Chapter One

Ritus's P.O.V.

"Class, today we have a new student. Ritsu Totoro." Looking at my class, I realized I was the only human. In this class of twenty nine people, excluding myself, there were; eight vampires, seven werewolves, six ghouls, five sirens, and three shape shifters.

"What race are you?" A vampire questions. This vampire had dark black hair, red eyes and pale skin, his pointed fangs peeking out of his mouth. I, on the other hand, had brown hair and green eyes with normal skin.

"Are you a shapeshifter?" This came from a shapeshifter. It was yet, another guy, with blue hair that cascaded over his eyes and blue eyes to match. He was also quite pale.

"Can't be. He wouldn't look that average." A ghoul sneered. This one had messy blond hair and brown eyes, his skin normal.

"Don't be so rude, looks aren't everything." Siren. This guy siren had very pale blue eyes and white hair. The skin was devishly pale.

"Not a werewolf." A guy with dark brown hair, almost black eyes, and tan skin sneered.

"Don't mind the student." Our teacher himself was a vampire. He had red hair that was combed neatly, his eyes were blue and his skin was pale. His fangs were retracted, but peeked out when he spoke.

"It's okay. I'm actually a-" I didn't know if it was safe to say.

"Go on, don't be shy." Sensei urged.

"I'm a human." All breathing seemed to drop, the entire classroom was silent.

"Human? This is going to be interesting." The vampire smirked.

"Definitely, haven't seen a human for a long time." The ghoul smirked, licking its lips. I remember learning awhile back that ghouls can eat any being(human/animal/monster), but is unable to consume stuff like plants and processed foods. They can also drink coffee. But, I should be safe, still doesn't mean I can't be worried.

"I don't feel even remotely safe anymore." I mutter, backing up a little.

"Don't worry Ritsu, if they try anything, the principle will gladly take care of them for you." Sensei assured.

"Unlike those two, the rest of us won't try and eat you." The shapeshifter assures.

"Besides, humans are endangered." The wild shrugs.

"That reminds me, do you have a family?" The siren questions.

"I had a mom and dad, they died soon after I was born though. Up until recently I lived with three other people, but we decided to part ways a little before the school year began." I informed.

"We're they also humans?" The ghoul questions.

"Yeah. Two guys and a girl. But, we all went separate ways. Literally. I went North, Rem went East, Rin went West, and Haruka went South. We just packed our bags and tried to make it on our own. I think in the only one who was under eighteen in our small group." I shrug.

"Why would you disband?" Sensei questions.

"Long story. Our back stories are completely different, one happy, one sad, one fucking messed up, and one unknown. Long story short, we wanted to explore, and we kinda all had something we're striving for." I inform.

"What backstory is yours?" The siren questions.

"I've got the sad one. But what I'm striving for is a secret." I smiled.

"Look, you've relaxed again." Sensei smiles.

"I guess so." I look at the class and see a seat directly in the middle of the five guys. A seat in the very front and the center.

"Looks like you're stuck with us." The vampire smirked.

"Can I please be anywhere but there?" I ask sensei.

"It's the only seat. They won't bite." He chuckled.

"I'm not so sure about the ghoul and vampire." The two looked offended. I shrugged and sat down. This year was going to be interesting. My day was quite uneventful until lunch. Because all shit happens during lunch. I had just walked in with my paper bag lunch, and notice people seemed to want me to sit with them. Was I suddenly popular because I was a human?

Anyways, there were basically groups. Considering I just wanted to sketch in peace, none of these choices were in my fucking favor. We had the jocks which consisted of six vampires and six werewolves. I liked sports, but they kinda scared me.

The next group were the nerds. It seemed nice, except all the nerds were all ghouls. Sorry guys. I still felt uncomfortable with Ghouls.

The table next was music lovers. This table had a few shape shifters and a lot of damn sirens. I mean, I liked music, but I couldn't play to save my life.

There were many other tables I just find now reason to sit at. Then I saw the artists. And for fucks sake, sensei and the five from this morning were there. Sensei seemed to be just passing by. His name was Takano Hiroki. But I preferred calling him sensei. He left and I took a deep breath, walking over and sitting down. They just stared at me as I pulled out a sketchbook.

"That literally took you five seconds, how did you know we were the artists?" The ghoul questions.

"There are art pads on the table you dumbass. I'm no jock, I can't play music to save my life. I don't plan to be surrounded by only ghouls, and nothing else interested me. I still just want you all to ignore me." They were baffled as I began sketching, grabbing an apple as I do it. I was just sketching the three other people I was living with. I made sure to capture the happiness in their eyes, the wind blowing through their hair, their smiles. I was only drawing from memory, so I drew our last meeting, adding myself. When I finished, I put it on the table and started eating the rest of my lunch.

