Now that he's gone, I can't feel nothing

Levi rode on his horse scanning the surroundings. It had been hours since he saw the green flare meaning a sudden change of direction, but after that everything went quiet.

Everything felt surreal. He was a long way from the safety of the walls, and it had been a long time since he spotted a titan. Either something was wrong or he was still back at headquarters dreaming.

His realistic dream turned into a nightmare as he spotted another horse near a field of trees. A horse alone. He was never ready to see more of his comrades die.

Levi got off his horse and slowly began to walk through the sky-reaching trees. He came to a stop as he saw you. You were wearing your scout regiment uniform, a rose flower crown decorating your hair, and you were laying on the grass with your eyes close.
Laying down on a flower bed making it seem like you were dead.

"Cadet, y/n?" He asked confused. "What are you doing? Why aren't you with your team?"

You sat up and covered your face, feeling it turn a bright shade of red.
You were so embarrassed that, out of everyone who could have ran into you in this expedition, it was Captain Levi who caught you in your distraught state.

"I'm fine, Captain." You were aware that he was asking you what you were doing, not how you were doing, but you just wanted him to leave you alone without you having to give him an explanation. "You can go ahead to leave without me.....save yourself."

Levi rolled his eyes at your dramatic words, and reached for your arms. You were covering your face, and he wanted you to look at him while talking to him.

His strength easily overpower yours, and your face was uncovered.
He quickly let go of your arms as he saw tears escaping your eyes. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

But his question only made more tears escape.

His eyes widened for a second, imagining the worse. "Are you hurt?" His eyes briefly scanned your uniformed body. There was no reason for you to be just laying around awaiting your death, you were a good soldier.

You shook your head no. "I'm not hurt. I'm fine, really, Captain."

He stopped for a second, thinking. He gently placed his hand on your shoulder. He knew about you and Eren. It wasn't a secret that you and Eren were dating and in love.
He had seen you two dance many times during training. The flowers always decorating your hair and your bright smile every time Eren spinned you around or gave you piggyback rides was quiet captivating.

And now he finds you crying for the first time....
"Did....something happen to Eren?"

You shook your head. "We weren't placed in the same team."

Levi knew that. You and Eren were never placed in the same team but after expeditions you two always seemed to return inside the walls together. Still smiling through the trauma and pain.

"Get up, brat." Levi forced you to your feet. Accidentally getting titan blood on your arms and face. "Tch. You're all dirty. Let's go get you cleaned up."
