So many things are locked away

Surfacing randomly

With disturbing timing

I would like to put it all out there and walk away

I have exposed so much already

It hasn't hurt

Why am I so afraid

It and no one else can hurt me now...

It is only the past...

It still a part of my life and what has made me me...

Memories especially the bad ones seem to never completely go away

Until they are given no other option
