Come Back Home. [Part 2][Final]

"You want to go visit him?" Yoongi asked confused. "Incase you forgot, he tried to kill you. Actually even worse, he did kill you, if we're being technical."

Jungkook still couldn't stop thinking about what had happened in that basement. At first he couldn't remember a thing but as time went on his memory slowly started to recollect itself. One thing he hadn't been able to get out of his mind lately was something Namjoon had said while torturing him.

"Joonie hyung isn't here."

Jungkook always tried to shake that part out but after seeing so many headlines about Namjoon claiming possession Jungkook couldn't let go of the fact that what if Namjoon had been telling the truth? He hadn't brought it up with his hyungs at all because he didn't know how to, but he was really missing his leader badly. He said something else that caught everyone off guard.

"I don't think he did it."

"Uhm...what?" Jimin asked confused.

"I don't think hyung did it."

"Stop calling him that. He's not your hyung, Jungkook," Jin said angrily. "And how could you say he didn't do it when he very clearly did it?"

"What if he was actually possessed?" Jungkook asked.

"Yeah, right," Taehyung scoffed.

"I'm serious! We know Namjoon! We know he wouldn't do that to me! You guys weren't there! You didn't hear what he said! I'm really starting to think it was wasn't Namjoon!" Jungkook cried. It had taken some time but for once, Jungkook found himself defending his leader, to everyone's surprise.

"What do you mean we didn't hear what he said? What did he say to you?" Hobi asked curiously.

"Just that...when I talked to him...it wasn't him...it wasn't Joonie...he acted like he had no idea who that even was. Hyungs I really don't think it was him," Jungkook pouted. The members stared at him in disbelief. They were confused .

"Why didn't you tell us something like that sooner?" Yoongi said annoyed. He thought Jungkook had already gone over all the details with them.

"I didn't know how. I was confused and didn't know what to think all I know is it's the only thing that makes sense to me. Namjoon wouldn't hurt me. I know that much," Jungkook frowned. He thought about Namjoon being possessed. If that's what had actually happened, it made Jungkook's chest hurt thinking about how scared and sad Namjoon must be.

"I would like to visit him," Jungkook said again.

"Well you sure as hell aren't going alone," Yoongi demanded.

"I think we should all go see him," Jungkook suggested.

Jimin crossed his arms. "No. I'm not going anywhere near him after what he did to you. And you shouldn't either!"

"Hyung he's not going to do anything! Just go one time and I promise it might be a good thing!" Jungkook realized his hyungs needed a bit more persuading. "I'd be safer if you all came."

And that was the golden ticket. Everyone agreed to go visit Namjoon with their maknae.

They arrived at the mental institution he'd been placed in. The place seemed nice. It had a lot of gardens that were well kept and the staff seemed very friendly. They told the receptionist who they were there to see and they were told he was probably out reading in the gardens somewhere because "That's all he really ever does."

They went out to one of the gardens and saw him sitting on a bench reading. Jungkook went to run to him but Yoongi grabbed his arm, "No. You stay with us."

Jungkook pouted but nodded. They made their way over. Jungkook coughed to get his leaders attention. Namjoon looked up and completely froze as he dropped his book onto the ground. They all stared at eachother for a minute.

"Hi," Jungkook started. None of the other members said anything.

"What are you doing here?" Namjoon asked. He was extremely confused. He had already convinced himself he'd never see any of them again. He gave up hope after the countless weeks of no contact from anyone. This was the first time he'd seen Jungkook since seeing his lifeless body on the ground and his heart was ready to explode. Jungkook looked great. Like nothing had ever happened. Namjoon was extremely grateful, although he knew the youngest had a lot of internal scars. They all did.

"I wanted to talk to you," Jungkook told Namjoon. He went to sit down next to Namjoon on the bench but Yoongi grabbed his arm and pulled him back. "No."

He shrugged him off. "Stop it. He's not going to do anything. Are you?" the maknae gestured to his leader.

Namjoon instantly shook his head. "No, of course not." Namjoon immediately broke down into tears. He knew what the articles had said about him. He'd seen them. He knew the world hated him. He knew his members hated him. Why Jungkook, of all people, wanted to come talk to him he couldn't make sense of but at the same time he was so grateful. He missed them all so much. He was actually surprised to see that every single one of them came, even if the others were just silently standing there.

Jungkook sat down next to Namjoon and hugged him which made Namjoon cry even harder. He thought he'd never hug his maknae again. The members hearts were starting to crack. Right now they were seeing the eyes of the Namjoon they always knew, their leader, and it was hard. They realized that deep down there still was a deep longing to have him back.

Jungkook started sobbing as he turned to his leader.

"I didn't before, but I believe you now," Jungkook stated.

"Believe me about what?" Namjoon asked confused .

