Chapter 20- Be Mine

Chapter 20

After some time, I get off of Michael and walk to the bedroom and into my closet, pulling out a school bag that Michael bought for me. I stuff it with school books needed for tomorrow. Then, I look around for what I'll wear tomorrow.

I decide on dark wash capris with a blue and grey plaid shirt with a collar and sleeves rolled up. Then, I pull out a pair of navy blue flats.

"That'll look great on you," I hear Michael's voice behind me and jump. I didn't even know when he came in.

"You scared me," I say.

"Not my intention." He walks closer to me and sits down where I was still kneeling on the carpet. He taps his thighs, beckoning me to sit on his lap. I sigh and do as I'm told.

"I'm sorry I'm not of that much help, I didn't go to college," he says. I turn to look at him.

"Well, that's because you didn't have a choice." I reply.

"Yeah. I wish I did though," he says. I nod and he turns me around, pulling me even more toward him.

"I'm filming tomorrow, so Kristen and James will pick you up," he says.

"Oh, don't tell me this whole college thing will reduce the time we spend together," I whine.

He laughs and rolls over. Both of us are now laying on our stomachs. I squirm closer to him and kiss his ear.

"It won't. I promise you that," he says.

"Well, help me get ready. How should I do my hair?"

I pull it back into a ponytail, but Michael shakes his head. I tie it into a bun, still Michael doesn't like it. We go through at least six different hair styles until I sigh and put it in a ponytail again.

"Perfect," he says. My mouth hangs agape.

"That was the very first one I tried Michael," I say.

"It was? Oops." He does a silly face and I start to laugh. Suddenly the doorbell rings.

"You'll get it," I say, still giggling.

"Lazy girl, aren't you?" He gives a wink before getting up and walking out of the closet. I decide to follow after him.

He opens the door and Karen Faye appears.

"Hey Karen," they exchange a hug before she then greets me. Michael sounded a little unsure and confused.

"Sorry, I didn't tell you guys that I was dropping in," She apologizes quickly.

I wonder why she's here. Michael and I should be spending the rest of the day together.

"That's alright. Did you, need anything?" I ask. Michael shoots me a look and I inch back, feeling bad that I want her to leave so much.

"Actually, I was wondering if I could spend some time with both of you." She says before clearing her throat.

I'm about to open my mouth and answer when Michael grabs my hand tightly, instead causing me to gasp.

He smiles at Karen and says, "Sure! We could really use some extra company."

"Great!" She walks farther into the home and Michael pulls me back to him.

"Listen, please be nice? Any friend of mine is a friend of yours, okay?" He whispers in my ear.

I roll my eyes and start to storm away, but he pulls me back again.

"What?" I growl.

"I love you Alondra," he says with a smile. My heart can't help but race.

"Okay," I reply.

"Say you love me too." He wraps his arm around me and nuzzles his soft lips in my neck. He starts to kiss my neck, and I let out a soft moan.

"Tell me or I won't stop," He says in between kisses. I struggle to sigh.

"I love you too," I say before pushing him away. He takes my hand again.

"You know it's true." We make our way to where Karen is.

"So, what's up with you?" Michael asks, sitting by her on the couch. I decide to take a seat on the other.

She shrugs her shoulders and smiles. "Nothing really, working with some models for shoots once in a while, and you of course," she giggles.

"Well, that's good. Anything you'd like to do?" Asks Michael.

"How about a movie?" She suggests a little too quickly.

"Sure. Alondra, can you get us snacks?"

I get up and walk into the kitchen, angrily throwing chips into a bowl, crushing a few of them. I storm back in and they're laughing together. What could possibly be so funny? The movie hasn't even started. I bet she's just flirting, giggling at every of his silly jokes.

I hand him the bowl and go sit back down, pulling my knees up to my body and letting my hair hide me like a curtain. Soon, I hear my name.

"Alondra?" Michael says. I hold my head up and look at him. He has a small smile on his face.

"What?"

"You're missing the movie. It's Aladdin," he says.

"It's okay, I've seen it before." I reply. He sighs and goes back to talking to Karen. I try not to sulk as he puts her arm around her.

Soon, to my relief, the movie is finally over.

"That was so fun! Thank you guys for letting me stay," Karen says.

We say goodbye and then she's gone. I look up at the clock and it's 8:07.

"Come here," Michael requests, and I comply. He takes me and kisses my hair.

"Someone's been jealous tonight," he says as we walk up the stairs to our bedroom.

"Jealous? Certainly not me then." I say to him.

"I don't believe you.." He chirps.

"You don't have to. I'm telling the truth," I say.

"Why are you getting defensive then?" He says, biting his lip. I sigh loudly.

"Michael, sometimes you make me want to rip my hair out."

"Don't! Actually, it wouldn't matter. You'd still look beautiful."

I roll my eyes while blushing and walk into my closet, stripping off my daytime clothes and putting on a tank top with baggy shorts. I pull out the hair tie just a little bit to give myself a loose ponytail.

I come out and join Michael in the bed, and we lay there in silence for a while. The events of today replay in my head.

"You know, Aladdin's story is kind if like ours." Michael says, breaking the silence.

"How is that?" I ask while looking up at the ceiling.

"Well, Aladdin was poor. Jasmine overlooked that and loved him for who he was. Ours is just in reverse." He explains. I ponder the thought and Michael places his hand on top of mine.

"Yeah, I guess that's true." I reply. He nods his head.

"Will you be mine?" He asks. I furrow my eyebrows, acting clueless.

"Be your what?" I ask. He groans and sinks into the bed.

"You are so not making this easy," he says. I giggle and finally turn to him, smirking.

"I'll never make your life easy, there's no fun in that," I say. He takes a deep breath then exhales.

"Will you be my girl?" He finally questions. My eyes widen.

"I've been waiting for you to ask that." I whisper.

"Well, what's the answer?" He says nervously.

"Of course." I say softly. He grins and searches my brown eyes before he gives me a sweet kiss.

"I can't believe you said yes." He murmurs.

"Well believe it. I can't believe I'm dating the only perfect man in the world," I say before squeezing his cheek.

"Oh stop it Alondra!" He laughs. I shrug innocently and pull the covers up.

"Go to bed Michael," I whisper before closing my eyes.

"I can't."

"Why?" I ask, opening them again.

"Because my life is finally complete."
