I

It's summer, finally. And Mark, the sports science major, couldn't wait to leave his stupid, boring dorm to let himself enjoy the warm sand, the beautiful sea and all the sexy boys at the seaside.

The last examination session has almost reached its end, there was only one exam left, the most important among all, and he needed to concentrate as much as possible in order to not disappoint his beloved professors.

It was a monotone, late afternoon when a knock on the door woke Mark up from his intense study. He angrily dropt the pencil and got up from his chair, stretching his arms, doubting whether open the door or not.

He heard his roommate, Doyoung shouting from the bathroom, "Open the door". Given the time, the only person who could be bothering him was none other than...

"Lee Donghyuck, what a surprise" Mark grumbled, opening the door.

The smaller boy ignored the sarcastic remark and gave him a huge, and a toothy smile. His adorable chocolate eyes disappeared in two cute, tiny crescents and his nose widened a little.

"Mark hyung!" he giggled happily, bouncing around the room, regardless of his childish behaviour.

He was got another of his strawberry popsicles in a hand, the usual light blue backpack hanging off a shoulder and wore one of his many baggy red sweatshirts and Mark could see a pair of denim shorts peeking out. Such a Tumblr boy.

Said boy tossed himself on the bed, crossed his legs and began sucking his popsicle. Mark closed the door and looked at him.

"You're sitting on my bed, you know" Mark pointed out, once he was back at his desk.

Donghyuck smiled. Again. "I know. Your bed has such a nice smell. Much better than Doyoung hyung's"

The older boy rolled his eyes and stopped himself from telling Donghyuck that he hasn't changed his bed sheets for almost two months.

"Whatever" he said shortly.

The younger boy lighten up.
"R-really? Thanks hyung, you're the best. Love you~" Donghyuck chuckled, sending him a flying kiss.

"Don't make loud noises, though. Don't even talk to me. I'm trying to study here"

"As you wish, my cute hyung!"

"I'm not cute!"

Just as Mark thought, two minutes later, Donghyuck was sitting on his desk, legs dangling into space, and started asking him about the book he was reading.

His curiosity is genuine and there was no trace of malice in his intentions, but Mark couldn't help but get irritated.

Freshly out from high school, Lee Donghyuck is just a little boy discovering the world. He had just moved to the dorm of his cousin Doyoung's university a month ago and his parents keep sending him money every week to make sure he gets everything he needs.

Mark met him a few weeks ago for the first time. Doyoung introduced him as the perfect image of innocence and from that day, he would always be in his way. Donghyuck is just like a kid who seems to ignore all the bad stuff happening around him, and he only wants to grow the fuck up.

"Mark hyung..." Donghyuck pouted slightly when he didn't get any answer to his questions and shook his shoulder.

Mark shrinked back and Donghyuck widened his eyes, scared of his reaction.

"I-I'm sorry, hyung. Did I disturb you?"

The older boy had frowning expression plastered on his face, and opened his mouth to say something but right in that moment Doyoung was coming out of the bathroom, and dressed all fancy.

"Doyoung hyung!" Donghyuck jumped up and rushed to hug his beloved cousin.

"Donghyuckie, how nice to see you!"

Mark rolled his eyes and huffed. Donghyuck hangs out with them almost every afternoon. They've seen each other the day before and now Doyoung and Donghyuck acting like they hadn't seen each other for years or something.

They see Donghyuck everyday, except when Mark has some free time and managed to get out from the shithole that is his room. How could Doyoung be so happy to see him?

"Uh. Doyoung hyung, I have to ask you a really important thing... I really hope you'll say yes!" Donghyuck asked hopefully.

"Yeah go ahead, I'm just putting my shoes on"

Mark looked up from his book and asked, "Where are you going, Doyoung hyung?"

Doyoung scratched his nape, clearly embarrassed. Donghyuck stayed still next to him, mouth opened slightly and the popsicle stick placed between the thumb and forefinger of his left hand.

"You know, me and Jaehyun are going to celebrate our first anniversary as a couple tonight"

"And why are you leaving now?" Mark threw a quick glance at the ugly clock on the wall. It was only five in the afternoon.

"I have to do... some stuff"

Mark sighed and decided not to investigate further, it's better this way, actually. Doyoung is almost as loud and chatty as Donghyuck and his absence will only help him to concentrate on the book.

Moreover, as soon as he was gone, even his adorable, clingy cousin will be quickly out of his sight.

"Sure, have fun! Tell Jaehyun hyung I said hi"

Doyoung smiled widely. "I will. We are planning to spend the night together, so don't bother waiting for me"

Mark smiled back and nodded. He glanced at his book, but he was still curious about Donghyuck's question.

While Doyoung tightened his shoelaces, Donghyuck started talking,

"Doyoung hyung, you see, Lucas hyung asked me so nicely if I could find myself another place to sleep tonight"

Mark widened his eyes almost comically and gulped, he already knew what he was going to ask.

"-since he and Jungwoo hyung need to spend some time alone to, you know, have se-"

"I-I got it, Donghyuckie!" Doyoung interrupted him.

Mark turned around slowly and stared at the two boys with an annoyed frown.

"Jungwoo hyung spares his room with Jaehyun hyung, right? The both of you are going to spend the night there, and I don't know where to go, hyung" Donghyuck pouted.

"You can crash here. No problem at all" Doyoung answered.

"Really? Can I?" Donghyuck smiled and jumped in excitement.

Absolutely no, Mark thought. It's his room too. He has the right to be asked first and have to say his mind. And his opinion was absolutely no. No.

Doyoung glared at him. "The heck, Mark! Why did you say that?"

And it was too late now, when Mark realized he was thinking out loud. Donghyuck had lowered his gaze and was looking at his hands, uncomfortable.

"I-I... said... no?" Mark spluttered, caught off guard. But he quickly got his usual determination back. "This is my room too, after all!"

"But the bed is mine" Doyoung complained, pointing at the said object. "I can give it to Donghyuck, if I want to!"

Mark got up from the chair he's been sitting on for the previous minutes and clenched his fists.

"I need to study! Donghyuck will annoy me the whole fucking time!"

"Oh, right" Doyoung said, touching his chin thoughtfully. A few seconds passed and then he started talking.

"Donghyuck will be a good boy, won't you, Donghyuckie? I really can't send him back to his parents home... they live in Jeju. And it's only for a night"

Donghyuck nodded vigorously. "Yes, Mark hyung. I'll be a good boy. I won't bother you at all, I promise!" he pretended to shut his mouth with an invisible zip, then smiled hopefully.

Mark knew it was not true. Donghyuck will get bored eventually and won't hesitate to start asking him silly questions to entertain himself.

But really, he couldn't say no. Doyoung is a good friend or hyung and Donghyuck is so cute-  wait, did he just think about him that way?

Another markhyuck book. Hope y'all like it😚
