part eleven
Birds chirped outside of their window and all over the city. Tim opened his eyes slowly and breathed in deeply. When he exhaled, he felt an arm around his waist, gently tightening its grip around him.
He looked down and found Annalise's relaxed face, eyes shut and eyelashes softly moving, indicating she was dreaming. She made a gentle nose scrunch that made Timothée smile at the ceiling.
He moved her arm away very softly as to not wake her up, got up from their bed and grabbed his underwear from the ground. He put the clothes on as he walked out of the bedroom, not before making sure Lise was covered by the blankets.
She was deep in her sleep, turned to the right and faced the window. He smiled to himself. Tim proceeded to make his way to the living room. He had woken up in the middle of the night to take the vinyl off the player and turned it off, as well as the lights, but the rest was still a mess. He tied up a little and proceeded to make breakfast.
He prepared what they would've eaten at Lise's place if things hadn't blown out of proportion months ago. He made some pancakes, got some berries and placed them on the plates, and even served a bit of greek yogurt into a pair of cups.
Not shortly after he started making the food, Annalise opened her eyes and smiled to herself as she remembered what happened last night and the whole ordeal that it was to get to that press conference in time. She got up, walked to the closet and grabbed a black hoodie. She threw it over her torso and grabbed her underwear from the ground to put it on a second later.
She walked out of the room and down the hallway to find Tim taking out two mugs of coffee. Before he could prepare it, he focused on the pancake that was on the pan, getting burned. He cussed under his breath as Anna wrapped her arms around his naked torso. He jumped, this made them laugh.
"Hey." He said.
"Hi." He turned around and placed his palms on her cheeks, cupping her face, then, he leaned over to kiss her. She smiled into the kiss once again. "That pancake is burning." She said, pulling away as the smell of burned bread filled her nose.
"I'll save him, not to worry." She chuckled.
"I'll prepare coffee." He nodded and she started preparing the hot beverage. Once it was done, she also served some orange juice into two glasses.
The second everything was ready, Timothée opened the glass gate of the terrace and they walked out with the plates and mugs to set their table outside and enjoy the cold morning breeze alongside the warm sunlight.
Both of them enjoyed a quiet breakfast, but the silence made them even more comfortable. Eventually, she had gone to find a book to read from his bookshelf: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Her childhood favourite. She sat down by the terrace where they were still.
This has been their routine for the past weeks, sometimes they'd read out loud for each other or watch a movie or a show instead of reading and, as they watched, they'd come up with silly theories about what would happen next or why was happening what was happening.
One morning after one of their at-home-movie-night, they stayed in bed until noon, neither of them wanted to get up or let go of their embrace. Lise looked up at him as he played with her hair.
"Can I stay a little bit longer?" He smiled.
"Stay forever." And now, they stayed together. Now, mo press was outside to take pictures and spread hurtful gossip. Now, if one of them opened the door, they were received by the golden daylight. She smiled and kissed him. Tim smiled into the kiss and kissed her back. That's when they knew this was where they were meant to be.
With the time, Lise had to go to work and he made sure to drive her whenever she crashed at his place, or pick her up if they had a date scheduled for the evening. Tim lived a very mundane life with her, and it was as if fame had never happened, he felt whole.
On their new day-to-day life as something-more-than-friends, and eventually a couple-that-hasn't-made-things-official-before-the-public-eye-but-only-for-their-inner-circle, they spotted a few paps every now and then following them around, but now they didn't care, now, they would hold hands tightly as they walked down the streets or hug each other as they crossed from one side walk to the other one, or maybe even kiss underneath a stoplight. They did not care. All they cared about was each other's wellbeing and the way they loved each other. That's it.
They alternated where they'd hang out, it could be at Annalise's cozy little home or Timmy's fancy, but not any less cozy, apartment. Tim was back into the friend group and that made him have a new bunch of close friends and laugh his ass off at every dinner he attended or they attended. He was the newest addition to the family.
