Chapter 61

Benny held my hand the whole time while we drove to the shipyard. Dean arrived around three minutes after us. Seeing us standing close next to each other made him stop for a second, but when I walked over to the car, he relaxed. Dean and I grabbed Machetes out of the trunk, he and Benny made some joke about how to proceed, Dean called his question "healthy skepticism." I only rolled my eyes at his words. Dean went inside the shed first, with Benny and me following behind him. Benny and I separated from Dean, walking around one side of the shed near the pear. Just as we reached the end, I felt a tap on my shoulder, turning my head to see Benny motion to something in front of me. When I turned my head back, I heard fighting noises. I gave Benny a nod, walking towards where the fight was, with Benny securing my back. As I rounded a corner, I saw Dean struggling on the floor with a vampire on top of him. Benny came flying from behind me and decapitated him; just as I walked up, the head rolled over the ground. "Son of a... It took you long enough." Dean grumbled. I held out my hand to pull him to his feet. "Dean."

I only said his name, and Dean knew what I wanted to say. "Yeah, yeah, I know." Just then, I saw the blood on his neck. "What happened?" I searched through my pockets and found a napkin, which I pressed against his neck, feeling something weird behind me. Turning, I saw Benny stiffening up. "Benny." I only had to say his name, but I knew it was the blood. Dean and I walked outside following Benny to the cars, where I cleaned the wound and put a plaster on the neck. "It's just a little cut," I told him with a light side eye towards Benny. We drove to the Cafe where I had my car, leaving the boys to talk, while packing up the few things I had, leaving the keys with my landlord, who understood why I had to leave, heading back to the cafe where I saw Dean and Benny still talking. I had a tear in my eye when Benny walked over. "I had a great time with you," I whispered, seeing Benny smiling down. "Take care of your brother, hun," he whispered before kissing me softly on my lips while I held onto his jacket he had on. "You be careful, Benny, and keep your nose clean," I told him. He smiled, hugged Dean before we got into the cars, driving off when Dean told me over the phone that Sam was in Texas, adding that he lured him away from Benny with a text. "That was a dick move, Brother," I argued. "I had to get him off Benny," Dean growled. Dean drove to Rufus's Cabin while I went to Oklahoma, for a while refusing to see my brother after what he did. Dean called me a few days later, telling me Cas was back from Purgatory and Sam and he were talking now being back together, hunting, although Cas and he wanted to go on a rescue mission to save another Angel. "That sounds like a trap." My voice was suspicious. "You're not coming?" Dean asked, and I immediately shook my head. "No," I replied to his question, sensing his disappointment. But just a day later, I made my way from Oklahoma to Montana, where Rufus's Cabin was. As I arrived, I didn't see the Impala, which meant they were still on the rescue mission. Since I didn't know how long they would be gone, I slept a lot and read a few books until Sam and Dean arrived. I got nervous since it had been over three weeks since Dean told me he'd returned from Purgatory. I awkwardly sat on the couch with Dean while Sam sprayed an Enochian symbol on the door to protect us from angels. I still had no idea, so Dean finally told me while Sam got us some beer from the kitchen. "Cas has changed since he came back from Purgatory." Dean ended. "So, what, you think someone's messing with him?"

I asked when Sam passed me a beer. "Who?" Dean asked, but before I answered, Sam did. "Angels," he suggested. "Why would the angels have him kill another angel?" Dean asked, and I was also confused as to why this happened. "That poor kid, he seemed like a nice kid," I mumbled more to myself. Sam left a while later to clear his head, while Dean and I stayed behind. Since we were running out of beer, I went out to buy more; when I returned, Sam and Dean were drinking the last beers, watching a boxing match, while I placed the new bottles into the fridge. Dean and I went on a spontaneous walk, which was his Idea since he wanted to talk to me without Sam telling me what happened while he was in Purgatory after trying to rescue Kevin. "I can't believe Crowley tried to do that?" I said while we walked through the forest. "We have him safe, and he's figuring the tablet out," Dean told me; for a while, it was quiet. "You heard from Benny?" I asked to kill the silence between us. "We talked on the phone yesterday, and he's okay." Dean looked irritated, so I dropped the topic, thankful he was okay. Sam and Dean had a job which I wouldn't go with, but on their way back, they told me there was another case in Minnesota with Details about a guy's limbs ripped out inside locked doors. "Sounds ominous," I mumbled. "Yeah." Sam sighed when I heard Dean. "Hey Kee, you might wanna turn off your GPS," he said. "Why?" I got confused. "Garth is tracking us," Sam said. "Yeah, we've got Garth'd," Dean grumbled. "Garth'd?" I raised an eyebrow.
