Chapter 6 - Agonizing Memories

"Um... Caverin-san... The teachers say they need a helping hand with some of the supplies in one of the classrooms, and you're the only one strong enough to help us, so..." A boy said, standing at the doorway.

Seeing as the idiot was probably still sleeping, I guess I could help them then come back and look for him in his Math class.

"Alright, I'll help ya." I said, and we headed to the classroom. The boy was a bit paranoid with me around, and he hurried over. Five boys, excluding me and the one I followed were holding school supplies, and paused when I came in.

"I'm just here to help you guys. I'll leave after the job is done."

We stacked the boxes of supplies for a few minutes, but then I suddenly had a bad headache.

I rubbed my head for a bit, and the environment around me changed. I was in an alleyway, surrounded by a bunch of thugs, or robbers, I don't know. One of them came at me with a bat in hand, I dodged him, and delivered an uppercut to him.

~No One's POV~

"What's wrong with you?!" A boy screamed, staring at the mint haired boy, terrified. He had just witnessed Aura walk over to the boy beside him and beat him up with all his strength.

The mint head grabbed the beaten up boy and threw him across the room, the boy landing with a thud.

Aura then ran towards the others, eliminating them one by one, leading to some of them fainting.

He threw another boy across the room again, crashing into several chairs and desks in the back of the classroom.

(Let's just say he likes throwing people a lot)

~Aura's POV~

A piercing headache struck me again, and it was like something stabbed me right in the guts. But there wasn't any blood, just pain all over. I let a scream escape me, for the pain was a bit too much for me to handle, and then I started to beat up the rest of those people who were still moving, in case they get a chance on me.

A muffled yell rang out behind me. Did- did it just yell my name? I turn around and it was another one of those guys who want to kill me for some reason. I land a hit on the guy, and then everything turned black.

Suddenly, it was like I got stabbed multiple times, I don't know by who, by what, I don't know anything anymore! I just know that it hurts, EVERYTHING HURTS!

The darkness faded back into that alleyway, but all the people were gone except for one of them. I charge towards him, but he dodged my punch, but went down after a kick.

I tried to pin him down, but he rolled away and I crashed into the ground. He took the chance to tackle me and I struggled in his hold. I kept resisting against him, and he wrapped his arms around me, placing his chin and head on my shoulder. Not knowing what his intention was, I started beating the guy's back, trying to get him off me. Then I remembered. I still had my knife!

I took the butterfly knife out of my pocket, and thrusted the blade into his back, but he still didn't let go. My vision started to fog, and I struggled against the person holding me down. My surroundings changed to that of a wrecked classroom.

"You're safe Aura, you're safe here." Said someone, and my eyes focused on a braid of black hair. The one hugging me was Kaden...

F**k.

I was really tired, so I leaned onto him.

It was freezing in the alleyway, but now it's...

"...so... warm..." Then it all faded to black.

I woke up in the nurse's office, blinds around the bed I was lying in. I tried to remember what happened.

I helped a group of boys pack up some supplies, then...

It happened again... And in school too? Oh gosh...

But the memories shouldn't have stopped so early, unless-

Kaden.

Hey... You okay?

'I stabbed the guy! And he, he...'

The sound of slide doors opening made me jump, and I feigned sleep, listening to the nurse's conversation with the person who had just came in.

"Ah, hello."

Wait, Kaden?! I'm pretty sure I stabbed him deep in the back, he should be in the hospital, why is he back already?

"Hello, how may I help you?"

"I came for my friend who I left resting here."

"Oh, you're the one who left the note and that boy here."

"Yeah, that was me. Is he still here?"

"Yes, he's still resting. I was planning to wake him since school is already over and my shift is nearly finished. Can I trust you to lock up after you and your friend leave?"

The woman exited the room.

"Okay, you can get up now, I know you're not asleep."

Wha- How did he know...

I got up from the bed, and pulled open the curtains.

"How are you feeling?"

Why is he still asking about me? He's the one who got stabbed!

"...Better." I said, not making eyes contact with him.

"Good." He walked up to me and messed up my hair, laughing at my instant protest.

"Come on, let's get out of here. I've already got your bag, so all that's left is to lock up and leave the keys at the teacher's lounge."

We did just that, and we were at the school gates.

"How's..." I said, hesitating. I bit my lip then opened my mouth to speak.

"... How's... your back?" I asked, then he hummed thoughtfully.

"It's painful, but truthfully? I'm fine, it should heal within time~!" He grinned.

"It's not FINE!" I yelled. He said it was painful himself! "I know there are probably bruises... And the fact that I sta-"

"Did you mean to do it?" He asked, cutting off my sentence.

"What?"

"Was anything you did intentional?"

"W-well, no, but-"

"Then it's fine."

"What? It's not fine! I... Didn't want to hurt you, but I did... ...I'm sorry."

Kaden's eyes were shadowed by his hair, and I was about to turn around and leave when I felt a hand pull me over and I found myself put in a headlock under Kaden's arm, and he started to mess up my hair again.

"Who would've thought that little Aura had it in him to say the words 'I'm sorry'? *Sniff* I'm almost put to tears~!" He wailed dramatically.

My, my, what happened here, eh?

'EVERYTIME-'

"I'm trying to be sincere, you dark haired idiot!" I yelled, causing the idiot to laugh and release me from his headlock.

"And that's where you need correcting dude." He said, gazing at me right in the eyes. "You're my friend, I don't need you to say sorry to me for things like having your back or helping you. I'd gladly do it again, just for that reason."

'This guy...'

I felt my face heating up, but luckily, he doesn't seem to notice.

"Let's get something to eat, I'm starving!"

He walked forwards as I simply followed him. We decided we would have ramen today, and I remembered the boys from before.

"Hey, what happened to those guys? And won't they tell people about what happened?"

Kaden smirked, and I knew that it was bad for those guys.

"No worries, I have it covered~!"
