Shadow had bought both of his sons a toy that they chose as he felt bad for shouting at them. Now he was alone without sonic and had to support his sons without him it had become quite a challenge, he could barely even afford them, so he would have to pick up a few extra shifts at work to make up the money.

"Come on Slade don't make this difficult" Shadow said, trying to get his son to go into a pink hedgehogs house where he would be staying for a few days "no daddy I wanna stay with you" "I know and I'd love to stay with you and your brother too but I have work" Shadow said "I'll be back as soon as I can and I'll bring you something home" Shadow said "no! I don't want that I want to be at home with you and Sinos!" He yelled at his father. Shadow huffed and picked his son up and took Him into the rose hedgehogs house, making him cry.

"Papa is always mad at me and it makes me sad. He likes to leave with me with aunt rose but I don't like staying here. I wanna be with my papa." The young hedgehog cried on the phone which Amy had let him ring a familiar white bat on "aw hun I know it seems like he's mad at you but you both are going through rough times and it's not easy for either of you. He loves you and you love him. He has to work more now, he does it to keep you and your baby brother as happy as possible while it's like this. It will get better with time." She replied, the four year old sniffed

" Do you promise?" He asked while sobbing "yes I promise. I'll help the best I can" She said "your dad will ring you later tonight near bed time so you can speak to him. I'll remind him like always. He's a very busy man" rouge said. "Okay..." he sniffed "okay munchkin I'll see you later" rouge said "be a good boy... bye" "bye...... wait aunt rouge. I love you" he said sniffing, wiping his eyes while doing so. "Awww hun. I love you too my cute little nephew. Bye-bye" she said, hanging up the phone.

"Okay shadow calm down" the hot headed echidna demands. "How the fuck do you expect me to calm down!?" The ebony said, now invading the younger mobians personal space. "Right. Back up, there's no need to get physical shadow. We're all upset about this, how do you think we feel, we have known him longer then you have, think about how tails feels." This did not help with the raging hedgehogs anger, it just made it worse "I was married to him you fucking selfish prick! I have children to him! I was with him more or less every day after we started getting to know each other! This isn't a competition knuckles!" He was now in a state where he was shaking in anger and sadness, he just wish his husband was still with him to keep him from getting like this.

At that moment the white bat flew in "Shadow, Slade has just rang me.... right boys what is going on here. What have you said to him Knuckles!?" "I didn't say anything! He just gets mad, you know he's like this." "No he has been calm these past couple of years. What have you said to him." Rouge asked him.

"Shadow calm down, please" his husband said whilst his arms wrapped around him, keeping them pressed firmly against his sides. "It wasn't that serious and it's nothing I can't handle myself Shadow, please." He said, catching his attention, the blue hedgehog had gotten him to calm down, this was because he always that found that sonic made him calm but that only was is he saw that he was okay or had handled it himself. "I love you and only you bubs, he said that to aggravate you" he spoke up to his husband. Someone had claimed that sonic had cheated on his ebony lover, which rumours did go around now they were married because of the publicity that they have, however some wolf had taken that too far and spoke out to them both when seeing them do some shopping for their pup that was on the way.

"When will it get better Rouge" The dark mobian sobbed to the white bat, his unofficial best friend. "Hun, I know it's hard for you but I promise you it will over time, we all loved him and that's never going to change but now he's gone... Your pups need you to be stronger then ever for him and you know I'm always here to help out with them" she said, rubbing his back to calm him. "I promise you that." She said, pulling the fragile hedgehog into an embrace. All of this that had happened was too overbearing for him and he had lost his lover, here's the story that made the Hedgehogs world get flipped upside down...

One cold winters morning, two days after Christmas all was calm until another eggman attack occurred. The too male hedgehogs, the heroes, sonic the hedgehog along with his husband, shadow the hedgehog arrived at the scene. They were out shopping until they heard screams and yelling from the town centre, luckily they had just bumped into tails at the market, and were chatting so whilst they needed to go fight tails volunteered to look after their pups as they fought off eggman. "Eggman! Call them off or I'm going to have to break them all!" The eager blue hedgehog yelled, in response to that a large robot, the same size of a nearby building, dropped down from the sky, making the earth beneath them shake. "Not this time rodent! Meet your doom! I will get rid of you once and for all!" The bald headed man shrieked. With a chuckle and a huff both of the hero's began battling the giant robot. This thing was sure tough. Everything was going well until a young Hedgehog ran out into the battlefield, all he wanted to do was help out, seeing a spear from the robot aimed for the young Hedgehog, Slade, his mother ran, blocking him from the spear, which resulted in the death of the blue hedgehog just to protect his son.

The younger one shrieked and ran to his father who picked him up and held him against his chest, forcing the younger one to look away from his husbands bleeding body. Everything went quiet, the doctor didn't actually intend to kill the Hedgehog he even called off the robot. By then the team had arrived, the dark male had anger built up inside him, seeing his husbands body like that. He chaos controlled to the white bat, glaring at the young fox as he chaos controlled back to then robot, on top of it and chaos blasted the whole thing into pieces. "EGGMAN!" The dark one yelled, his body now it's a red aura around him. Seeing how mad the Hedgehog was the egg shaped man flew away in a hurry. Shadow moved back to his now dead lover, just holding his deceased body, crying into it until an ambulance showed up, to take away his blue lover, the town was in hysterics, their hero was gone and now a memorial took the place of his dead body, on the spot of where he died. The gang were in bits but kept it in while the pairs sons were around, however both of the boys had seen everything with their mothers body, which wasn't intended. So both were crying and nothing were calming them down. Shadow sorted himself out so he looked like he hadn't cried in front of the boys and took them both from rouge and tails.

He was extremely mad at the Fox for letting his son run out like that but he knew slade did that frequently when they were battling so it wasn't tails fault as he did try to keep to small boy back but accidental let him out of his grasp with resulted in his best friends death.
