Sorrow
Agardess nervously twirled her weapons as they came upon a large hall. She was on edge and it wasn't because of the fact she knew there were Goblins somewhere in this cave, but the fact they were underground. Although the hall had towering ceilings she still felt the tons of rock above her head crushing down on top of her. Based on instincts she stuck close to Legolas, almost hugging his arm.
Suddenly Gimli wailed and raced forward, ignoring Gandalf's plead.
"No," He whispered gazing upon a white tomb. "No..." And the dwarf broke down in tears.
"'Here lies Balin, son of Fundin, Lord of Moria.'" Gandalf read from the engravings upon the face of the tomb. "He is dead then, it's as I feared." Gimli's head fell, his helmet clanking onto the stone and tears streamed down his face.
Gandalf handed his staff and hat to Pippin, who in turn backed away as the wizard approached a book. He opened it and dust fell from it, along with a few loose pages. Agardess watched the pages fall onto the ground, simply staring at them whilst thinking of death as grief.
"We must move on," Legolas said to Aragorn, Agardess heard him but he couldn't drag her from the hole that was her mind and her eyes did not move from the pages. "We cannot linger."
"They have taken the bridge and the second hall," Gandalf read, brushing dust from the old, thick book. "We have barred the gates but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes. Drums, drums in the deep. We cannot get out. A shadow moves in the dark. We cannot get out. They are coming." Agardess shuttered, but did not move her gaze from the pages, as if looking made it real.
Pippin had backed up during Gandalf's speech, hitting a skeleton. The skeleton moved, falling backwards into the well the bones were previously perched on. The skeleton was caught on a bucket which in turn fell causing crashing and banging the whole trip down the well. Everyone flinched with each loud noise and once it was silent, nobody moved. Until Gandalf.
"Fool of a Took! Throw yourself in next time and rid us of your stupidity!" Gandalf hissed, ripping his staff and hat away from the Hobbit. Pippin looked down in shame as soon as Gandalf turned away. Perhaps in another life Agardess would have comforted the Hobbit, but she too was angry at the Hobbit.
Sounds came from the well in which the skeleton had fell and relaxed hands tightened, spurring everyone back into the grips of unease.
"Frodo," Sam said his voice dripping with worry. Agardess turned and saw that the Hobbit's sword had been glowing blue. She did not know what it meant, but she sensed it was nothing good.
"Orcs," Legolas hissed turned to their ruddy and beaten group, as if saying the name would get them on their feet. Boromir raced towards the door, looking out. As he did so two arrows came flying at them, missing his face by mere centimeters. He jerked his head back and stumbled back into the room.
"Get back!" Aragorn yelled to the Hobbits. "And stay close to Gandalf!" Aragorn then rushed forward, helping Boromir close the doors.
"They have a cave troll," Boromir said, as if he were threatening fate to throw something worse at them. Legolas began tossing axes to the two men and they used them to barricade the door, although it was highly doubtful that the door would do anything really, except buy them a few seconds. They backed away from the door, Legolas already nocking an arrow on his bow. Agardess took the moment to snap into action. She turned to the door, stepping in front of Gandalf and spun her knifes around in her hands, as if taunting the Orcs, although they could not see her, to come at her.
"Let them come!" Gimli roared, stepping onto the tomb. "There is still one dwarf in Moria who still draws breath." A hole was made in the crude door and Legolas shot an arrow and judging from the squeal of pain he hit his mark. Aragorn shot one too, also hitting his mark and soon both, men and elf, we're raining arrows upon the Orcs that gathered behind the door.
The door broke and a wave of Orcs came in, spilling into the small room, but the Fellowship was ready. They rained death on the incoming creatures, trying to keep them from the Hobbit and ultimately, the Ring.
Agardess did not join right away, she waited until the Orcs came past the tomb before running forward and granting death to all who dared to try and pass. Soon after her Gandalf and the Hobbits charged, but Agardess had already gone into a battle mode, focusing all of her energy into killing. The only thing she kept her ears open for were two voices, Legolas' and Frodo's. Neither were heard and she continued slashing and whirling, aiming for the exposed throats.
She bounded towards one, crossing her knives in an X shape and decapitating the chosen Orc. She spun next, digging her knives into the chest of the Orc who thought it would be smart to come from behind.
A roar sounded and a cave troll entered, batting away the Orcs that held it by chains, it raced further into the room. Legolas shot an arrow at it, but the arrow only caused it to become more angry. Agardess, who was near the back of the room at the time, raced forward, killing any Orc that dared cross her path. She came to the troll and immediately had to duck for the troll had swung his heavy club her way and the only way for her to get out of the way was to hit the ground. She dropped and landed on the armor of a fallen Orc, it's armor digging uncomfortably into her side, causing pain.
