Please climb back down to the safe side of the bridge. You don’t really want to do this, because, if you jump, I’m going to be the one with a trauma from seeing you jump. You don’t really want to do that to me, do you?

Besides, there is no guarantee that you’ll actually succeed. What if you survive, but break all your bones? Won’t it make things even worse?

I don’t know what happened that makes you think this is the only way out, but if you come back here, I’m sure we can find reasons for you to stay alive. There must be something in this life that you enjoy. Something that makes it worth living.

I don’t know you, but I would like to find out. Perhaps we can find some things we have in common.

Please take my hand and come back down. I would like to get to know you. I can’t do that when you’re about to jump off a bridge. It makes for tense conversations. And I’m not good with conversations anyway.
