Chapter 97
As we were almost out of the hospital, Mike stopped us at the front desk. He looked worse than in the room when we were together. "The Baby." he quietly said. "We're not gonna hurt you alone as you leave the baby alone." Dean calmly said. "Amara," Mike said, his voice getting weaker. "Huh?" I said, while Dean also answered, confused. "Her name is Amara," Mike said before falling, and when I felt his pulse, I noticed he was dead. We exited the hospital and drove to a gas station where Dean tanked while I waited, stretching my legs and thinking what Sam was doing.
Dean walked over to me on the phone with somebody. "Yeah, we're about 40 miles outside of town. Kaylee is a bit shakey, but as far as we can see, it's Isolated to superior." Dean said as he reached me. "Are you okay? What about you?" Dean asked something. "Yeah, here he wants to talk to you." Dean passed me the phone. "Sammy, are you okay?" I asked, worried. "Yeah, im okay." his voice sounded tired and sad. "Sam, please be careful," I whispered before returning the phone to Dean when Jenna came out of the toilet with the baby, so I went inside, used the toilet, washed my hands, and splashed some water on my face before walking back out. In a little farm area, we stopped at a house and got out of the car; Jenna and Dean walked to the house while I waited outside. Dean walked Jenna and Amara to the house when an older woman came out and greeted Jenna while Dean walked back to me. "Im worried about Sam," I said honestly. "Yeah, me too; come on, let's get back to the hospital," Dean replied. I nodded and got into my car, reversing out of the driveway. While we drove, I tried to reach Sam, but he didn't answer the phone. All of a sudden, Dean stopped in the middle of the road. "What the hell?" I asked out loud when Dean made a U-turn. So I followed him back to Jenna's house. "What happened?" I asked him when he got out of the car running behind him. "I don't know. I asked Sam, but he had no idea. Maybe she's possessed," Dean said when we met with Jenna. "Where is the kid," Dean asked while we walked. "We have another problem," Jenna said. She sounded worried. "Figured," I mumbled behind them. Dean looked at me weirdly. "I tried to stop them, but my grandmother called her priest, who sent over an exorcist," Jenna said, ignoring my tone. "Really?" Dean and I said at the same time.
"Yeah." We walked up the stairs on the porch and entered the house. When we walked into the living room, I stopped in my tracks—on the couch sat Crowley with a tea mug in his hand, peacefully drinking tea with Jenna's grandmother. I was fuming inside but kept my facade. He greeted us as if it was nothing, and of course, Jenna asked questions until Dean asked to speak with him outside, so Dean, Crowley, and I went outside. "Are you kidding me? What the hell are you doing here?" I hissed just as the door closed behind us. "Are you for real mad at me, Sister?" he asked in a low voice. "Yes, because you have no business here." I snapped when Dean moved me back, getting between us. "Alright, enough of the sibling drama. I already have to deal with her and Sam bumping heads." Dean grumbled, annoyed. "Screw you." I snapped behind him.
"Im doing the case just like you two. I have sources in the catholic church helping them out when a demon possession they call me." he lightly shrugged his shoulders. I moved to the side to see Crowley. "You think it's a demon in the kid?" I asked, curious. Not even a little bit. I can feel the power radiating from the house." Crowley nodded his head to the house behind him. Suddenly, we heard screams from inside, and somebody yelled at Jenna, which scared me. Dean and I ran into the house looking for Jenna. Dean called her name, but there was no answer. We ran upstairs toward the baby's room, where she played with a ball. I realized that something was wrong, but it was Crowley who spoke out what I thought. "She doesn't have a soul, fascinating," he said. Dean tried to get Jenna to come with him so we could get this issue fixed, but Crowley suddenly snapped his fingers, killing Jenna. "What the hell?" I snapped at him. "I was getting bored," Crowley argued back. "You killed her." Dean snapped at Crowley, and I didn't even try to stop him, who walked out of the room while Dean and I followed him. After some bickering with Crowley, Dean had something on his mind that revealed there might be a chance that Amara was the Darkness. "So what, you gonna kill her?" he asked. "we have to," I answered before Dean could. Crowley teased Dean for being unable to kill Amara when he could, adding he would get her whatever Dean, Sam, and I tried to stop him. "Just shut the hell up." I snapped, walking over to my car with Dean behind me. As we reached the hospital, I saw Sam walking out; I ran over to him, hugging him tight. "Easy Kee." Sam tried to move me away, but I held on to him. "What happened?" I asked him. "I found something curing whatever affected the infected ones," Sam replied. Dean and Sam hugged briefly before heading to the cars. Sam got into the car with me, and we talked about what happened on the way back to the bunker. I told Sam how I felt seeing him left behind while getting closer to the darkness. "Crowley killed Jenna?" Sam asked. "We think Amara eats souls," explaining to Sam that Jenna was like him Soulless. "Where is she now, you think?" Sam asked.