The troll turned it's attention to Sam, who did his best to scramble out of the way. Agardess seized the chain around his neck, trying to keep the troll from crushing Sam underfoot. Aragorn grabbed onto the extra chain behind her and helped, together they caused the troll to stumble backwards and just like that the troll's ugly face had turned it's slow brain onto them. Boromir joined and the three of them caused the troll to stumble backwards unbalanced.
Aragorn and Agardess dived away from the chain, but Boromir continued to hang on. The troll yanked the chain, flinging Boromir into the chambers wall, before continuing to advance on the man and elf, as if the first man was just an annoyance. Agardess had no time to check if Boromir was okay since she was suck killing Orcs and trying to avoid a cave troll. Out of the corner of her mind she saw Aragorn throw his sword and she dropped one of her knives, drawing her broadsword.
"Aragorn!" She yelled, tossing the sword to him. He caught it, but had no time to thank her as an Orc was steadily approaching. Agardess picked up her dropped knife and flung herself back into the battle. Gimli heaved his axe at the cave troll and the troll roared in pain, forgetting about Agardess and stumbled towards Gimli. In turn Agardess took the moment to slash at the troll's legs trying to bring its attention back on her. The troll simply kicked out at her and she was clipped by the troll's foot, which threw her back into a wall.
She groaned in pain and blood began seeping from her already injured side. She stood and lunged for the Orcs who were charging her. She stabbed each knife into two different Orcs, before turning swiftly and slicing the throat of another. She saw the cave troll stumble, but couldn't do anything busy defending herself from the steady flow of Orcs, that continued to come at her. That was however until she saw the troll swinging again. This time it was at Legolas.
She felt that she needed to help him, and try she did. She sliced through the Orcs, who had previously pinned her to the corner. She rushed at the cave troll, jumping at it and sinking her knives into it's lower back. Her weight brought the blades down and they dragged through the troll's skin, it roared in pain and flung her off, giving Legolas an opportunity to jump onto its neck and shoot an arrow into the troll's ugly head.
Agardess drew her twin long swords, seeing her broadsword was with Aragorn and her knives were still lodged in the troll's back. The troll lunged at the Hobbits, causing them to scatter.
"Frodo!" Aragorn yelled and Agardess looked over to see that the troll had backed the Hobbit into a corner. She decapitated the Orc in front of her and raced towards the Hobbit. Aragorn jumped in front of the Hobbit while Agardess attacked it's legs from the back. She put her swords back on her back and jumped for her knives. She grabbed them and managed to pull one out, which she jabbed into its skin again as she work on dislodging the other one. She couldn't see what was going on in front of her.
The Hobbits hurled rocks at the trolls head and he shook, causing Agardess to fall from its back. Thankfully she fell still clutching her knives in her hands so she could launch herself back into battle without having to take time drawing new weapons. She managed to run around to the front of the troll just in time to see the troll stab Frodo in the stomach.
A scream of horror flowed through her and she turned to the troll, her eyes hard and angry. Heaving out a battle cry she attacked again. Merry and Pippin jumped onto the troll's head, stabbing it repeatedly while Agardess hacked away at it's legs. The troll brushed one of the Hobbits off, but before it could deliver a killing blow, Gandalf and Gimli lashed out, helping Agardess distract the troll from the two Hobbits. The Hobbit left on the troll stabbed his short blade into the trolls head, causing it to roar in pain. Legolas took this opportunity to shoot his arrow into its mouth.
The troll stumbled forward before falling over, dead. The Hobbit, who turned out to be Pippin, was thrown off of it and he hit the ground hard. Everyone rushed to the fallen Hobbit, gathering around him.
"I'm not hurt," Frodo insisted, sitting up a little slowly.
"That spear would of skewered a wild boar," Aragorn said in wonder, gazing at the little Hobbit.
"I think there is more to this Hobbit than meet the eye," Gandalf said walking forward and raising an eyebrow at Frodo. Frodo lifted his hands to his shift, tugging the collar down to reveal a second shirt underneath.
"Mithril," Gimli smiled at Frodo, his eyes holding awe. "You are full of surprises Master Baggins." There was a shriek from somewhere and everyone looked up, head rotating trying to find a source.
"To the bridge of Khazad-dum," Gandalf stated and the Fellowship took off running into the hall in which the originally came from.
Orcs fell behind them coming from nearly every direction. Agardess sheathed a blade in order to grab Pippin's arm and drag him along behind her. He had slowed to look behind him.
"There is no time," She hissed in his ear. "Come quickly now." She heard a screech coming from above and glanced up before quickly bringing her gaze back down, determined to keep Pippin up with the group. Orcs were climbing down from the ceiling.
