When I lived in the country I wasn't always allowed to come uptown

When I finally came of age and was allowed to do what I wanted I came uptown every chance I got

It was such fun to me that I decided to move uptown
Parties everywhere all the time

I couldn't keep up

So much to do

So little time

So I made up my mind

I was move n home

But when I got home I couldn't deal with the small town mentality

I couldn't keep up uptown
I didn't wanna deal with dumbsville

So I headed downtown

And that worked out so well that's where you can find me today...
