Marcus Vandergree

Marcus clears his throat. “So, I’m supposed to tell something about myself now?”

Interviewer nods vividly and gestures towards the microphone. “Yes, yes. Go on.”

“Alright then. Here goes, I guess. I am Marcus Vandergree. Twenty-two years old. I live in a small apartment in the city. Both my parents are successful lawyers. They’re very busy, so I don’t see them a lot, but we get along well.

I have a girlfriend. Hi Jess. We’ve been together for almost five years. Yes darling, I know our anniversary is coming up, don’t worry.

Uhm.. what else… heh this is kinda awkward…. Let’s see… I’m studying to become a veterinarian. I love animals. I can’t help but take them in when one is in need of help. This dog followed me home the other night. He didn’t seem to have an owner and it looked hungry, so it’s been staying in my home since then. I put up an add with Animal Patrol, but no one’s come forward yet. I have two cats as well. One I adopted when I found it in a cardboard box along the road. I can’t believe there are people that would just abandon helpless animals like that. It was raining so hard and it looked completely sodden. It broke my heart. Poor thing. It’s the sweetest kitten you’ve ever seen.

The other cat was a gift from a friend of mine.

Oh and there’s this rabbit too. I found it on the small field behind my apartment. Its hind leg was injured. I couldn’t just leave it there. I’m going to be a vet after all.

It’s all patched up now, but it gets along with my other animals so well, I couldn’t part with it anymore.

Wait.. is my landlord watching this show?...”
