My name is Catherina and I'm going to tell you how a plane ride changed my life forever. However, to do that, I have to give you a bit of rundown of the events that lead to my current situation.

"Flashback"

I arrived home from school to find my step mother, my uncle, and a group of men in suits arguing. Not wanting them to see me, I rushed to my room. To my shock all of my belongings were packed into suitcases. As I glanced around my room in both shock and confusion, I heard a knock on my door. I turned to see one of the men standing in the doorway. "Who are you? What's going on?"

"I am a representative of the Alucard family. Your step mother owes them a lot of money. Money which she continuously has failed to repay."

"Please don't do this. She is my husband's pride and joy he will kill me when he learns what has transpired here. I am warning you, deal or no deal my husband will consider this an act of war." My step mother warns the men.

At this, the man chuckled in amusement. "You know, Mrs Bendito, you really should learn to read the fine print before you sign a contract. It states that we have the right to take anything we consider to be of equal value to the debt that you owe, and what's more valuable then one's children?"

"You won't get away with this. My father will track you to the ends of the Earth. Your going to regret kidnapping me."

Again the man chuckles sinisterly "my dear sweet child, we aren't kidnapping anyone. We are simply collecting on a debt."

I ran downstairs and into my Uncle's arms.
"Please don't let them take me."

"I am Sorry sweetheart, but there's nothing that I can do. These men represent a very powerful family. One we can't afford to anger. I'm afraid that we have no choice but to do as they request."

"I thought you said no one is as  powerful as our family. Why can't you refuse to allow them to take me?"

My uncle looked at me sadly and sighed. "It's complicated."

"Oh do stop behaving like a spoiled brat and for once in your life, do as your told without arguing." My step mother replies irritatedly.

"Fine. I'll go without arguing but only if you promise me that no harm will come to my family." I reply grabbing my backpack that held my favorite stuffed animals, a few coloring books and a binkie.

I suppose I should explain. While I am 16, I find it comforting to behave like a toddler. Life seemed at whole lot less complicated back then unlike nowadays.

My mother had been killed in a drive by shooting not too long after We came to live with my father. At first, my Step mother seemed to love and protect me. However, as I grew older I began to realize that it had all been an act. She didn't love me, she despised me. I was an unwanted thorn in her side.

As we drove off, I couldn't hold back the tears any longer. The man sitting next to me sighed and looked at me apologetically. It didn't take us long to arrive at the airport and to my surprise we went through security extremely fast. "Give me your hand." The man didn't wait for me to respond instead he grabbed my hand roughy pulling me to his side.

"Ow. Your hurting me. Let go." I demanded trying to pull my hand from his grasp.

"Not going to happen. I can't have you trying to run off on me now can I?" Our flight was delayed and I could feel myself getting both board, hungry and I really needed to go pee. So I tugged on one of the man's sleeve. He looked down at me in annoyance. "What?!" I shrunk back and whimpered. The other man walked over to us and smiled at me.

"What's the matter little one?" Too afraid to reply, I glance down at the ground sniffling as I shifted in place. The man nodded in understanding. "Let's get you to the bathroom and then something to eat."

"I don't think that's a good idea. What if she tries to run away?"

"You won't do that will you little one?" The man asked and I shook my head no. After using the bathroom and getting some food we stoped by one of the stores my eyes lit up at the sight of the stuffed animals.

The man chuckled in amusement as he knelt down beside me. "Would you like one?" I hesitantly nodded and the man smiled. I clutched my new stuffed Lotso bear as we returned to the gate.

The other man frowned. "What took so long? Stop spoiling the little brat." To which I responded by sticking out my tongue. "Better put that back in your mouth before I cut it off."

The man warned and I immediately shut my mouth and whimpered hiding behind the nice man, who shot his partner an irritated glare.

"Now boarding flight 672 to Orlando Florida. Now boarding first class passengers, and passengers with young children."

As we sat in our seats I began to tremble not in fear of the flight, but in fear of what lay
ahead. The reality of my situation finally hitting me. My own step mother had sold me to pay her debt. What was going to happen to me?

I had heard rumors that the Alucard family broke apart families, taking family members as collateral in exchange for people's debts but I never thought that the rumors were true, until now.

"I know that you are scared, but you have no reason to be. I can assure you that the rumors about the Alucard family are not true. They won't harm you. You seem board. Would you like to watch a movie?" I nod and the man selects Ferdinand.

I stare at the selection and frown. Not because I don't approve of it, but because I wondered why he chose it when there were movies like Birds of Prey or The Joker as options. Upon seeing the look of confusion on my face he chuckled. "Little girls shouldn't watch movies like those. They are far too violent."

When it got to the part in the movie where the bull was being sent to the slaughter house I began crying. "Now what?" The other man who was with us growled in irritation. And I shrunk back and let out a whimper as I began to tremble.

"I'm sorry."

"Shhh. It's alright little one. He's just cranky."

"She will never learn to be a proper Submissive if you keep coddling her like that."

"What's a submissive?"

"None of your concern. Besides, it's far to complicated for a little girl like you to understand." The man's partner replied with a scoff.

"I may act like a child, but that doesn't mean that I'm not capable of understanding adult situations. Now would someone please explain to me what you are talking about?"

"I'm sure the boss will explain everything to you in time. For now, just relax and enjoy the flight and don't worry about the cows. Remember, this is a Disney movie, there are no sad endings right?"

My head was swimming with unanswered questions. The only thing I knew for sure, was that once I stepped off this plane, my life would never be the same again.