After two very nice and long weeks, the time came, Lise drove Tim to the airport. He pulled his suitcase from the trunk of the car and they walked down the parking lot, into the building and all the way to the waiting room for him to board the plane, the whole time, their fingers remained laced. They went to get some coffee when the passengers were called to get into their flight, so, they walked back into the open room where many other people were but very few cared about who they were.
"Well...I guess I have to board now." He said as he kept a bag of chips into the pocket of his zip-up hoodie.
"I guess you have to." She said, burring her hands into the pocket of a hoodie she stole from him, the black LV hoodie he wore to the fashion show of the brand in Paris a few years back. He smiled at the sight, for the piece of clothing was slightly too big for the blonde young woman.
"Will you be coming?"
"I will, in two weeks I'll be hanging out with you in the UK." He nodded.
"I'm looking forward to that." She smiled as he stepped closer, his hands cupping her cheeks and hers finding his waist before their lips met. When they broke the kiss, their foreheads touched. "See you soon." She nodded.
"See you soon." Tim left a peck on Lise's lips before he grabbed his suitcase with one hand and her hand with the other one. They walked hand in hand until they couldn't. "I love you." He stopped on his tracks, turned around and smiled brightly at her, Lise smiled back at him with the same amount of energy.
"I love you too." He said and, with that, he walked through the boarding door to get lost behind the wall.
Annalise walked away towards the parking lot and made her way home. She proceeded to hang out with her friends and have a fun night out with the gang. Eventually, she got a text from Tim saying that he was safe and sound in London, about to sleep on his hotel bedroom, she wished him a goodnight and he wished her a nice evening.
They already knew timezones would be a hard thing to work with, they knew that the second they signed up for their relationship. But they thought that, if they were able to overcome the press going nuts on them, a different hour wouldn't be that complicated.

The days went by quickly and, before than expected, Annalise found herself packing her things and being driven to the airport by Tommy. They sat together and talked about what would happen next, that being the long awaited wedding, which Naomi and Tom decided to plan even if they wouldn't get married just yet.
As Thomas' made of honour, Lise had a bunch of things to do, but thankfully Lennon would help her out as the bride's made of honour. They grabbed a coffee as each one of them worked on the articles they would be handing in by the end of this week so that they were printed on Sunday to be out on Monday and even had lunch as she ranted about her itinerary. It consisted in walking around the big city, sitting down in parks and just look around, listening to music and visiting coffee and book shops.
"I'm happy for you." Said Tom, making Lise smile.
"Thanks, pal." He nodded.
"What will you write while you're there?"
"I will ask the producers for an exclusive and will end up interviewing Tim, I suppose. After that, I won't write for a week, I'm using my vacation days."
"Very well earned vacation days, might I add." She smiled and took a sip of her coffee as the passengers were asked to board the plane.
"You will take care of the bookshop, right?" She asked as she kept her laptop into her bag and stood up.
"Yeah, I already swore on it with my life, dude." She rolled her eyes at the way he always made her look so dramatic and took another sip of her coffee, carrying her coat with her free hand. "Everything will be just fine."
"I know that." She stopped before the gate. "See you in a bit, Tommy."
"See you." She hugged him and he hugged her back before she stepped away and handed over her boarding papers to be able to walk through the gates. "Call me when you get there!" He asked as the girl walked through, she smiled and nodded as she waved goodbye, moments later, she boarded the plane and waited for it to take off.
Hours went by in which she wrote, read and slept until she landed in the UK, she picked up her luggage and as she walked further into the building, she ended up finding a tall and skinny guy with brown curly hair wearing sunglasses and a soccer team cap looking in all directions with some flowers in his hand.
She smiled and stopped walking when she crossed the gates, that's when his eyes landed on her and he smiled back at her. She resumed her walk as Tim opened his arms for her and the second Lise was in front of him, they wrapped each other into a tight embrace that led on to a movie moment with a kiss. A lovely cliché, let's be honest about that.
