You Have Thorns

Freya had gotten to grips with her classes, picking up Hogwart's way of teaching took a little longer than she expected. She never saw any sign of Remus after her final class, she shrugged her shoulders heading towards the Great Hall.

She had learnt the Lunar patterns, something that would have never been of use to her was now her life. She attempted to try and calculate the date of the next full moon without Remus' notes with each of the dates for every month of the year.

"Okay, so if the full moon was on the 6th of February, the new moon should be on the 22nd of February, making the next full moon 10th of March?" she looked at Remus' notes

"8th of March damn it,"

"Trouble?" he questioned making her jump

"No, I'm just trying to learn Lunar patterns,"

"It took me a while to learn them accurately," he said, smiling at her, "my friends and I are going to Hogsmead do you want to join us,"

"Don't you need parents' permission?"

"Yes, but McGonagall said you might have a visitor, in the Hogs Head Inn," she creased her brows.

She quickly packed her things, there was a small part of her that worried Remus' friends wouldn't like her, he had practically spent most of his time with her since, they returned to school. She wondered who the visitor could be 'maybe aunt Nora wanted to know how my full moon had gone'

"You were right, he brought her," a messy-haired boy said, handing another with long black hair, a few Galleons.

"Boys, this is Freya Thorn, that's James, Sirius and Peter," he pointed each of them out to her.

"That? How rude, Moony," Sirius commented, taking her hand, placing a kiss on her knuckles "Pleasure to meet you at last,"

"He a charmer," she said, smiling at Remus "isn't he,"

"Always a gentleman, for pretty ladies,"

"Stop with the flirting," Peter commented, "next thing you know you'll be flirting with Filch," Freya chuckled,

"It's kind of nice to be flirted with, is he used to the rejection though,"

"Ouch, you hurt my heart, I guess the name Thorn suits you, cause you have Thorns" she laughed

"She's good, she can take a joke," James said, the five of them made their way to Hogsmead

She underestimated the beauty of Hogsmead, her father had always told her it was like any old British village, untouched by the modern world's house of today. They all smiled at her as she hadn't heard a word they said to her only seeing her face light up.

"Freya?" Remus questioned

"I'm sorry, it's just England is so different, there are no villages like this, at least not where I live," she took another look around, "were you telling me something?"

"Yeah, the Hogs Head Inn is there," Remus pointed out to her,

"We'll be a Honeydukes," Peter to her

"You will be, I'm going to Zonko's," James told them

The four boys split up into two James and Sirius heading one way and Remus and Peter heading the opposite direction. She sighed as entered the Inn, her eyes lit up immediately upon seeing her parents she rushed towards them wrapping them in a tight embrace, unable to hold her tears back, she cried.

"Hunny, don't cry," her mother said, with tears in her eyes too,

"I can't help it," she chuckled, wiping her eyes.

"Well, here sit down, I'm surprised Aberforth remembered me," her father said, waving at the wizard stood behind the bar.

"How've you been?" it seemed like a ridiculous question, it was clear that she hadn't been great.

"Not as bad as I thought, McGonagall, introduced me to someone else like me,"

"Ahh, Minerva working her magic," her father said, smiling as he took a sip of her drink.

"Another werewolf, at school poor thing I couldn't imagine what you've both been through," her mother said

"He's really and taught me a lot, he's outside if you'd like to meet him," she said, they eagerly nodded wishing to meet the boy that helped their daughter through a difficult part of her life. She looked around for him, then she sensed him, he was close by the crowd of students made it difficult for her to him. She walked forward into someone, she looked up.

"Are you alright?" he asked

"Yes, I didn't expect it to get busy this quick," she held his hand pulling him through the crowd "Mom, dad, this is Remus Lupin, my saviour for the last month,"

"I wouldn't go that far," he said, downplaying his role in her survival against her first full moon

"You are a blessing young man," her mother said, embracing him warmingly, she chuckled as Remus awkwardly moved away from her,

"It's fine, it's actually been nice to have someone who understands me now," he said smiling at her they were interrupted by James running toward Remus.

"Protect me," He stood Freya in front of him "I fooled Sirius, needless to say, it didn't go well,"

"Potter, don't hide behind her," Sirius came over to them, they ran around Freya until he caught James.

"Potter? You say, wouldn't be Monty's son would you?" her father said, she often forgot that her father attended Hogwarts he probably knew their parents.

"How could you tell?"

"A hunch," he said he turned to Freya "we must be going I promise my sister I'd have dinner with her, take care of yourself, sweetheart," he turned his attention to James, "Does your father still living in his old family home," he nodded "I might pay him a visit it's been too long,"
