-look tired. More t-tired then usual." Izuku hesitantly replied.
Shinso sat up with a sigh. "I'm fine. I just got kidnapped by Siren of all people last night."
"W-wow, Siren? What did h-he want with you?" Izuku asked with concern.
"Apparently, he's my version of Present Mic. Guess I better cancel all those events I was looking forward to." Shinso mused.
"W-what events? Last I ch-checked, you didn't have a social life." Izuku teased.
"Rude! I have events at UA I could attend. But you're right, why attend them if I won't enjoy them. I still can't believe no one is willing to give me a chance. And it's all because of my quirk. Do you know how awkward school group projects are? To know that the person assigned to you acts like they got the short end of the deal? It hurts." Shinso complained.
"Jokes on th-them, they don't e-even have an a-arch nemesis yet!" Izuku declared as if he was trying to cheer up Shinso.
"Yeah. I've got an arch-nemesis before they have! Thanks for trying to cheer me up, Izuku. I don't know what I'd do without you." Shinso smiled.
' Oh, you have no idea, Hero-San.' Izuku thought with a smile.
The next chapter will be character designs because I couldn't put off posting this chapter any longer. so expect them by Sunday? I think. I'm sick so bare with me. I still have to draw at least two designs. I am debating if I should draw Shinso in his normal clothes, as well as Eraserhead. I mean, if he doesn't change his looks in my AU, should I even draw him? So I have like 2-5 designs to get done depending on what I want to do. I mainly want to finish Izuku's civilian look, and Shinso's hero look.
