SYLAQ'S POV
"Don't take Bella's attack personally, she's just fucked up," I told her.
She had changed into a white robe.
"I knew this would eventually happen, her hazelnut eyes focused on me. I could get lost in those for eternity.
Ariela needed some sort of assurance that she could be safe here. Dam Bella! She ruined my effort. I wanted to show Ariella that she could really be happy here with me as her life partner, I wanted her to feel that she could be safe and that she could trust me but of course, my dammed sister had to attack her. If she wasn't immortal, I would have killed her.
ARIELLA'S POV
"Where to?" I asked him, seeing as he got up from the bed.
"Just want to get something from the shelf," he dashed to the right corner of the room. Only God knew what he was searching for.
"I found it," he said, bringing out a red box from one of the shelves.
"What's that?" I was curious to know what it was.
He came back to bed and sat very close to me. "Open it!" he handed me the small red box.
My cheeks flushed when I saw what was inside. It was a gold bracelet, it looked very ancient but it held so much beauty.
I loved it. But I didn't need jewelry or any sort of accessories right now. His sister just bit me and he's trying to buy my pain with gifts. I never expected this from him, this is just too low of Sylaq Steel.
"I don't want this. You can't bribe me with a bracelet," I was clear and I didn't try to hide my disappointment.
"W--what?" He seemed confused.
"Sylaq Steel, you can't buy my happiness with gifts," I repeated, feeling exasperated.
He tugged on his curly brown hair. "MRS. Steel, you only think the worst of me. Don't you?"
"Am I wrong? Isn't that your intention?" I grimaced.
"Fuck no. This bracelet is made out of magic and it's meant to protect you," he breathed.
What? Now, I felt bad for accusing him. But you can't blame me, I couldn't really trust vampires.
"Protect me from what?" I peered at the shimmering bracelet.
He explained, "From compulsion. As long as you have this bracelet on, no vampire not even me can compel you. You'll be free from hypnotism. Hmm, it's clear that you haven't gone through the books."
Wow, this was a good thing. Sylaq was watching out for my safety and I was degrading him. Ugh! That was very judgmental of me.
I lowered my head and said softly. "I couldn't really understand those books."
"Well, if you want, I can explain everything to you but we'll have to go somewhere," he offered.
This would really help a lot. Finally, I could get the information that I needed to know and maybe find a way to leave from here. Though Sylaq offered me his protection, it's just not enough. In the world of monsters, humans like me will not survive for long. I had to watch out for my safety too. I wasn't safe here and back at home, I'm wanted by the police. How fucked up is my life?
I nodded, "but where?"
"It's a surprise," he chuckled.
I smiled faintly, "The last time I followed you to a place, you brought me here—-the home of wonderful creatures."
He scowled, understanding my sarcasm. "I'm taking you to where it all started but if your trust issues will get in the way then we might as well not. It's up to you."
Where it all started? I was intrigued, I had questions that needed answers, and above all, I had to devise an escape plan.
"You should know by now that I don't like to stay indoors so when do we leave?"
He smiled brightly at my response. He raised the dazzling bracelet. "May I?" He gestured to put it on for me.
I nodded.
The contact of his hand brushing mine caused a tingling sensation in my body. Honestly, I was yearning for his touch but kept my distance from him. But it was very hard for me.
"MRS. Steel, it suits you perfectly," he mouthed after putting it on my wrist.
I glanced at my wrist and was stunned to see the beautiful effects. My hand glowed as though it was the brightest sun.
"Thank you and I'm really sorry for doubting you," I apologized to him, very unusual of me to do but he deserved it.
"MRS. Steel, you don't have to thank me. I'm your husband so, of course, I must protect you," he laughed a little, a laugh that was so deep and sexy.
Still, I had to set things straight with him. To me, he wasn't my husband. I could never accept a vampire as my husband.
"Ahem! Let's get one thing clear. You're not gonna be my husband for much longer. I will never love and accept you," I reminded him for the nth time.