"For you." He said after they separated from each other. She giggled and blushed as if it was the first time he ever got her flowers when it definitely wasn't. "Roses and daisies."
"Thank you, they're lovely." She left a peck on his lips.
"Well, I can only assume you're tired and quite jet lagged, so, let's go to the hotel for you to freshen up and sleep."
"You put a lot of thought into this moment, didn't you?"
"I did." He grabbed her suitcase and placed his arm around her shoulders while she placed hers around his waist and carried her flowers.
Paparazzi were waiting outside the airport but the two of them got into the car that was waiting for them outside quickly and got going. Timothée's plan was put into action the second they arrived at their suite, can you guess which hotel they were in? Correct, The Ritz. A funny joke as told by Annalise when she stepped out of the car and looked at the hotel's entrance.
Later on, when night had fallen over London, they got glammed up to attend a dinner with the rest of the cast. Lise thought they were all very welcoming people and she's smart enough as to take a bit of advantage, she asked it it was alright to ask a few questions as a reporter and no one denied. She ended up recording the conversation —obviously after she had asked for permission— and got to work on an exclusive throughout the week besides the article that she was polishing to send it by tomorrow.
The evening had been lovely and everyone had fun, but the night wasn't over for our two main characters. Tim had planned out an after event for them that included grabbing some tea and walk down a garden until they headed back to the hotel.
Next morning both woke up super early because Tim was off to set and Anna was allowed to join for the day, that gave her the chance to take more notes for the article. Then, she'd stay at the hotel or find little cafes where to have breakfast and work, walk down parks and sit down against a tree or on a bench to read, etcetera, exactly like she had planned out.
When the time came, Timmy drove Lise to the airport, they listened to their favourite music the whole time and eventually hugged and kiss for the last time in months, and Lewis boarded a plane.
She came back to New York and went on with her usual routine. Eventually, she picked Timothée from the airport about three months after she left the UK, and I could go on describing what the routine was. But I won't bore you with that, instead, I will tell you what happened exactly in a year and two months from now.
Tim participated in a couple films, all of them were a hit at the box office, he won the Oscar for Best Actor for his film Beautiful Boy and thanked everyone in his life that he had to thank on a very emotional speech, Annalise finally got promoted and was now a step away from becoming an Editor at the Magazine, Tom got promoted too, Nick became the Head Chef at the restaurant he was working at, Naomi was Head of Paediatric Surgery, and Noah and Lennon decided to become an official duo and signed with Republic Records.
This large group of idiots are doing great at the moment, and every single one of them is really happy in their relationships. Tim and Lise learned how to work it out with being in the public eye and they really enjoyed being private but not a secret, they were also great at doing so.
And, you know who were also very happy and very excited? Thomas and Naomi. Why? Because they finally decided to set a date for the wedding, thinking that their careers are on a very good level. If they've learned something from life itself is that sometimes you just need to say 'fuck it' and toss a coin in the air to see which day might fate decide. So, now, we find ourselves on the day of the ceremony.
Annalise found herself helping Tom with his bow tie, for his nervous hands couldn't get it done. He was breathing in and out to calm down while she smiled at him when he wasn't looking but he obviously knew.
"What?" He asked looking at her.
"What, what?" She asked back as she tilted the tie a bit to the right to make it look perfectly cantered.
"You're smiling. Are you making fun of me?"
"What?" She frowned.
"What is it? Is if the glasses? Do I look weird with contacts? Because I always wear my glasses. I actually thought of not wearing the contacts and keep the glasses on but then I thought of the pictures and how the flash was going to reflect on my eyes at all times and couldn't bare with the idea of my wedding pictures looking odd because they'll be there for the rest of my life." He breathed in after talking abnormally fast. "Wait, no, that's not it..." He meditated for a second. "Be honest, is it the hair?" She chuckled at her best friend's nervous behaviour. "I knew it. The hair."
