The Ever Fall
River woods, wild and dark
There the silence spoke to me
Blustery blue the royal rubes
with earthy rogues and hearty larks
pulling at all I thought I dreamed
A melee for the moment dawned
between the void and all there was
A dancing, sparing, spinning scene
ensued in places now all but gone
when mystery itself wore the gloves
The sigh escaped my parted lips
when each in turn did there turn in
My own conscious, growing lean
in a whisper of my fading quips
and that true voice did then begin
She was a mountain standing tall
and an ocean deeper than I could see
But slowly did she pull me through
as I began that climb to the ever fall
and to the peace that makes me free