He turned my face to him as though he wanted to kiss me. Then he said with his husky but velvety voice that continued to allure me like a tempting but forbidden drug. "Love me or hate me, both are in my favor. If you love me, I'll always be in your heart....if you hate me, I'll always be in your mind. So you see MRS. Steel, either way, you will never forget me," his green eyes looked very sincere.
His reply had caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting him to know William Shakespeare's quotes. I hated him for always knowing what, when, and how to speak. I bit my tongue so that I wouldn't kiss those dazzling pink lips of his.
SYLAQ'S POV
"Umm, I need to get a shower." She was obviously trying to avoid me. I knew what she was feeling, she was longing for my touch just as much I was longing for hers.
"Tell me, do you think the cold water will cool down the heat of passion building inside you?" I teased her. I loved teasing her.
"Ugh! Shut up. You said we would be going out so I'm only getting ready," she countered but I sure didn't miss the blush on her cheeks. She got out of bed and grabbed her white towel before dashing to the bathroom. One day, we will have that shower together but not now. I had to make sure she trusted me. She had to accept me as a vampire.
Ariella, if only you knew the extent I was willing to go just to have you.
No matter what I couldn't ever let you find out what I did.
FLASHBACK
"Sylaq, you can't go in," Derrick, Jenny's brother prevented me from entering her room. I pushed him away and dashed into her room.
The sight in front of me left me motionless. That bastard, Zac Tyger was fucking Jenny. Both of them were unclothed and shamelessly cheating on me.
"SYLAQ!" Jenny gasped, feeling stunned and frightened.
Fuck the two of them. I launched myself at Zac Tyger and instantly started biting through his skin.
"Yiu killed my mate so, I fucked your mate," he had a victorious smile on his dammed face.
"Really? So this was your grand revenge? Jenny is this the bastard you chose to cheat on me with!?" I grimaced.
"Sylaq, it was a mistake. I swear, I really love you," she wailed pleadingly.
"You know, I was just coming here to end our relationship but you made my work easier," I was delighted.
Ariella still lingered in my heart, her absence in my life was killing me on the inside. So, I came here to end things with Jenny but I sure wasn't expecting her to betray me like that. At least, she made things easier for me.
"No, you can't leave me," she groaned but I just dashed out of there.
Finally, I was going to get Ariella back. It had been four years since I compelled her to forget me. I thought I could live without her but I was dead wrong. I love that hazelnut human very much.
DOBANA CITY
Finding out that Steve and Ariella were going to get married turned my world upside down. No, she couldn't marry him.
The only logical thing to do was to ruin the wedding. Bloody fuck, I wouldn't let them marry. I COULDN'T GIVE HER UP.
A dangerous plan popped into my head but I was ready to risk it.
At Steve's bachelorette party, I met up with Steve and compelled him to have sex with Rachel. Rachel was the only girl that was at that party and that's why I chose her.
"Two of you should fuck each other throughout the whole night," I hypnotized them both.
"Hey, who are you?" one of Steve's friends asked me but I just glared at him. He should mind his fucking business.
My plan worked out, Ariella did not marry Steve because she thought he cheated on her with Rachel. But things got out of control when she accidentally killed Steve. That wasn't part of my plan at all.
Good thing, I followed her car, or else she would have died in the car explosion.
Maybe, I went too far but love knows no bounds.
"Hey, Sylaq, are you in your spirit world?" Ariella's sweet voice brought me out of the past. She couldn't ever find out about it.
I gazed lustfully over her wet body. Her hair was dripping off water, drawing me in. I wanted to capture her luscious lips hungrily but I had to control myself.
One day, she'd fall in love with me. I would wait for her no matter how long it would take. Maybe we're not meant to be together today but meant to be in the future.
"I was lost in your world 'cause you're all that I can think of," I said followed by a chuckle.
She looked at me with disbelief but it was the biggest truth of my life. Did I regret what I did? I guess not.