"No, Tom, your hair-"
"Noah told me to get a haircut last week, I shouldn't have listened to him, my hair looked just fine." He cut her off as he started to pace around the room, for the tie was perfectly done now. Lise took advantage of that to fix her black dress and make sure it looked perfectly smooth and with no wrinkles. "I mean, I admit it was longer than I've ever had it before, no wait, it was longer in College, right? Anyway, I must look-" She busted into laughter. "Don't laugh at my crisis, Annalise Lewis! This is serious! It's not funny at all!"
"Right! Sorry, sorry. Not funny at all." Tom was too focused freaking out as to note her sarcasm and Lise continued laughing either way.
"Nom made a very weird face when I showed up and my hair was short all of the sudden" She sighed as she stopped laughing even if the scene was a bit too amusing for her and she wanted to continue giggling at Tommy. "She said 'oh, honey, it looks...great'. It was a pause. Pauses are no good when giving compliments, are they? I really shouldn't have..." And he was not stopping now. She had to make him stop, otherwise the groom was never going to arrive at the wedding, and not because he had cold feet, he would not show up because he wouldn't be able to stop rambling about his hair.
"Tom." She tried to call his attention but he was still walking around the room and couldn't stop ranting about past conversations. "Tommy." Nope, he didn't listen. "Thomas!" Tom stopped walking and looked at her, hands on hips.
"What?" He said after a few seconds.
"There's not a problem with your hair."
"There isn't?"
"No."
"So it looks cool?"
"Yeah, very cool. You look like James Bond, actually. There's nothing to worry about."
"There are plenty of things I should worry about."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes! What if she doesn't like the way my hair is done? Even if I look like James Bond. Actually, even if I look like James Bond and she fancies James Bond, she could not like my hair."
"She'd love if because she loves James Bond."
"Still!"
"Tom, leave the hair thing, seriously! You look great." He nodded and sighed, tapping his toes against the ground.
"Okay, what about the...flowers?" It was Lise's turn to sigh.
"She picked them."
"The way the guests are seated at the venue?"
"Lennon handled that."
"Precisely."
"She's good at it, that's completely covered. We know who would have nice conversations with who and Naomi made it clear on which people shouldn't sit with which people."
"The music?"
"Noah's in charge."
"He could choose the wrong playlist."
"No, he won't. When it comes to music he does a great job, I mean...he's a musician, dude."
"The food?"
"Noah's not cooking, Nick is and there's nothing to worry about."
"What about the-" She groaned and rolled her eyes with a smile.
"Stop, for fuck's sake!" She approached him and placed her hands over his shoulders. "Calm the fuck down, Tom. I know you're nervous but the only thing you should be nervous about are your vows and you wrote those, meaning you won't forget them, and you write beautifully, so I won't worry about that either." He breathed in and out. "All you will do today is enjoy, get drunk and have a blast. Let me and Lenn worry about all of that, okay?" Tommy smiled. "Everything is meticulously calculated because we know how much of control freaks you two are. As your maid of honour, I've got it covered. Trust me."
"All of it?"
"All of it. Nothing can or will go wrong, and if it does, Lennon and I will deal with it while you're not looking. Is your big day." She shook his shoulders, making him giggle. "It'll be okay and will go smoothly, I promise." He sighed, relieved of having the woman that has always understood him beside him at one of the most important days of his life. He hugged her tightly and she chuckled, making him laugh as well.
"Thank you, for everything."
"You're so very welcome." They separated a bit from each other.
"I love you." She smiled.
"I love you too." He breathed in and smiled back at her. "Now, remember what you always say: turn nerves into excitement, and let's get you out there, alright?" Tom chuckled and nodded.
"Okay."
"Great." She grabbed the small bouquet of flowers the maids of honour would have in hand and walked out of the room until they found themselves in line to walk down the aisle.