Suddenly Taehyung spoke up. "He keeps saying you didn't do it. That he believes you were actually possessed or something."

Namjoon stared at Jungkook with disbelief. Is this actually happening? "You believe me?"

Jungkook nodded. "Yes. I realized you wouldn't hurt me like that." Jungkook turned to his other members. "Would he?"

They all looked away as they agreed that Namjoon wouldn't hurt him.

"I would never," Namjoon agreed through tears. He was so dumbfounded that Jungkook, after all this time, finally believed him. Namjoon instantly pulled Jungkook back into a tight hug, making the others flinch for a second. Namjoon sobbed and went on and on about everything that was happening to him on that shitty trip and how he had no idea what to do and how he was unbelievably sorry for everything. He couldn't believe he was finally getting to tell his side of the story. And Jungkook was the first to believe him.

"I told you all I saw it too," Jungkook gestured to the others. He was referring to the giant black mass he'd seen the night he had his night terror. The other members were becoming a bit more intrigued about all of the details and suddenly all of them had a million questions for Namjoon.

The leader really didn't remember all that much from when he wasn't in his own body, all he remembers was the pain he felt and the memory he was stricken with after he saw Jungkook laying lifeless while he was trapped in the cop car. Namjoon told them how badly he fought to get out and help. How every day after that he just wanted to die knowing it was his hands that put Jungkook through that.

"But it wasn't really you," Jungkook said again. Without even realizing it the conversation started to take a turn from the members talking about that trip to them discussing what they'd been up to since. Before they knew it , it had gotten late and visiting hours were over. They said their goodbyes and Jungkook was the only one to hug Namjoon before leaving, but that was good enough for the leader.

"Hyungs?" Jungkook asked while they were in the car on the ride home.

"Hm?" Jin replied.

"Can we visit him again tomorrow?"

"I'd like to," Jimin confessed. He wasn't sure what happened but after today he realized he wanted to visit Namjoon more. As long as Namjoon was acting like his old, loveable self, he didn't see a problem with at least stopping in to say hello.

To everyone's own surprise they all found themselves wanting to visit Namjoon more. They started stopping by frequently. Sometimes altogether, sometimes in pairs. Everyone was shocked when even Yoongi brought up heading over to go see Namjoon. They'd been talking a lot about old times lately and it was making Yoongi miss him more and more every time he left for the day.

The members had been meeting with Namjoon for a few weeks when they realized whatever was wrong with Namjoon at that vacation house hadn't followed him back. The facility he was in didn't have him on any medications anymore because they realized he didn't need any. He had a ton of special privileges because of good behavior.

One day Taehyung wondered why Namjoon was even still there when he clearly didn't need to be but Hobi reminded him the length of his stay had been court ordered. He still had a few weeks left. The members spent those few weeks seeing Namjoon even more and more.

One day Jin opened his phone because he wanted to show Namjoon news articles.

"I already know what everyone is saying. I really don't want to know any more."

"Just read them," Jin chuckled. Namjoon hesitantly took the phone and started looking through articles about himself. It was breaking news that evidently everything that had previously come out about Namjoon was a publicity stunt from dispatch and that Namjoon was actually just gone on a family trip.

"Who on earth said that? And what about the statement you all gave?" Namjoon asked confused. Unfortunately he'd seen that too.

"About that..." Jin smiled and opened a different article that was breaking news. This article explained how the video that came out about their statement regarding what Namjoon had done was just part of a social experiment they'd been working on regarding defamation of public artists. Namjoon realized these articles were shedding positive light on his name and they were doing damage control.

"I don't understand. Why are these being written?" Namjoon asked confused.

"Why, you ask?" Jin replied while smiling. He sent a text on his phone and suddenly the rest of the members came over to him.

"What's going on?" Namjoon really was in the dark.

"Well, we figured you get out of this place soon and we'd hate to see the world come after you," Taehyung said.

"You guys did this?" Namjoon gestured to the articles.

"Maybe," Hobi chuckled.

"You didn't have to...but...thank you." Namjoon began to cry. He really hadn't thought about what he was going to do once he got out of the facility he was in. It didn't dawn on him that one day he actually would be free from there.

"Don't mention it," Yoongi started, "But we kind of did have to."

"Why?" Namjoon asked .

"Well, like Taehyung said, you get out of this place soon. And we've been doing some talking. Wait no, we've been doing a lot of talking."

Namjoon perked up wondering what Yoongi was getting at.

Jungkook cut Yoongi off. "And we realized hyungie might need a place to stay," he smiled.

"So you know, we figured, I mean, if you're up for it. I mean only if you really want to, then I think we're ready," Yoongi continued.

"Ready for what?" Namjoon raised an eyebrow.

"Ready for you to come back home."

[THE END]
