Chapter 79

I raised my hand towards his chest. "Sam, it's not your fault," I said, touching his chest. "It doesn't matter anymore. Because these trials are purifying me." Sam said, walking down the hallway and still holding on to me. At the door, Sam stopped looking around. "There were boxes with books, but they're gone," Sam said in a panic. Dean pushed the door open to the room; inside were thousands of books; when we turned around a corner, we saw a man aiming a rifle at us.

It was an older man. "Who are you?" he asked. "Metatron? that's Metatron." Dean asked Sam, who was behind me, as I turned to look at Sam. I saw Metatron behind us. "You two sit down," Metatron demanded before turning to me; suddenly, I was back in Sam and Deans's room, which confused me, but when I tried to leave, I was in front of a locked door. "What the hell?" I asked, trying to open the door. I waited until the door opened, and Sam, Dean, and Kevin walked in. "Kev, Kev, what happened?" I asked, placing my hands on his shoulders. "No time we're leaving. Can the kid ride with you," Dean asked while we walked to my room, where I grabbed my stuff and threw them into my bag. "Yeah, sure."

I took Kevin with me to my car. While we drove, I didn't ask Kevin much. If he wanted to tell me where he was, he would. I wouldn't pressure him; while driving, I only thought of what Sam and Dean discussed with Metatron. Suddenly, I slammed the brakes since the Impala in front of me stopped. Suddenly, I quickly got out of the car. "Wait here," I told Kevin, who was wide awake after my sudden stop. When I got out of the car, I saw the figure in front of the Impala, it was Cas. "Oh my god, what happened?"

I asked, walking over to Sam, Dean, and Cas. "You stay with the kid anywhere he's going. You're right by him. We need to find out the last trial." Dean said, with a scoff, I walked back to the car. At the same time, he was driving to one of the remote cabins where, hopefully, no demon couldn't find us.

We stayed there for a few weeks until Kevin needed to see what the other half of the demon tablet had hidden. In the middle of the night, he disappeared. When I noticed the following day, I frantically tried to find him and finally did while Kevin dug it up. "You can't just leave like that, Kev," I told him, but he ignored me, so I helped him until Sam and Dean drove up to us. I haven't said to them that Kevin disappeared. I stayed with Kevin while Sam and Dean drove to Sioux Falls. Kevin and I waited before heading to the Bunker since it wasn't safe in the cabin. "Don't worry, Kev. The Bunker is protected, and no Demon can get in." I told him it took us a few hours while I drove, but I was happy to return home when we arrived. I have Kevin a quick tour before heading for a refreshing shower. "Don't run off, please. I won't take long; maybe take a nap. You look like you need one." I smacked him on the shoulder, leaving the room I left him in and closing the door behind me. After I had taken a shower, I walked into the room; Kevin was still sitting where I had left him. "You okay, bud?"

I asked when I heard Sam and Dean walk into the Bunker. Kevin and I walked into the library, where Sam, Dean, and Cas waited. We all sat down, and Sam showed us a new tablet. "What's that?" I asked, but Cas answered before Sam or Dean could. "That's an angel tablet," he said. "That's a joke?" Kevin said. "No, it's the word of god," Cas said sternly. I chuckled when Kevin looked at Cas and me. "What?" he asked. "It's a tablet, translate. That's what you do." Dean said with a nod. "Okay, but I needed six months and a dead mom to translate the other tablet. How do you want me to translate this one in six hours?" he asked, pouring some alcohol into a glass before sitting back down. "You told me I was out, Dean," Kevin said to Dean, sitting on the other side of the table. Dean tried to say something, but Kevin interrupted him. "Save it if you wanted to say something like "you never out" crap." Suddenly, Cas yanked Kevin up, making his glass fall. "Cas." I snapped, getting up from my seat.

"Kee, don't," Sam said behind me, but I walked over to Kevin and placed my hand on his arm. "Put him down." I tried without force, but Cas ignored me. "Dean, right," Cas said, pulling Kevin closer, ignoring me. "There is no out-only Duty," Cas growled. "Stop if he wants to be out, then let him," I screamed when Dean pulled me away; out of the corner of my eye, I saw that Kevin got himself out of Cas's grip. I pulled myself away and walked into my room, where I listened to music and looked at old pictures when we were younger, plus the ones I had on my nightstand.

I couldn't understand why Sam and Dean would get Kevin to translate the angel tablet when he didn't want to, breaking their promise. After a while, I walked out of the room, finding Kevin deep in translation, so I let him in and went into the kitchen to make some food for us. "You need to eat, bud," I told him, passing him the plate with scrambled egg and Toast. "Can't I want to finish that as soon as possible," he replied without looking up.
