SYLAQ'S POV

She was kissing me with so much pleasure yet I felt nothing towards her. Her lips tasted like alcohol and my body craved blood. I couldn't help but give in to my thirst for blood.

She obviously freaked when she saw my fangs.

"No, please don't touch me," Julie pleaded,  frantically panting.

"Didn't you tell me like a few minutes ago to explore your whole body," I mocked.

"Yes, I did but not in this way," she muttered, still trembling from fear.

"In case you didn't know, I do things in a much different way," I smirked, pressing my fangs into her shoulders.

Her whole body began to shrink, she was groaning in immense pain and the only thing that she could do was scream her lungs out.

"Please let me go," she still tried to push me away. I always appreciated the little fight humans put up before dying. It made me feel more motivated to shatter their hopes in less than seconds.

My claws pierced into her soft hands deeply as I fed from her uncontrollably. Her blood was what I needed. So what if her kisses couldn't satisfy me, at least her blood would make up for it.

I could just kill her straight away but that would be so boring.

"Run! Run as fast as you can," I compelled her to run from me.

With the little energy she had, she still ran in the dark, she took on her hills as if there was no tomorrow. Well, there wasn't gonna be any tomorrow for her.

I watched how she was running on the empty street, breathing as loudly as possible.

Within a split second, I caught up to her and smothered her neck tightly, then I made colorful patterns on her face with my fangs.

"You monster, please just don't kill me," Julie wailed uncontrollably.

As if crying had ever worked on me.

"Say hello to the devil for me," I growled as I reaped out her throat.

Her lifeless body collapsed to the ground. I savored the taste of her blood in my mouth. I never wanted this for myself but they all brought it upon themselves. If these humans were innocent then Lexie was even far more innocent, yet she was mercilessly murdered.

"Julie! You killed her! I'm gonna tell everyone that you're the mysterious animal!" The biggest fool screamed. I knew that most humans were foolish But I never thought their foolishness could reach this point.

I looked at the black-haired Kate, smiling at her pure stupidity. She quickly flinched, realizing that she shouldn't have come on to me like that.

"Go ahead and be sure to run very fast too," I sneered and smirked at the same time.

She turned back and started running but she couldn't run far from me even if she wanted to.

"I'm sorry. I'll keep your secret but don't hurt me," she sobbed as I grabbed her effortlessly.

"Do me a favor."

"I'll do anything," she muttered desperately.

"Remind Julie to say hello to the devil for me," I wasted no time in reaping her heart out. I flung her lifeless body to the ground, feeling no remorse.
Julie was the one who came after me and as for Kate, she was just foolish.

My next project should be hazelnut but I don't know why I can't bring myself to harm her, That moment we shared in the library has been replaying in my head. I knew I was letting my guard down so I had to do something. There's no space for weakness. Now more than ever, I had to make Ariella my next project.

Operation project Ariella has officially begun.

"Sylaq, I can't be initiated. I've never admired how Dad and others live. No, I just want to explore the world forever," Lexie giggled, her long curly brown hair fluttering as we were both playing chess.

"Lex, being a human can't guarantee that you'll get to go on your adventures forever but if you turn, your dream will be a reality in no time," I reasoned with her but my twin shook her head.

"I don't care if I get to live for seventy years or less, I'll never be initiated. It's better to be happy for a couple of years than to live in agony for eternity. I will always choose humanity over vampirism and checkmate," she distracted me with her speech and captured my Queen.

"You cheated, I want a re-match," I protested.

"I take after you. You also cheated me by being a minute older than me. Ugh, I'm sure I was meant to come out first," she accused for the thousandth time and each time she did, I would always chuckle.

Unfortunately, you didn't even get a couple of years to turn your dreams into reality. They snatched your life away and in a way, my life was lost too. I would forever be sorry for not protecting you, you were my twin and I failed you.

Beep! Beep!

The buzzing of my phone brought me out of my thoughts. I picked up the call out of annoyance.

"What do you want?" I growled.

"Prince Sylaq Steel, I'm sorry for disturbing you," Mia paused.

I sighed, "Apology not accepted so just go on,"

"Well, it's your sister. You were right, she's after your life and from what I gathered, she and Aluta were going to create a harrow that wipe out vampires," Mia stated, her heavy breathing deafening .

"Mia, just watch over my brother and leave Bela alone," I hung up.

Mia was just a witch chef and her powers were very minimal so, I wouldn't let her risk her life like that. I wasn't bothered about whatever Bella was planning because I knew it would be an epic fail. Vampire hunters were the only ones who could kill us and my dad and I were sure to ruin them all.

Still, I needed to go home cause of Nathan. Nathan wasn't just my brother, I'd risk everything to save him. Protecting him was the most important thing to me.

As soon as I'm done with Project Ariella, I'll go home.
