Guess you must have had me hypnotized
Awsten's POV
"Get a room you guys!" Geoff shouted. Otto flipped him off and resumed shoving his tongue down Grace's throat. Lovely. "Ok while we're waiting I have to admit something." Geoff hummed in response.
"Ok so like the day before you started, I think I saw you. I was sitting in class and it was raining and I remember looking up and just seeing a pair of blue eyes. Then I think I saw you again twice, once in another class and once when walking home with Patty."
I avoided eye contact in case he was freaked out. Oh God I had ruined everything. When he said he was falling for someone last week, I thought he meant me. I was falling for him too.
"Uh yeah, um." Geoff laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "Well um, you did see me. I wasn't stalking you or anything," he said quickly, "I was just looking around town, going for a wander. I decided to have a look at the school and ended up seeing you a couple of times. I saw loads of people through the windows but when I saw you it was like...like I was-"
"Frozen." I finished. He nodded. "Yeah, like I couldn't move. There was something about you. Guess you must have had me hypnotized." We both laughed at his reference. "I felt the same way, still do sometimes." I said, blushing.
Geoff grinned and squeezed my hand. "Speaking of, do you think Set It Off are gonna be big?" I asked.
"Yeah, I think they will be. So will Ben and Patty's band. What do they call themselves again?" I frowned. "Uh...I can't rem- ooh no wait! I do remember! As It Is. That's it, As It Is." I was proud of myself for remembering. Well done me.
"Where the Hell did that name come from?" I shrugged and realised that Geoff was still holding my hand. Butterflies erupted in my stomach but the softeness of his hand felt nice in mine so I stayed silent.
Finally Otto and Grace pulled away and waved goodbye. "Come on then. Onwards my trusty steed." Otto pounced on my back and his arm shot into the air in a sort of Superman way, causing my hand to fall from Geoff's. I groaned and stumbled slightly under the sudden weight on my back.
"Jesus Otto you need to eat less and exercise more." I said with a grin earning a smack at the back of my head. "Rude. Hit me again and I'll drop you." I warned. "No! Please spare me. Accept my apology for I have disrespected you my lord." Otto whimpered, clinging onto my neck his hair in my face. "Dude you need a hair cut." Geoff said.
I nodded in agreement. "I will do one day, just leave me alone." The brunette above me replied. With that we walked to Otto's house, the only place where we could all bear to be. Geoff had filled Otto in a little about his situation at home and he, obviously, already knew mine.
"Hey can Patty and Ben come over? Ben just text me, he wants to get Patty outside for a walk. I swear he's like a dog." Otto said from on top of me. I shook my head grinning. "Nah, I just want it to be us three. Maybe another day. Just tell Ben to put a leash on him and give him a run around the park."
"Kinky." I heard Geoff say from next to us. I shot him a look and accidently walked both me and Otto into him. "Oops, sorry I slipped." Geoff stumbled and pouted whilst Otto shouted at me.
"You could've killed me! That's it, I want a new horse." I stopped so he could dismount and we had barely started walking again before he had already wrapped his skinny legs around Geoff.
"To victory!" He screamed. Geoff snorted and galloped down the street, me laughing my ass off behind them. With Otto still on his back, Geoff bent down so Otto could unlock the door and he carried him inside.
I shut the door behind them and watched one of my best friends ride another one of my 'besties' around his house. Weird experience, hilarious memory. That is what a friendship is, pissing about with best friends giving no fucks.
"Aws help!" I raised an eyebrow and walked into the kitchen where Geoff was sprawled on the floor with Otto lying on top. "Why are you squishing Geoff? What did he do?"
"He rode us into battle and I got shot and died." He explained from the ground. I sighed and shook my head, walking over the heap of boys to the fridge. I reached inside and retrieved three bottles of HEB.
Otto reached up from his vertical position but I ignored him and sat on the kitchen table because I was extra. "Nah motherfucker these are mine!"
"My juice. My money." Otto groaned.
"Your Mom's money actually." I pointed out.
"Shut up." The shorter brunette pouted.
I felt like pissing him off slightly. "Make me." I taunted with a smirk.
"I can't. I'm dead." Otto pointed out, gesturing to Geoff.
"For fucks sake. If you get of my bo- best friend then I'll give you your juice." Shit. Hopefully neither of them picked up on it. Otto didn't but Geoff frowned slightly. Oops. "Do I get the other two?" I shook my head. "Nope Geoff needs one too."
He groaned and complained but stood up anyway. "Wow, I didn't think you were serious!" I said suprised. "The power of the juice was too strong, you had nothing to do with it." Otto shrugged.
"He had to have had some power over it. He could've had all the juice." Geoff joined in once he had stood up himself. I handed him the last bottle and winked, grinning when he blushed slightly. "Yeah but we don't tell him that. His ego's too big already."
"I'm the sassiest motherfucker both sides of the Mississippi." I said bluntly.
"My point exactly." Geoff laughed and exited the room to answer a sudden phone call, juice in hand.
"Ok so what's your deal with him?" Otto rounded on me once he was out of earshot. "What?" I looked away and sipped my juice. "Don't act dumb, something's going on between you two and I need to know right now." He demanded. "What? Why is it so important?"
"Because I saw you wink at him and you guys are obviously flirting and I saw you holding hands earlier." Oh crap. "First of all he just squeezed my hand because we were talking and I was a bit upset and I flirt with everyone, you know this."
"True but not like this. You never acted like this with anyone before. Not even Patty!" He exclaimed. Sometimes I forgot about that. We dated for about six months but it never felt right and it was weirs anyway, we didn't want to risk our friendship. Now he's met Ben and I've never seen him so happy, they're so cute together.
"That's not the full reason though. You seem impatient and like you're waiting for me to say something. What's the real reason?" I folded my arms and stared him down until he cracked.
"Ok...GraceandImadeabetthatyou'redatingandIsaidyouareandshesaidyou'renotandIneedtoknow." A fountain of words erupted out of his mouth at top speed.
"Ok, breathe and then speak English." I said. "I made a bet with Grace." He looked sheepish. I face palmed. Goddamn, why are we even friends? "You're an idiot."
"But? Are you dating or what?" I shook my head and bit my lip. "Sadly no."
"Sadly?" I put my juice down and clasped my hands together. Otto sensed my change in emotions and placed his bottle next to mine before enfolding me in his arms.
"He'll probably never feel the same way. I know he's dated guys before, he's told me, but I'm no one special. He's way out of my league. Why would someone like him fall for someone like me?" I asked Otto's shoulder, his embrace comforting me like it always does.
"Because I've seen the way he looks at you Awsten. He calls you Aws, he takes you out and is always there when you need him. Always. He never fails to make you smile when you're upset, even if it's a weak one and you've both opened up to each other about pretty much everything. You're both amazing and what you have is a special bond and something beautiful. You will both work this out, trust me."
"Aws? What's wrong?" A different voice asked. Otto let his arms be replaced with Geoff's as he re-entered the room. I looked up into his beautiful blue eyes, the same blue eyes that manage to hypnotize me everytime. "Nothing Gee, I'm ok. I just miss my Dad." I half lied. I did miss him but not at the moment. I felt safe in his arms, like he could protect me from everything and I never wanted it to end. Thankfully he kept me close to him for a while.
Over his shoulder I saw Otto wink at me and put his thumbs up. I rolled my eyes at him but he was right. We did have something special and Geoff meant the world to me.
Is it bad that I've already started the sequel to this and it's all planned out and we still have another 5-6 chapters left? I'm just so excited xox
