Chapter 29- Baby

Chapter 29

"Sweetheart," I hear and feel Michael's calming whisper tickle my ear.

I open my eyes instantly and expect to see the Neverland gates. But instead I find the outdoors, a wide open space.

"Where are we?" I ask.

"I hope you don't mind, but I didn't want to go home yet so I brought you to this park," he says.

"Of course I don't mind. As long as I'm with you," I reply, pushing myself out of the comfortable position against his chest.

"Great. Come on," he takes my hand and we step out of the vehicle and then he links arms with me.

"Shall we my lady?" He asks. I do a small curtsy with my skirt and let out a small giggle.

"Yes, we shall," then we skip goofily all the way from the parking lot to the park.

Michael looks up at a tall tree, his hands on his small waist.

"Do you think I can climb this?" He questions while pointing to the tree.

"Of course. You climb trees all the time." I answer.

"Climb it with me?"

I gesture to my outfit. "I'm not really ready for tree-climbing," I say.

"Neither am I! Just kick off your sandals and be careful with the splinters. Come on," he says.

I do what Michael said and walk up to the tree. I swing myself up, reaching the first branch until I feel something pierce my skin on my leg.

"Ouch!" I exclaim and I sit back on the branch, holding my leg.

"What is it?" Michael asks, quickly climbing up to me.

"I.. I think I hurt myself."

"Let me see." He perches next to me and takes my hands away from my leg, revealing a splinter.

"Dammit. You got a splinter right here. I'm going to pull it out okay sweetheart?"

I nod quietly and hold him tight, hiding my face in his chest as he carefully pulls it out.

"Ow," I whimper.

"It's okay, it's out. It just left a little bruise but you'll be fine." He says.

"Okay, thanks." I examine my leg and he's right. It's a small bruise on the side of my calf.

"We should get down, shouldn't we?" Michael asks.

"Yeah," I smile a little and start climbing down the tree, soon feeling the grass under my feet.

I turn around and Michael is nowhere to be seen. I even search up in the tree, nothing.

"Michael?" I call out.

I look around the tree trunk and then bump into him. He lets out a scream and I do too, frightened by his scream.

"You scared me!" I exclaim.

"I scared you?!" He gives a laugh and then we suddenly break out in laughter, so strong we fall back onto the grass with giggles.

He gets closer to me until he's on top of me. My laughs die down a bit and I look at him.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm being romantic with you."

I try to climb on top of him and we start rolling down a small hill, altering positions with each other. At the bottom of the hill, he still ends up on top of me.

"Not fair!" I say in protest.

"Oh, it's very fair."

He smirks and brings his face closer to mine. I let my eyelids close and momentarily feel his soft lips connect with my own. I wrap my arms around him as he deepens the kiss, holding me tight.

"Gosh I love you," he breathes before kissing me passionately.

The wind picks up around us as time goes by. I'm not sure how much time has passed, maybe over two hours. Just the two of us oblivious to everything else but each other.

Michael finally pulls away from me and I stroke his face lovingly. He sits up and sighs.

"Time to go?"

"Sadly," I say as I get up from the green pastures.

Michael sweeps me off his feet and starts kissing me again. I laugh softly.

"I could do this all day." He says.

"You basically did," I answer.

"Noo, there's still a couple more hours in the day.."

He bites his lip and I instantly know where he's going with it. He lays me down again and here we are, still kissing each other, never having enough.

After some time I hear a rustle in the trees. I get frightened and lightly try to push Michael off of me, but he doesn't budge.

"Michael," I say.

"Hmm?" He pulls away with a little smack, the sound our lips make together.

"I think there's something in the woods," I reply. He climbs off of me and I sit up, holding his hand tightly.

"Do you want me to check it out?" He asks.

"No! You don't have to. Let's just go home and continue this," I say.

"Sweetheart there's no need to be scared. I'm curious anyway."

He lets go of my hand and starts inching his way toward the rustling bush. My heart is beating fast and I'm hoping it's nothing too dangerous.

Something jumps out of the bush and I scream loudly, falling back and tumbling over myself. Then I capture it's two long ears, whiskers, and fluffy tail.

"Alondra, it was just a bunny!" Michael is cracking up over at the bush, rolling around in the grass and beating the ground.

"Don't laugh! I was really scared!" I say, getting up to walk toward him.

He exhales and starts laughing again. I let a laugh escape my mouth and pull him up, dragging him to the car. In admittance, that was quite silly of me.

We get in the car and after a while Michael finally stops laughing.

"Even if it was dangerous, I wouldn't let it hurt you." He says.

I smile and give him a kiss on the cheek. Then I realize that my purse is missing.

"Hey Michael, can I go back? I think I left my purse at the park."

"Sure," he says. I quickly run out and spot my purse resting at the bottom of the tree Michael and I climbed.

I reach down and grab it and then I see a woman at one of the tables.

"Good evening," I say politely.

"Same to you. Wait a moment, please." She says.

I stop in my tracks and go back to her. "Yes?"

"Have you ever been interested in modeling?" She asks.

"Not really. I haven't thought about it." I say.

"Well when you do, give me a call. I think you'll make a great model," She gives me a card and a smile.

"Okay, thank you," I take it and return the smile before walking back to the limo.

I think that it's random for me to do modeling. I've never been impossibly pretty and I didn't even think I was tall enough. I just focus on getting back to Michael.

"Got it?" Michael asks. I nod and clip on my seatbelt.

"Now, where were we?" I look at him and wrap my arms around his neck.

"I know where," he says softly before a kiss begins again for the countless time that day.

It gets more passionate as he deepens the kiss, titling his head down.

"Baby," I murmur against his lips. He lifts his head up and raises an eyebrow at me.

"Baby? You've never called me that before." He says.

"Well, should I?"

"Yes, I love it. When you said that my heart stopped," he whispers.

I blush lightly as he kisses me again, and again, and again.
