"I bet you Kazemaru is gonna confess by the end of the month." The headphone bastard, Narukami Kenya  smirked.

"Both that money and Park-chan are gonna slip from your grimy little hands," Henmi let out a devious laugh.

"Alright you fuckers, it's on." Fudou slammed the money right back down. "Double or nothing, ponytail is too pussy to do anything about it." He couldn't help but grin to himself. If this kept on, he was going to be filthy, filthy rich.

The next day after class, Fudou sauntered to the lunch room by himself. Why? Because as soon as the bell rung and he looked up, Park was completely gone. He guessed she jumped out the window, but he didn't see her flattened like a pancake on the ground outside or anything. A small groan slipped past his lips as he caught sight of her sitting beside Kazemaru, Genda and Sakuma sitting opposite.

What is this shit? Some kind of double date? Oh hell no.

Fudou made his way over to the lunch table, shoving himself in the middle of the white haired girl and the tealette. With an obvious frown on his face, he rested his arms on the lunch table, followed by his head. He didn't have the energy to say anything right now.

His four teammates exchanged a few confused glances before Park gently pat Fudou's shoulder.

"Are you okay?" She pouted, "I brought more lunch, we can share!" The female chirped. Fudou passed her an unintentional glare, before immediately feeling guilty afterwards and lifting his head. He always managed to be an ass to her by accident, even though she was being nothing short of an angel.

"When I said 'stop sharing your lunch', I didn't mean for you to bring another one." Kazemaru sighed, munching on some rice.

She even brought another pair of chopsticks, just for the gremlin. No one really questioned /why/ she was so nice to him, even though he bully her half of the time. All of this lead to a shit ton of misunderstandings, and Kazemaru was really not having it. The teal haired male was fine with her having friends other than himself, but /he/ was supposed to be the closest to her. Not this fucko right here. Every single time Kazemaru would ask if Fudou had even the slightest bit of feelings for her; he'd laugh, and say no.

None of this made sense.

After school, Kazemaru offered to walk Park home, and before she could even answer, Fudou interfered.

"We're getting ramen." The brunette would huff, before taking the girl's wrist, and leaving. What especially pissed off Kazemaru, was that Fudou didn't even drag her in any way. He wasn't forceful at all, and so, Kazemaru had no reason to be angry with him.

The second time this happened, Park ask if Kazemaru would like to join. Fudou didn't protest - which was oddly suspicious. Only because it was her who asked, he agreed, and. . . The three of them actually had fun.

They'd talk about classes, the soccer club, how things were at home. Fudou and Park would make jokes and burst out laughing - Kazemaru would then find himself laughing as well. The tealette would spend most of the time, looking at Park's bright expression. So much, that he couldn't notice Fudou was doing the same thing.

"So I heard Kageyama has a nephew? That's pretty cool, no wonder he's not yelling at us lately." Park brought up the topic, bowing at her steaming noodles.

"Yeah, I heard Narukami died yesterday too." Fudou snorted sarcastically.

". . . She was being serious." Kazemaru deadpanned.

Both Fudou and Park burst out laughing.

Why did Fudou spend every free second of his life with that girl, if it was during lunch, during practice break, after school, on the weekends, or on the phone. He kept telling himself it was for the bet, it was only for the best, even thought this shit had been going on before the bet.

Again, Kazemaru had to ask.

"You're serious you don't like her, right?"

"Yes you moron, that idiot isn't my type at all."

"Swear." Kazemaru's determination made Fudou roll his eyes.

"I swear, okay? Happy?" The brunette crossed his arms. "I'm not that much of an asshole, okay? You like her, you get her."

He spoke the truth, every time.

Despite being so constantly kind and generous, Park was still one of the guys. If she couldn't blank out everything asides from soccer, and kick ass on the field - she wouldn't be here in Teikoku.

The month was almost over. There was no sign of Kazemaru making any attempt to confess, and there was no sign that Park even liked him to begin with. Even still, even if Park was only his best friend - Fudou felt some sort of irritation every time he'd see Kazemaru with those disgusting love struck eyes. So irritating, that he had to butt in and ruin everything.

She would laugh at something Kazemaru said, and Fudou would feel the need to say something funnier - and she'd laugh even more;

"I heard Endou is still using his foolproof tire training at Tonegawa Tousen." Kazemaru jested, feeling a little proud after earning a small giggle from the white haired girl.

"It's a lot better than eating the scales of ares' ass at Outei." Fudou pitched in.

"Oh my god, you can't say shit like that!" Despite shit, Park still almost fell over, laughing like an idiot.

Kazemaru would ask if she wanted to study with him, but Fudou would tag along; "Park and I are in the same class, we have the same homework."

They'd walk home together, and Fudou would make an excuse to not go home - but to stay at Park's house for an hour or two instead.

When the month was finally over, Fudou triumphantly took his prize money. A pretty two hundred dollars, one for him, and one for Park (he never really paid her the half from the other bet, did he).

So now the bet was over. There was no reason to be so intrusive anymore.

Yet for some reason, he found himself hiding in the corner of the hallway as Kazemaru tried to talk to her.

". . . I know this is a little personal, and you don't have to answer if you're uncomfortable," Kazemaru started, staring at the ground. "But, someone said something about. . . You liking Fudou." His amber gaze slowly lifted. "I just wanted to know if-. . ."

"What?" Park gaped, "no, no! Of course not! He and I are just friends, and that's how I want things to stay!"

"Just friends, right." Kazemaru let out a small breath, before a simper marred his features. "Sorry for asking so suddenly."

"That's okay. . ." Park trailed off, with her brows furrowed.

"Let's get to practice." A huge weight lifted off his shoulders, and he gently took her hand and lead her down the hallway.