"How the hell did you sketch this?" The vampire questions.

"I can draw from memory. These three our the people I lived with until recently." I informed, eating a pb&j.

"It's pretty good. Oh, we never introduced ourselves. I'm Ichigo." The vampire informed. No last name apparently. Oh well.

"I'm Hide." The werewolf smiled.

"Mino." The siren introduced.

"Call me Angelo. Ridiculous, I know." The shapeshifter grinned.

"I'm Loki." The ghoul grinned.

"Nice to meet you." I nodded and finished up my meal, then pop open a can of Pepsi.

"How can you drink that carbonated crap? It's liquid calories." The ghoul snorts.

"Says the ghoul." I roll my eyes.

"That reminds me, how do you know what race we are? We never said." Ichigo questions.

"Shapeshifter a normal have abnormal hair, blue or green, sirens often have purple, more so in males. Werewolves tend to be tanner, young vampires find it hard to retract their fangs and ghouls always have a hungry look in their eye. Things I picked up over my lifetime." If I didn't, I would've died a long time ago.

"Interesting. Random question, what do find the most attractive race?" Angelo questions.

"Most appealing physically is vampires, mentally, ghouls. Sirens appear more to those into a good voice, most perfect females cause they moan beautifully in bed. Werewolves appeal to people who want protection from others. And shapeshifter a are just fun to be around. I personally can't decide." I say with a smile.

"Which is the best kisser?" Loki questions.

"Vampires, the teeth make it much more erotic. This isn't personal experience, just scientific conclusion and reasonable observation." I note. I like science, and being a smart ass. Though, it's not always helpful.

"That so?" Ichigo hummed contently.

"From what I'm aware of, they tend to be more forceful in bed. I remember this story that Rem told me, about how five different races came onto him and I order to pick, he had sex with each race. That's how I learned some of these facts." I inform. The five guys turn bright red and I knew that they pretty much we're going to come into me as well.

"I'm not like Rem though. I'm a pretty cut and dry person, that is to say, I'm blunt and straightforward. I'm also not fond of sharing, or being shared." The boys seemed to blush more. "I'm also not a virgin, if you were wondering." The five looked shocked.

"How? It's not that you're unappealing, but I don't see how you could have anyone in your bed." Ichigo frowns.

"I'm an Uke. So, it wasn't my bed. But, I do know how to charm people." Only two of the boys seemed to understand the definition of Uke. The siren and the vampire.

"What the hell is an Uke?" Loki questions.

"It's the submissive person in a relationship. Or a bottom. A Seme is the dominant or top." Mino informed.

"I think I was with a vampire and a shapeshifter before, I haven't had the chance to try others. But again, I don't like the idea of being shared." I smile.

"Do humans just not have sexual with humans?" Hide questions.

"Not as stimulating. Maybe another reason we're endangered." I shrug.

"What do you mean?" Mino questions.

"Well, as well as having the same sensitive spots as humans, certain races have sensitive spots that humans don't have. Werewolves have their ears, vampires, their mouth, siren's throats, ghouls have their backs and shoulders, shapeshifter shave everywhere waist down." I recalled.

"What do humans have?" Angelo questions.

"Right below the lip," I drag my thumb across my lower lip "the base of our throats," I run a finger along my throat "and our nipples. That's about it." I look at the time. "Well, goodbye for now." I get up and walk away, purposely leaving my sketch book behind so they have an excuse to see me. I know they'll try to find one. On the way to my next class, I bump into sensei.

"Sorry Ritsu." He smiled.

"It's okay Sensei." I grin.

"I think you're the first student to call me that." Sensei smiled.

"Really? I just thought it was more appropriate. It rolls off the tongue easier." I inform.

"I guess so. Anyways, I see that you did something to those five artists." Sensei prods.

"They asked questions, and I answered, simple as that. Though, they probably didn't get the answers they exactly wanted to hear. Well, curiosity killed the cat." Sensei smiled.

"But satisfaction brought it back." He finished.

"Exactly. Anyways, I want to get to my next class before everyone else." I inform, smiling brightly.

"Well, just be careful. People are going to target you because you're human. And that Ichigo is a problem child, so I'd avoid him at any means possible." Sensei warns.

"He is. In what way?" I question curiously.

"Don't worry about it, for now, you should just get to class." I nod and walk past Sensei towards my next class. History of some sort. This would definitely be interesting.

Yet, there was this nagging feeling that Sensei wasn't telling me something. By saying don't go near Ichigo, I want to go near him. I really am more of the problem child than he is. This curiosity is going to kill me someday. But for now, I'll just try to be friends with those five and Sensei. I feel like only good things will happen if I do, and after previous experiences, I deserve a little bit of good in my life.

This was going to be a fun year.
