wedding vows.

A beautiful marriage.

That's what things were supposed to be.

He and his beautiful wife were supposed to be in blissful happiness even beyond their graves. Madly in love, they wouldn't leave one another's side, they wouldn't have eyes for another person, and they'd fall asleep in the arms of their other every night.

How did everything end up so wrong?

Kazemaru saw everything as clear as day, but she always acted like there wasn't a problem. He was sure he didn't do anything wrong, but for some reason, she'd pay hardly any attention to him.

They'd been married for five months so far, and it was three months ago that everything started going horribly south. They'd been happily together for nine years, and with these nine years, they knew one another like the back of their hands.

But she changed.

Now he couldn't understand her at all, and she wouldn't give him the time of day.

He'd come home, and it'd be like they were strangers.

Park was busy, with the cafe business that she built from the ground up all by herself. It was widely successful, and because of this, she took every chance she could to make investments and grow it even further.

Of course Kazemaru understood that she was busy, she was a business woman now. Being a professional athlete wasn't easy work either, so they were both busy. Except Park was the only one busy enough to not bother making plans together.

After spending a near hour on her computer, Kazemaru would make her put it away so she could get some sleep. After a while, she'd oblige and set her laptop on the desk before returning to bed. With those pretty soft brown eyes of hers, she'd just stare at him as he stroked at her hair. He couldn't tell what was going on in her head anymore. . .

"I wish things could go back to the way they were."

". . . What are you talking about? Everything is fine."

Whatever was going on with his wife, he wished to god that she'd just open up and tell him. One of his friends hesitantly muttered that she could be cheating on him, but after watching her enough at dinner time. . . Her actions were too casual for that to be true. Even this strong-willed woman would have faltered a few times, or at least even avoided eye contact.

She was so unnecessarily cold.

Kim and Jae had even noticed things were different, so when Kazemaru told them what was going on, they were immediately worried. Talking to their granddaughter, she told them the same thing, over and over. Either she refused to believe she'd been making things rough, or she genuinely couldn't see what the problem was.

One night Kazemaru found her drunk in the living room. She'd drank before, but this woman high ridiculously high tolerance, and didn't fall drunk often at all. A bottle of soju was near finished on the coffee table, and she was staring at the television. As soon as she heard his footsteps, Park shut off the screen and looked out the window instead. If the television wasn't silent, he could have probably guessed what she was watching.

"What are you doing this for? What's going on?" Heaving a deep sigh, Kazemaru knelt down in front of her rather than sitting on the couch.

"Nothing."

"We promised to tell each other everything. Don't you remember?" Taking her hands in his, he gently rubbed at her skin with his thumb.

Park stared down at him with a slight frown, her eyes slightly glassy.

Looking down at her hands, she still wore her wedding ring just as he wore his.

"Let me carry you upstairs, I'll clean up. Just. . . Promise you'll talk to me about this tomorrow."

". . . Okay."

After setting her in bed like some sort of child, Kazemaru went back downstairs to pick up the glass and bottle left behind. Out of curiosity, he grabbed the television remote and turned it on.

She was watching the sports channel, the highlights of his recent games.

He loves his wife, he really does.

[ extended ending. ]

All it really took was a heart to heart talk together. For whatever prideful reason it was, Park felt as if she had to make as much money as Kazemaru did. She loathed it when he was the one to be carrying the two of them, even if they didn't need money badly at all.

They shared the same BMW that he'd drive her to work in near every morning, and this house was given to them from Kim and Jae.

Park just didn't like the thought of being some useless wife at home all day.

She hired some more employee's for the cafe, and this gave her time to actually rest herself. It wasn't long after that she met the students from Raimon, and finally started smiling again.

Kazemaru would come home, and she'd immediately welcome him by jumping into his arms.

They'd watch Korean drama's again and get frustrated at the characters.

They'd eat dinner and talk about their day, and what they planned to do tomorrow.

They'd dress up and go out just to eat ice cream.

He loves his wife, he really does, but at the back of his mind; he can't help but think that this bliss would not last.

That's when she became pregnant with dear Chaeya, that they'd soon lose.
