Chapter 3

I changed out of my robes into some lose clothes as to not restrict movement. (Perverts)

As the Death Eaters streamed onto the grounds, Flitwick moved the group downstairs to have more room to fight. Ten minutes later, I was fighting a woman who was very pretty except for the snarl on her face.

I was casting shield charms and firing every curse I know at her. The scream of a middle aged man filled the air and the woman turned her head temporary distracted. Taking advantage of this, I cats the full-body bind curse and went to go help a Hufflepuff girl with Mulciber.

I fought for nearly an hour, running on pure adrenaline. I took down Mulciber with a stunning curse, Avery by transfiguring him, a young man the others called Stan by disarming him and Neville left him to the Venomous Tantacula, and woman I don't know the name with a blast that slammed her against the wall.

I was fighting Thickness, the Minister of Magic, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye; Harry, Ron, and Hermione running towards the staircase that leads to the seventh floor. But I was not the only one who noticed.

A Death Eater was aiming his wand at Hermione. I stunned him and Thickness took advantage of that, I suppose, because the next moment, I felt a pain in my abdomen as if an invisible knife had cut through me.

The next thing I knew, a figure was kneeling over me, though I don't remember ever falling to the floor. It was Caleb. He was gripping my hand and he spoke in a trembling voice, "Come on, Nat, stay with me here. Focus on the sound of my voice. I'm going to get you to Madam Pomfrey, you'll be fine..."

He continued to reassure me as he gently picked me up in his arms. I winced from the pain and tried to focus on his voice, still giving reassuring feedback.

Then world started to fade.

I heard Jade say something about not being able to hold them off.

"Come on Nat, we're almost there," I think that was Caleb.

Colors were blending together and I could not make out anything, but I could feel everything.

I felt myself being lain on a cot.

I felt two hands gripping each of mine.

I felt my shirt being peeled back to examine the wound.

I felt blood being washed away.

I felt all of my senses beginning to fading into whatever lay beyond.

I felt the gentle pull of a comforting presence.

I felt darkness consume the world and all of my senses.

Before that, however, I heard Caleb, "Come on Nat, don't leave me. Please."
