5) The Fifth Number
Emmalyn's head hurt when she went through the portal. She couldn't even open her eyes when she arrived on the other side. All she could tell about the new place was that it was much hotter than where she had just been, but she didn't feel sunlight causing it. The guy kept carrying her, knowing she was still recovering, and finding it much easier over dragging her. He just hovered for a bit until landing at the entrance to a massive Nether Brick castle. Lava filled the mote he just flew over.
The doors slowly swung open when the castle's master arrived. Several pigmen ran over and offered him his crown and a place to rest. But he declined those offers and walked his way to his room. The room doors opened into the unlit place where the queen was just then woken up. Emmalyn liked the cool interior of the castle. It was far from the smoldering temperatures outside. But her head was still aching and she wondered if the world was spinning around her, or if she was the one spinning.
"Is that her?" The queen asked, her drousyness no longer existant. She had sandy blond hair and bright green eyes like emeralds.
"Indeed." The king stated with zero emotion. He seemed a little drained after that long night. "She is still recovering from her first time teleporting so let her have some time to recover. Emmalyn was then plopped on the bed and the king left to go eat or something. Meanwhile the queen sat on the edge of the bed and just examined the teen as she rubbed her forehead and tried processing everything.
"So. I guess you are my step daughter then.. I gotta say you look more like your father than I expected." Then Emmalyn felt the lady grasping a strand of her long hair and holding it gently. "Heh, you even have his soft hair." She stated.
"Who the heck are you even talking about lady?" Emmalyn growled.
"You, and your father, the one who just carried you in here. Silly!" The queen chuckled. Emmalyn just groaned and rolled over on the bed. Away from the person trying to have conversation with her. "Who was your mother again? Some lady named.. Alex, was it?" The queen asked. But she got no response. "Well, Hero had told me before we were even married about her, but, apparently he hadn't told me everything."
"Can you please just stop talking and tell me when this dream is over and when to wake up?!" Emmalyn groaned.
"Awww, sweetie. But you aren't dreaming. This is the real world. Now would your head be hurting if you were dreaming? No, it wouldn't. Now sit up young lady and answer some of my questions for once!" The queen then demanded. Emmalyn rose with a groan and looked the lady in the eyes. The poor girl looked like she could pass out any minute. It probably wasn't until then that she realized how tired she was. "Now, what is your name young lady?" The queen asked sweetly.
"Emmalyn." Emmalyn yawned.
"Why that is a lovely name. My name is Emery. But you dearie can call me Mother."
"Mother?! Listen lady, but I only have one mother!" Emmalyn snapped.
"Not in this case you don't!" Emery frowned. It would be a while before the queen finally drove the truth through her step daughter's thick skull. "Let me tell you this plain and simple. Your father is not Steve. Steve is your step father, same as I am your step mother. Now your real parents are your Mother Alex and your father, Hero." Emery lectured.
"Pfff! What kind of a name is Hero?!" Emmalyn scoffed.
"Hero is simply a shortened version of his full name: Herobrine. Everyone but family calls him Herobrine, and you missie, can call him Dad." Emery.
"No! I don't call him anything! And I don't want to! Because I'm leaving!" Then Emmalyn mustered the strength to jump up and run to the bedroom doors. She quickly swung one open. It swung outwards, hitting someone in the face and knocking them over. Emmalyn ran out and only glanced at who the door had hit. When she looked back she saw Herobrine himself getting up and brushing himself off.
"Hero. Your daughter is escaping." Emery said with no emotion as she stepped out the door.
"Hhhhh!. She not believe you either?" Hero asked.
"Not entirely, but I think she is starting to grasp the idea. Maybe if we let her talk to Alex and Steve?-" Emery suggested.
"-No. They would just fill her head with more lies. It's better that she learn now. Plus, if she barged in asking all these questions about me they would for sure know where to look when I went to get her again." Was his answer. Then in a moment he teleported out of sight and back in just a few seconds holding Emmalyn's left arm firmly, making her little run pointless.
"Let, go of me!! I am not your daughter! You must have me confused with someone else!" Emmalyn screamed in Hero's grasp.
"You want me to do a DNA test or something?!" Herobrine growled in annoyance.
"Yes! Actually! That way we can prove you are WRONG!" Emmalyn answered with another loud shout.
"..Mommy?.. Daddy?.." A drowsy little girl with light brown hair and blue eyes walked up to the commotion rubbing her eyes, dragging a soft blanket behind her. Everyone stopped to look at the little girl. Emmalyn looked the most surprised out of the three.
"Yes sweetheart?" Emery knelt down and answered in a kind but acted tone. It was obvious to almost everyone that she was a little stressed about the newcomer. The little girl being the only one who couldn't tell.
"Why is Daddy shouting?" The little girl asked. Then everyone's attention was turned to Hero and Emmalyn. He didn't dare let go of his oldest, fearing she might run off again.
"Oh, we'll talk about that in the morning. Now you go off to bed." Emery hinted for her daughter to leave. But the little girl just looked over her mommy's shoulder at Emmalyn, who was looking back still a little shocked.
"Daddy, is that my big sister?" The little girl turned her full attention to Herobrine with innocence filling her eyes. Everyone was surprised by her accurate guess.
"H- how did you know Adaline?" Hero asked.
"I heard you and Mommy talking through the door." The little girl dropped her bashful head. Emery and Hero just looked at eachother with amusement on their faces.
"Well, yes.. Adaline. Meet your half sister, Emmalyn." Herobrine introduced. The two said a quiet hi at the same time before looking at the floor. They both seemed a little awkward in the moment.
"Heh, half sister? Well this is new information." A teenage boy with light blond hair and dark green eyes walked into existence with a little smile on his face that made it seem like the situation was normal.
"Kalarīa? You too? Can you two please just go to bed?" Emery rubbed her tired face as she asked.
"Alright, but I'm telling Michael." Kalarīa smiled. "Come on Adaline." He took the little girl's hand and lead her down the hall and out of view. Then Emmalyn turned to the two others still remaining.
"How many kids do you have?" She asked inquisitively. Hero face-palmed in annoyance.
"Five. You happy?!" He groaned.
"Would that be including me oorrr-"
"Discluding." Herobrine groaned.
"Is that even a word?" Emmalyn asked with a joking look.
"Just go to sleep." It was obvious Hero no longer wanted to talk or even stay awake.
"Um. I don't have a bed." Emmalyn pointed out. "Maybe if you let me go, I could-"
"Not an option. You can sleep on the couch in our room." Hero said.
"You have a couch in your room?!" Emmalyn looked surprised.
"Yeah, why so surprised?"
---5 mins later---
"Um, is this child endangerment? I am sure you could get in trouble for this." Emmalyn said from the cough, which she was chained to. She couldn't even roll over.
"I don't want you escaping. Now go to sleep." Hero said from his bed in a sitting up position. Then he flopped backwards and fell asleep almost the moment his head hit the pillow. A few quiet moments passed before Emmalyn started wiggling in the chains. They rattled every time she made a harsh movement. Maybe if she made enough noise they would get her out. Or maybe Herobrine would just put her in a cage or something. Maybe even the dungeon, if he had one.
Finally Emmalyn was just annoying herself at that point and just decided to fall asleep. She too fell asleep in less than a minute.

Oh, the updates are getting slower you say? Well that's totally because I am putting my heart and soul into writing and editing this, and totally not just because I am forgetting to press publish on something I wrote like two months ago.. I would never do that. :>