Gandalf stopped, forcing everyone to stop behind him. Agardess shoved Pippin behind her and drew her other knife, facing the Orcs. She glanced around and saw that they were surrounded. Pippin gripped the fabric of her top in his hand, his breath coming in quick frightened gasps.
A roar came from the end of the hallway and the Orcs exchanged glances before scattering. Slipping into the nasty hole from where they had came. Legolas had a arrow knocked and he was constantly shifting aim, unsure of where to let his arrow fly. He soon relaxed his grip and looked upwards.
"What is this new devilry?" Boromir murmured to Gandalf.
""A Balrog — a demon of the ancient world."Gandalf opened his eyes. "This foe is beyond any of you, run!" And the Fellowship ran. Agardess sheathed both her knifes, replacing her hand on Pippin's arm before placing the other on Merry's. She pulled them along trying to keep them going, knowing in the back of her mind that they were slowing her down.
They came upon a small doorway which Gandalf ushered them through and they continued running. They raced down a flight of stairs, trying not to stumble. The stairs beneath Boromir began to crumble and Legolas lunged for him, yanking him around back to safety.
"Lead them on Aragorn," Gandalf said as he leaned into the wall for support. "The bridge is near. Do as I say!" Gandalf ordered as Aragorn tried to bring him forward. The Fellowship continued running, racing as fast as they could down the twisting flights of steps.
Boromir pulled to a halt and Legolas leaped across a gap that near the back Agardess could not see. She pushed forward, leaving Merry and Pippin behind, knowing she would be needed on the other side. She leaped across the gap just as Legolas called for Gandalf. Agardess landed daintily and she turned to the other members. Arrows began to fall from outcroppings on the walls.
"Shot them!" She yelled to Legolas, but he was already on it, Aragorn too had out a bow. Boromir grabbed Merry and Pippin under his arms, leaping the gap and Agardess caught them in a weird sort of embrace. She pushed them behind her and motioned for the next person.
"Sam," Aragorn called and tossed the Hobbit to Agardess, who in turn passed him to Boromir.
"Nobody tosses a dwarf," Gimli growled and jumped himself. He would have fallen from the edge if Legolas handed leaned forward and grasped his beard. Agardess wrapped her arms around Legolas' waist, pulling them both backwards.
The stairs crumbled away and Aragorn tossed Frodo to the more stable part pulling himself up after. The gap was larger now. Rock fell landing on the stairs from where they had just come, causing the part that Aragorn and Frodo were standing on to become unbalanced. Agardess watched in horror for she could do nothing.
"Lean forward!" Aragorn ordered and they both did so, tipping the balance of the rock and causing it to shift forward, towards where the rest of the Fellowship was standing. The rock collided and man and Hobbit were thrown forward to be caught by Agardess and Legolas who were standing up front. They sprinted off again, keeping the Hobbits towards the middle of the group.
The Balrog managed to catch up with them and was nearly upon them as they cross the tiny bridge. Gandalf, the last to cross, stood in the middle of the bridge, turning to the monster.
"You cannot pass!" He cried to the monster, standing his group. The Fellowship stopped, turning in horror to watch the battle unfold, knowing that they could not help.
"Gandalf!" Frodo yelled.
Gandalf was surrounded by a sort of while hue, he was murmuring words under his breath but Agardess couldn't make out the words he was saying. The Balrog, brandished his sword and snorted moving forward closer to Gandalf. He tried to kill the wizard, but the white hue dissolved his sword, causing it to become angrier. The beast took another step forward, whatever Gandalf had said to him did not seem to faze him. Somewhere the beast pulled a whip and was now moving it around in circles ready to strike.
"You shall not pass!" Gandalf bellowed, stabbing his staff into the ground. The beast backed up a few steps as white escaped from the end of the staff that had collided with the ground. The beast lunged forward, but the bridge under him collapsed causing him to fall to a fiery doom, but before he could fall completely his whip wrapped around Gandalf's ankle, pulling him to the ledge.
Frodo tried to run to the wizard, but Boromir pulled him back.
"Gandalf!" Frodo cried struggling against the man's arms.
"Fly you fools." Gandalf let go of the ledge, falling into darkness.
"No!" Frodo screamed. Boromir picks up the still screaming Frodo, calling for Aragorn as they made their leave.

The Hobbits fell to the rocks when they finally made it out of Moria. Agardess did too, but for other reasons than grief. She pressed her hand to her side, her hand coming back bloody. It was only then when the pain set in. She replaced her hand, trying to stop the blood she knew was leaking from the wound and gritted her teeth in pain.