Music started playing and Tom's mother gave him away, when he stood there waiting to the left, Lise placed herself behind him and behind her were Noah and Nick. The bridesmaids walked in, Lennon leading the line, behind her were Naomi's friends from work.
That's when the music went from "Canon in D" to "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis Presley and everyone stood up when the bride appeared. Her brown hair perfectly curled with the white veil falling over it, a big smile on her features and a steady hand that, to the trained eye —meaning the four people that were already waiting for her— was shaking as it held the bouquet of flowers tightly.
Annalise's eyes flooded with tears, as well as everyone else's, but the one that laughed and cried the most was Thomas. He was beyond happy. Lise smiled as Noah handed her a tissue for her to take off the tears from her eyes, then, she handed the second tissue to Tom, who smiled at her before washing off his own tears.
Naomi was also crying a bit and Tom washed off her tears when her father had given him her hand. From that moment on, the ceremony went on smoothly and beautifully, it didn't take long for them to give each other the definitive 'I do'. They didn't get married in a church, but in a lovely garden that Nom had picked. The party started right after they walked down the aisle together, holding hands and laughing as everyone clapped and cheered.
Fast forward to the night and the party. Lise was sitting on her table drinking a glass of wine, a huge smile on her features as she watched, not only the couple that was dancing in the middle of the room, or Lennon and Noah playing some of their records to the whole party, but Tim dancing with her mother. The tall brown haired guy was laughing with the woman as they danced and talked. When the song was over, Tim walked with Lise's mom towards a bench in the back of the place. Chalamet exchanged an accomplice nod with Tom, the groom smiled at him.
Turns out Timmy had a plan, and everyone had agreed on helping him. He decided to take his relationship a step further and he knew it was risky, also, when he told the rest of the gang, Naomi was the one to come up with the idea. Tom approached his maid of honour and asked her to dance with him and she obviously accepted, so, after she took off the black cravat that was covering her shoulders, they danced —that was Tommy's task: keep Lise entertained so that she didn't suspect anything— while Tim sat with Lise's mother to have a word with her.
"You're a very good dancer." He told her.
"You're not so bad yourself, Tim." He chuckled. "Now, young man, why have you brought me here? My glass of wine is waiting for me." He chuckled again and she chuckled with him. One of the many things mother and daughter have in common: their drink of choice.
"I brought you here because I need to have a word with you ma'am, without Lise knowing." Marjorie frowned.
"Is something wrong?"
"No, nothing's wrong, everything is just fine. Is just...I wanted to ask for your blessing." The woman gasped quietly. "I want to ask her to marry me and I couldn't reach you before, so, I figured now would be the best moment to ask you." She smiled and placed her hand on his cheek.
"Well, I am more than glad to give it to you. My Lissie hasn't been as happy as she is with you, last time I saw her like this was long ago. You're good for her, Tim, and you will make her very happy." Tim's eyes flooded with tears of pure excitement and gratitude at her words. "Do you have the ring yet?"
"I...sort of. Not yet. I had a little thing planned until I was able to find one that-" She shook her head and took off her own ring. "Marjorie..."
"She always liked my ring." And it was a beautiful piece, a small golden ring with three diamonds, one big two small on the sides. "It would be lovely for her to have it, don't you think?" Tim scoffed as the woman placed the ring on his palm.
"Yeah, it would." He looked up and smiled at her, she smiled happily but with a hint of sadness over her lips.
"Frank would love you for his little girl." Timmy's heart grew smaller and nodded.
"Thank you." She nodded and he breathed in as he kept the ring into the inner pocket of his blazer. "Now, would you like to go back to your wine?" She laughed.
"I'd like that very much, thank you." He laughed and stood up before holding out his hand for her to take it. Moments later, they walked back to the table where she sat down. When Tim's eyes found Naomi's she arched an eyebrow and he smiled before nodding, making the bride smile brightly.
