Chapter 80
I placed the plate down. "Alright, but I'll leave it here if you're hungry." I walked away when I heard the scratching of the plate. When I turned to the side, I saw the empty plate. With a smile, I walked back into the kitchen to eat since I didn't want to disturb Kevin; when I returned to see if he was okay, I heard him on the phone with Dean, but I didn't say anything, just listened to what they said. After the phone call, Kevin packed up his stuff and walked out.
I tried to talk him out of this, but he ignored me and walked out when, suddenly, alarms went off in the Bunker; Kevin and I ran out. It was dark, but we saw the angels fall from the sky. "What the hell?"
I asked. We watched until I noticed Kevin disappeared; when I returned inside, I saw one of the doors open and Kevin inside. "Don't tell Sam or Dean im leaving," I told him, and with that, I walked out of his room and into my room, where I packed a bag and walked out while Kevin was nowhere to be found. I stayed for a while in a Motel. Dean sometimes tried to contact me, but I never picked up the phone; I was still mad at him for what he did to Kevin until I received a phone call from a hospital that my brother was unconscious and on the verge of dying. "Is my brother with him?" I asked. "Yes, he asked me to contact you." The lady told him. "Tell my brother: Dick move to get the hospital involved."
With that, I hung up, fuming about what Dean had done. Only a few weeks later, I learned that Kevin was dead; Sam's body got possessed by the angel Gadreel, who, out of rage, killed the poor kid who tried to stop him. It was Sam who called me wanting to meet up. "Why? Where is Dean?" I asked. "He's with your brother," Sam told me, and I looked confused. "I don't understand, Sam," I said. "Im gonna explain when we meet," Sam said and named a restaurant, so I drove there. As I entered, I saw Sam waiting for me. "How are you doing?" I asked, but Sam didn't answer.
I leaned forward closer to Sam. "Can you tell me what happened after we saw each other last?" I asked quietly, but he just looked at me sternly. "How couldn't you know that you had a half-brother?" he asked me, ignoring my question. "Because I didn't know." I snapped back but immediately lowered my voice even more. "You wanna tell me what the hell is going on?" I asked in a hushed voice. So you didn't know that Crowley is your half-brother?" he asked; that shocked me. I opened my mouth to speak but was too stunned to say anything. "What? No, that can't be! I don't even know who my mother is." I panicked. "He told me that both of you are related. Before, I almost killed him but didn't do it. I didn't kill him." Sam told me. "Sammy, he's wrong, okay? He can't be my half-brother, and if I don't want him to be, he can stay in hell." I growled. "Kee, come home, please. I need you. We have a case, and I need your help," Sam told me. I thought for a few seconds. "Don't look at me like that; every time you want something, you look at me with those eyes," I said. "Fine, im coming home," I grumbled, giving in Sam's plea. "Does Dean know?" I asked while we drove to my motel. "No, I haven't told him; I might leave it between us for a while until we-." Sam stopped. I knew something had happened, and it was terrible, awful. "What happened?" I asked after I got my bag from the motel, but it was entirely out. "Kee-." Sam tried to tell me off, but I raised my hand. "Just tell me if he's dead or what exactly happened?" I grumbled. After some back and forth, Sam told me how Dean and Crowley went after Cain, who passed the mark, making him incredibly strong over Dean. "So we have to get rid of it?" I asked, glancing over to my brother. "Yes, but nothing yet," Sam said when his phone rang. "What's up?" he said before quickly putting it on speaker. "Where are you?" I heard Dean's voice. "Im in Iowa. I just picked up Kaylee," Sam replied. "Can she hear me?" Dean asked. "Yes, Dean, I can hear you; how are you?" I said, leaning over just a little bit. "You've been to Iowa the whole time? Why?" Dean asked. "Why not? Plus, while you and Sam were busy, I was also busy," I said, looking forward on the street before me. "You were?" Dean asked. I could see Sam looking at me, confused. "Yeah, I worked a couple smaller jobs with Garth, but don't worry, dearest brother, I was only doing the research." I fake smiled before turning around a street corner and pressing down the gas pedal. "Oh great, and you didn't reach out to us?" Dean growled. "Nope, and you know why," I said over the engine's noise. "Come on, we talked about this; hey, uh, Dean, we have a case in Stillwater, Minnesota," Sam said first to me and then into the phone. "You heading there right now?" Dean asked. "Yeah, but we are still close to Des Moines. We can wait for you." I quickly said as we passed a sign welcoming us in Des Moines. "Rufus has a cabin here somewhere," Sam said, who had his map out where a few cabins were. "Im on my way." Dean hung up, and Sam guided me out of the city and into the forest where Rufus' old cabin was.