Only moments later, all the ladies were called to the middle of the dance floor for the bouquet throw. Lise made her way to said area, but stood at the back until Lennon showed up and dragged her with herself to the front. She took it as a joke but obeyed either way. Naomi pretended to threw it twice before she turned around all of the sudden and threw it at Lewis, who caught it but had confusion in her eyes because Naomi literally wanted her to have it. Everyone cheered as she laughed nervously and the music resumed while she made her way to the table to leave the flowers on her seat. She chuckled when Tim had a —perfectly acted— surprised face on his features.
"Well, well, well. What should we do about that?" He said, as if he didn't already know. Marjorie smiled and he sent her a wink as Lise fixed her lipstick and 'Moon Song' by Phoebe Bridgers started playing.
"Dance." Lise answered as she kept the red lipstick and small mirror into her bag before extending her hand for him to take it. Tim smiled and nodded as he stood and laced his fingers with hers. They walked towards the dance floor to slow dance together. She moved the intertwined hands behind her back, his free hand found her waist and hers found the back of his neck, foreheads touching. He chuckled a second later. "What?"
"You're the weirdest person I've met."
"I'll take that as a compliment, thank you. Why?" She asked with a laugh escaping her mouth.
"Who dances with their hands behind their back?" She shrugged. "Just you."
"Just me." He laughed and kissed her cheek. "And you're pretty weird too, you're a goofball."
"Thank you."
"My pleasure." He shook his head and smiled before he leaned over and kissed her lips. She smiled into their kiss and that always made him feel like it was the very first one.
The hours of the party went on until two in the morning, Tim and Anna agreed on going to his place for the night because it was closer, but, Tim had other plans. They were in the car listening to her playlist, Lizzy McAlpine echoed softly as he drove down the almost empty streets with their windows down. Lise played with the petals of the yellow flowers from Naomi's bouquet and had her head reclined against the seat to look out the window, she frowned when Tim made a turn that was going to take them to her place instead of his.
"Why did you take that turn?" She asked.
"Well, I need to go to your place to pick something up and I have to go to the bookshop too." She frowned even more as she looked at him. He stopped at a red light and looked at her, when he saw her confusion, he chuckled. "Remember I told you I asked for a package I need for work?"
"Yes, the rest of the Dune books." He nodded.
"Well, I saw a message that they were delivered."
"Wasn't the package going to be delivered at your place?"
"That was the original plan, but, you said it would be cheaper-"
"If they were delivered at the bookshop." She nodded and the light turned green, so, he resumed his drive to the place.
"You asked me to check your mail the other day and there was the message."
"Yeah, yeah, I remember that." They smiled at each other and remained silent for the rest of the way. Eventually, they arrived and he parked by the store. "And what are you picking up from my place?"
"My charger." She nodded and took out her keychain from her purse to hand it over to him. "Thank you, I won't be long." She nodded and he walked out of the car. She saw him getting into the shop and closing the door, then, she waited. And waited. And kept on waiting...until she got tired of waiting.
"What's taking him so long?" She pulled out her phone to ring him and ask if he was alright or if he needed help to find the package but quickly noticed his phone was in the car, that made her sigh. She turned off the car, for he had left the key there to make her believe he wouldn't take long, grabbed his phone and walked out of the car. She placed the items into her purse after she locked the car and walked into the shop. "Tim?" She said as she looked around, even in the darkness she knew her local and she could tell no one was there. "Timothée?" She spotted a candle turned on by her desk, she frowned and approached the area to find a post-it note and her keychain.
Got the package, here are your keys. I'm at your place, meet me there.
"What the heck?" She frowned but found herself intrigued. For someone who spent most of her life reading fantasy books, whatever feels like a treasure hunt is interesting. When did the guy had walked out? About five minutes ago. Why didn't she see him on his way out? Because he had gone out through the back door. He's clever. Lise walked out of the shop after blowing off the candle and proceeded to lock the door again before crossing the street and walking towards her place. "Timmy?" She called as she opened the door and looked around, the place was illuminated by the dim light emitted by candles and there was a trail of rose petals. She frowned as she closed the door behind her and followed the red velvet path. It took her to the window and all the way up through the fire escape. She smiled as she walked upstairs and even more when she found the guy at their rooftop and her puppy, who ran to greet her, making her laugh. "What's all this?"
"Well...just...something." They chuckled. Tim was getting nervous by the minute and she got nervous because of how confused she was. "How long have we known each other?"
"Two years and a bit."
"Two years and a bit." He repeated. "Well, since I met you, Lise, my world turned upside down. Quite literally." She giggled and he smiled. "And, even if we had some downfalls, and things were complicated for a while, and we experienced a sort of heartbreak, and things were rough, you made everything feel so easy. You make it feel very...warm and...golden." She smiled.
"Someone has been listening to Taylor Swift a lot lately."
"Well, that's totally on you. You're the one that has made me scream her songs at the top of my lungs as we drive, cook or hang out at whoever's apartment." She shrugged and nodded as she shivered, and he approached her as he took off his blazer. Not to worry, everything is going according to plan. "And there's no one else I'd rather sing her songs with." She tilted her head, moved by the comment. "Or go to Central Park in the mornings to just sit and watch the world around me, have a coffee first hour in the morning and a tea at night or maybe another coffee at midnight, argue abut films and shows, talk about books or just look at whenever she reads to see how her eyes travel to the most distant corners of so many different worlds and different versions of our own." Her eyes started filling up with tears. Man, the guy's a poet. "Travel the world with, go to bed and wake up beside her. There's no one, Lise, no one." She chuckled. "I love you."
"And I love you."
"You shifted my world into a whole different thing and...you made me love you and everything you do with every fibre of my body and soul." The tears fell and he washed them off as he cupped her cheeks. "And that's why..." He placed his hand into his pocket and pulled out her mother's ring as he went down on one knee, making her give a step back and cover her mouth as she frowned. When his eyes went from the beautiful stones of the ring to her beautiful eyes, he frowned and cleared his throat as he felt a knot in his throat and tears filled his eyes too. "I want to ask you to be there, every night, and every morning of every day, of every month, of every year, for the rest of my life. I want to have you beside me in every step I take because...you're my one and only, the love of my life and my soulmate." She chuckled and he smiled. "You make me feel like I'm enough, you make me smile on my way home, dance to glimpses of music that come out of the restaurants as we walk down the street, you make me happy. You've showed me what happiness is as well as love...what true love is."
"Another Blondie quote?" She laughed.
"I've said a few, actually." They laughed.
"I noticed." He smiled at her, and he could swear, she looks so beautiful in the moonlight.
"I guess that, what I'm trying to simply get out of my mouth and off my chest is...would you marry me?" She chuckled and knelt before him as she nodded. He smiled as her cold hands cupped his cheeks to pull him in for a kiss that he smiled into as his hands found her waist.
"Yes." She whispered as he stood up, bringing her up with him.
"What was that? I couldn't quite catch it?"
"Yes." She said louder.
"What?"
"Yes." She said once more as they laughed and he spinned her around as they hugged. When he placed her back onto the ground, his hand found hers and he slipped the ring down her finger. "Mom's ring." She pointed out when she looked at it.
"Yeah, couldn't do this without her blessing. She gave me the ring as we spoke."
"So this is why Naomi threw the bouquet at me specifically?"
"Yeah. That was her idea. This set up was Tom's suggestion. Everyone helped me do this." She kissed him again as she smiled and chuckled.
"I love you." She said, breaking the kiss.
"I love you." And their lips connected again as they embraced each other, the world went quiet around them as they stood there on that rooftop, with candles being slowly blown out by the wind and with a few petals flying off the floor. This was, indeed, the perfect movie moment for her, for him...for them.
